While, they're not as strict as other Montessori daycares, I find that a good approach. Children are meant to be children and they discover with play. Applying strict rules to everything restricts kids imagination but that doesn't mean that they are not given structure. As far as I've seen, they keep the kids active during the summer, and whenever weather permits during the winter. I like that they don't have TV and their playground is great. They are right across from a park so they go there during the summer sometimes. The only thing Im not too happy about is when I've called to let them know about something, I feel like i'm always rushed by the person at the other end.

Director at Cadence for the past 13 years! They are 2 professionals that know their business and do a great job with the kids, teachers, and parents! There are also a good amount of teachers that have been at this daycare for 5, 10, 15, and 20+ years...which is serious retention! That tells me that these teachers want to be there! Things are organized and ran very well. It's always been a great feeling to be able to walk down the hall and the teachers know me and my kids, and all of the teachers and leaders are conversational and happy! I've been very pleased with the school's curriculum! They offer centers for rotation and variety and cover the important development areas of: gross motor skills, socialization, independence, counting- math, speech, reading, writing, shapes, colors, interactive/imaginative play, outdoor play, working with others/team work, music, arts and crafts, and more! I've never had to worry about my children getting bored- and they have fun...they want to go to school everyday! Finally, the food they offer for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack is quality and very healthy! I've appreciated the great variety that they put into their menu, which promotes the kids to always be trying new things and to eat what you get! This daycare and preschool has remained my #1 choice for 13 years! Primrose has been wonderful in more ways than I expected! -The school is new, spacious and beautiful! -The owners are lovely! They give the school a nice feel of a family environment. -The food they serve is healthy and made on site. -Because the school opened recently, the class was small and my girl just loved it from the start, and now she is loving that the class is growing snd she is slowly meeting more children. -The curriculum is great! My girl is learning all about natural resources and other things that are interesting and useful. -When it comes to COVID, they went above and beyond to keep everyone safe (and did more than the bear minimum recommended by the state). They installed air filters that are above the CDC guidelines. Additionally, they are very open and transparent about teachers vaccinations, and really foster a safe environment. I asked other daycares I called if the teachers were planning to get vaccinated - some places just answered: we can't make them, so we don't even ask! Which I know, but that's not enough for me! After I was invited to come to West Des Moines Christian Church, I went to the early service a couple of times and immediately realized that I couldn't wait to come back. It's a welcoming congregation and the pastors are all amazing. Seriously, this was so unexpected! It's what a church should be. I'll admit that I joined the church 6 months after I began attending. The outreach services and activities are endless. There is something for everyone: sports leagues, bible study, food pantries, mission trips, VBS, and so much more. It's awesome. I found the place where I needed to be.

Jan is the owner and she knows everything there is to know about modern daycare safety, curriculum, education, the works. When my kids are good, they're praised, and when they're bad, they get in trouble instead of being coddled. My kids are constantly coming home with new knowledge and skills that I would not expect for their age level - Spanish, reading, geography, etc. They are good with potty training too - they will go as fast as you want but won't push you.
