I graduated a while ago in 2016, looking back it was/ still is a great school I made friends and memories that are great and hard to forget but the environment was and still probably is not always welcoming,there are still cliques, bullying, popular kids etc. coming out 5 years ago Im glad I did it after i graduated but i always think of what would've happened if i was in high school, most likely I get kicked out and it doesn't sit right with me as I still have faith and a relationship in Christ. I got along with everyone mostly well sometimes I got picked on for being a high functioning autistic and I still sometimes wonder what they think now but for the most part DMC was a great high school experience for me and I miss my friends. read more

Our son has made some bad decisions that resulted in us privately placing him at Boys Town for his sophomore year of high school. Challenges still exist but with God's guidance we are confident he will succeed. He has been there for 9 months and is ready to come home. As parents, we believe that a Christian school is a tremendous opportunity to shepherd our son. It would remove him from the previous negative influences that he found in his previous school. He deserves another chance. His future is bright, yet it was made clear to me that he is not welcome at Des Moines Christian School. I was told that he does not meet their high standards and that he "will fail" when he returns home from Boys Town. Des Moines Christian School should leave the word, "Christian" out of their title. It is merely a private school which is all about appearance (people with money, students who excel in sports, and NOT taking in children who have faced challenges in life). The Bible has different ideas about people in need. Shutting the door to a family who is reaching for a new beginning, says a lot about you. We are very disappointed with Jahna Duda's (the principal) response to our plea for hope. She flat out told us that our son will fail and offered no hope for our family. Our friends & family who have supported us share the same dismay in a school that is run by Christians. Romans 15:1 We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. As a grandfather with three grandchildren at Des Moines Christian School I have had an up close and personal view of this school. And my experience is "5 star"! From the leadership to the teachers and staff I have seen consistent serving, sharing of biblical Truth, servants hearts and an incredible spirit. Outstanding School! This is the best money I have ever spent! My third and final kid graduated DMCS in May of 2016. My kids loved attending DMC. They look forward to contributing as Alumni and are VERY thankful for the outstanding teachers! Praise the LORD for His provision of DMCS!!! read more

We moved to this area so our daughter could go to the school. We submitted the application and answered a few things incorrectly. We had our interview and we told two different people we answered one of the questions wrong. The principal who interviewed us had told us about the Kindergarten round up and my daughter was really excited about coming back. We called to follow up twice and we never received a call. The next day I received a form email stating that we were not accepted? I was told the superintendent would get back with us and instead I got another email saying he had the same recommendation based on the "application" which was incorrect and the interview. I believe this school discriminate's based on ethnicity. I would not recommend this school unless you are a white family. read more

This is the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. We had to wait two hours for a table only for them to sit us with others. The prices were very reasonable for a lunch, even though their hours are very limited. The food left much to be desired with the service being almost nonexistent. The atmosphere was very loud and sometimes hard to talk. The company I was in while visiting this restaurant redeemed the experience for me. Overall despite the best efforts of this restaurant to ruin my evening, we found a way to have fun and grow as a group while there. read more

Fantastic school. Great Christian environment. In general, DMCS is a bit more challenging academic-wise than other schools in the area. I read one review that was very critical towards how the school was run. Don't believe a single word of it. In practically every class, students get to learn about God and how it ties to their education. To make things even better, there is chapel every week. It's similar to going to church. As I mentioned earlier, classes at DMCS are harder than at some public schools. Even with the considerable amount of homework, it stays manageable since the school has an amazing group of teachers that are always happy to work one on one with students if they need it. read more

Des Moines Christian School is such a welcoming community. My children have learned so much there, and I couldn't be happier with the results. They have truly grown up with strong Christian morals. The school has been so gracious and inviting to our family. I love this place and have been sending my kids there for 10 years now. Great place, recommend fully. read more
