I hired Midwest Earth moving to redo a Retaining wall, and was told he had the equipment and a…read morecrew to do the job. Most of the time it was just one person and at times two people showed up. I paid my deposit on 12/10/2021 and was told they would start as soon as equipment was available which they did but being Iowa everything came to a halt with snow and ice. When they were able to get back to work they did, and were getting close to a finishing point when I was asked by Dallas (the owner) for final payment which was paid April 14, 2022 after that all worked stopped . After sending text messages and trying to reach Dallas with no reply I sent a demand letter from my lawyer . Dallas did reach out to me after he received the demand letter. We discussed finishing the wall and the dirt work that still needed to be done. He said he would get it done right away , that was the end of July and on October 4,2022 he still was not done and I went out to talk to Dallas about and end date and all of the rocks in my yard (because instead of fill dirt, he brought dirt from a construction site, where he is building his own garage) I was ignored and he drove off, at that point I was done with him and messaged him to let him know I wanted him gone and all equipment off of my property . When he returned he was very angry yelling at me and calling names to the point my neighbors came out to make sure I was ok. I am glad he is gone, but my yard is still a muddy mess and I now have to have a reputable company to come in to clean up his mess. I do not recommend this company or the owner Dallas and if you do hire them, don't make full payment before all work is done.
