This school is pretty disappointing. If you want your child to have a rounded, open, and an actual real education then send your child elsewhere. There is a lack of diversity amongst teachers and a close-minded, bias curriculum is established by essentially almost all-white teachers. Why are there almost all women in the cafeteria and the library only? I attended school here years ago and I have since kept in touch with people who are still actively involved. The rules and regulations are extremely bias and exclusive. Female students who become pregnant are asked to leave. Gay teachers are fired. Black students are asked to cut their hair if its grown too long. There is no action towards defying gender roles and norms. Also, students should be allowed to study instead of going to all-school masses. There was a school-shooting threat and classes still resumed! It was very difficult to be of a different faith as well, it seemed like that wasn't acceptable or appropriate. Can't believe people pay to go to a bias, discriminating school. read more

Getting to register my 2nd child for classes at dowling. Like many schools of this size there is a wide range of classes and activities to select from along with opportunities for volunteerism and to take a class in the summer. read more

I went to this school for 3 years. If my parents wouldn't have moved, I would've ended up graduating there in 2021. Thank God I didn't. I am a gender fluid and pan individual. I had multiple problems in this school like getting called f*g in the hallways along with my other lgbtq+ friends. I reported this activity to the principal who said "he was saying it to his friend" as if on the camera footage he was showing me the man didn't obviously point to me. Absolutely heartbroken to hear that higher-ups wouldn't believe me because this certain friend group I had to deal with had parents who funded or worked for the school. Acting as though my parents didn't pay for me to go there too, when higher-ups had seen how this behavior was affecting me mentally. I had many friends that were scared to come out or be open about who they love because of the treatment there. Getting taught to repent our sins that we were born with and cannot change. Also the last time I went to confession there a priest slapped my ass on the way out. It has been 3 years since I have been there, but I refuse to go to confession ever again. This along with many more traumatizing stories I have are the many reasons you should never go. If you have any morals or any regard for your child's mental health, 0/10 do not recommend it. I am ashamed I ever went there, no it was not my decision but the policies they had then and now are repulsive. read more
