It was the perfect intro to an escape room for our eight-year-old daughter. For around $20 a person, we booked the room where everything is hobbit-sized since it was more kid-friendly. Staff explained the rules in English and the clues were in English as well as Spanish. Nothing was too complicated, but we did need to ask for a few clues. We solved the puzzle within an hour and had a blast!

Mexican Food and Beer! This place is a cool pedestrian…read morestreet that the cops shut down to traffic, and the cafes and bars spill out into the street with tables and giant beers! This place is a cool place to sit out in the street and watch the crowds walk by. It's a hip, younger crowd that hangs out here- with music, food, and drinks! The food selections here are all moderately priced places that focus on Chilango- Mexico City food. Don't expect to find a chain restaurant here. The food choices are numerous. There are many Mezcal bars, and tequila joints that sell crickets in their guacamole. Cool! The outdoor bars serve huge beers- including a small mini keg that they place on the table so drinks don't run dry. There's also Pulque places around here- it's a syrupy sour and sweet fermented low alcoholic drink that is worth a sip, but that's it. The neighborhood seems like it's had hard times in the past, with older style of buildings that have been in various states of disrepair until the whole area seems to have been revitalized, with street art and the buildings fixed up. The area was very safe- especially since it's only pedestrian traffic. There were police at every intersection, as well as signs with maps to direct you to the highlights. The cops helped answer my questions with a smile.

Most of the intersections are blocked off to traffic, and instead, the streets are handed back to the bicyclists and runners! We saw they were simultaneously holding a 5k for runners! Bicycles cram the street by the thousand! It's not a race, but a leisurely ride. Some riders come with fantastical bicycles that defy description. Many people ride ridiculous or costumed bikes, some with weird themes. The ride takes you up and down the major arterial street for Mexico City- one of the busiest boulevards in the world. It's hard to believe that the whole thing is shut down for the bicyclists, but it decreases pollution, and gets people out to exercise! If you're not participating, and just want to drive through, there are still ways to cut through the bike traffic if your driver is on the ball. My trip involved going around the roundabout at the Angel of Independence - in the opposite direction than normal on the roundabout. Hair raising! My city of San Antonio, Texas 'borrowed' the idea from Mexico City, and we have a similar event called "Ciclovia" on a quarterly basis. This is cool that it's weekly! It's FREE!!! Even if you don't have a bike, people can just walk or run. There are places to rent bikes from the kiosks along the way, and bike rental huts all along the Paseo de la Reforma.

On a Saturday evening, walking past this square, the monument/fountain caught my eye…read more As small offshoot of the Zocalo (the large plaza surrounded by the Palacio Nacional and the Metropolitan Cathedral), this is a smaller paved area directly opposite the Supreme Court building to the east and the Mexico City Government Building adjacent to the west. As its name suggests, it commemorates the founding of the city of Tenochtitlan, capital of the Aztec empire in 1325, which later became Mexico City. A fountain with a cluster of sculptures in the center--created in 1970 by artist Carlos Marquina--depicts the legend of Nahua* settlers migrating from the (possibly mythical) city of Aztlán. Upon sighting an eagle devouring a snake while perched on a nopal (cactus), they took it as a sign to settle and create the city. This same imagery adorns the Mexican flag today. When I was there in January 2026 the fountain was filled and the sculpture is easily visible from the street and sidewalk. I can only imagine how bustling the Plaza is during the day with the sights and smells of Mexico City's historic culture. There was lots of activity even in the evenings, mostly families out for an evening weekend stroll. This is a spectacular spot in an amazing city. Will definitely be back to discover more of Plaza de la Fundacion on our next visit.

In my book, Central Park in New York City will always be the best park I've ever seen in a major…read morecity. Then I went to Bosque De Chapultepec and was just blown away from the pure size. You can fit about 2.5 Central Parks into this park. It's incredible. It's truly a place that anyone who visits Mexico City must put on their agenda. Some of the cool things about this park. They have my favorite attraction in the city-the famous Museum Of Anthropology in the park. They also have the famous castle that is filled with so much great works of art and historical artifacts. They host many concerts in this park. They also have a huge Ferris Wheel that you can see from miles. There is a big lake in the center of the park. The park is also home to a huge city zoo. The way we came in the park there was also a massive collection of street vendors selling just about anything your heart desires. The park truly is an epicenter for the city and I'd imagine means the world to the local residents of Mexico City. These are just some of the reasons I would 100% recommend visiting the amazing Bosque De Chapultepec. It's absolutely massive, incredibly diverse, and there's enough to see and do here that you could easily spend an entire day exploring it.

It did look ginormous on the map! For us, it was a cut through to get to another destination. But I'm glad to have been able to look at the greenery and flowers here. It was a well maintained and clean park. There were plenty of people jogging, taking pictures, and moseying around. I think at some parts of the park, the streets were lined with food and souvenir vendors.

They have a small greenhouse and a large area under the fruit trees where you can sit on a blanket (people were picnicking there), as well as benches under the thicker trees in the shade on the other side of the garden. The entrance I came in through was on the bosque castle side, and I went out the exit on the other side where the museum of modern art is. I was able to walk down that way easily to get to Polanco. I was a solo traveler and I love gardens so I had a very lovely time walking through and looking at the plants here.

They had issues with the local law and had their license suspended at one point. I asked them what's up with this $100 dollar for 4 drinks?!?!? and he said and showed an inflated bill of scribble = $70 was a "service charge". WTF? The old bait and switch scam. Be up front!!! and say it will be a show that costs $100 dollars for 4 drinks. Many users on Yelp complain about this place. If it were in the US, I would call the Better Business Bureau.
