    Large waiting room

I've had what I suspected to be tennis elbow for over 4 months, which is unusual for me. When I usually feel the pain coming, I can modify how I hold things and the pain tends to go away fairly quickly. I spoke with my primary physician and she referred my to Dr. Lee at Desert Orthopedic Center, just to be sure that there wasn't something else going on. Making an appointment was super easy. They called me immediately after receiving my referral and I was shocked that they were able to see me within a week. These sorts of medical offices usually have a long waiting list. I was signed up for the portal and told that some forms would be sent to me or I'd have to be in 30 min early (instead of 15) to fill out said paperwork. I got a few emails but never any forms. I arrived more than 30 min early because of this. I didn't get called up to do my paperwork until the time of my appointment and it actually wasn't really any paperwork. The person at the desk asked me questions and I signed two forms and we were done. Although my appointment didn't start on time, I didn't have to wait long once called back. Everything was quick and efficient and friendly. I loved how everyone gave their names and explained where and why and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Lee was great. Informative and helpful. He gave me options. I chose the cortisone shot, which was done right there in office. The office is large but clean, not as modern as other places but that's ok. I'd definitely recommend this place and will be back if any other issues arise.

Dr. Watson and his staff are unparalleled. I've come to this DOC and other locations many times in the last three or so years. Alan and Nickie are absolutely wonderful. Both are extremely friendly and helpful. Tbh, everyone has been wonderful during all my Dr. Visits. A year ago, I had several Dr. Appts (one even at this same location) But it wasn't until I met w Dr. Watson that I felt confident to move forward with foot surgery. I also met w two of his fellows, and both were amazing. Highly Recommend for any foot issues. I get a little overwhelmed with scheduling. They tell you a time to arrive, but then sometimes you'll get a text that tells you to arrive earlier. This can be confusing for me because I get easily overwhelmed and confused w appointment times as I've already set reminders and etc., but this is pretty standard for all Dr offices. I just wish they would give you the earlier time from the beginning.

I went to this center because my Rotator Cuff was cracking all the way around my shoulder. I saw Dr.Richard S. Woodworth. Before seeing him they sent me a big package of paper work to fill out. When I went in everyone was polite and accommodating. They sent me to Richard S. Woodworth. They took an X~ray and he gave me a cortisone shot. He wanted to see if that would make it better. My friend just had surgery on her Rotator Cuff but her shoulder did not have the cracking of the bones in the shoulder like I had. They said come back in 3 weeks. I saw another lady and she is discussing the same X~ray he did when I was there the first time. I was like why is she telling me the same thing. They wanted the Copay and to bill the insurance again. We talked that week. I got an MRI on my shoulder and then I told them due to my disability I can not go out 3 times a week for physical therapy for my arm. I don't drive. I take a bus. I also told them that Aetna will come to my house and do the Physical Therapy. She called me back the next day to tell me that Doctor Richard Woodworth said he will not do the surgery unless I go there for PT. I said that it was impossible. All that week his secretary was chatting with me then on Friday she said she was sorry that he said NO he will not do the surgery. Only because they wanted me to do it there. Aetna will do it in my home. They did not like that. So she quickly cut me short on the phone and said there is nothing they could do for me. I filled a report to Aetna and she lied to Aetna and said I never came back. I told themy insurance company I did not go back because she said there is nothing he said they could do for me and she then said I have other patients to talk with. Then we both said Good bye. All the times I talked with her on the phone and I was up there in person they were nice. Then when they could not get extra money from the insurance company for PT their attitude changed to cold. They wanted the money from Aetna for PT when it is including in my plan. This Desert Orthopedic office with Richard Woodworth lied. I wasted my money to get that MRI for my rotator cuff when they turned me down because I could not go 3 days a week for PT when my insurance company would come to my home. Las Vegas doctors are all about the money. They do not care about the patients well being. I will never go back to Desert Orthopedic Center again. On his paper work it says: Desert Orthopaedic Center. Dr.Richard Woodworth, M.D. I guess you have to be rich to get him to do right by patients that does not have a lot of money like The Silver Knights and Las Vegas Aces. Next I am writing a review on Google.

We went to a different office previously and we wished we would've started here. From the staff to Dr. Ong himself, what a difference from the other office! I will share our experience so hopefully I save someone else some hassle. I will update this review with his knee surgery results periodically. Any negative reviews I saw about this office, were about the doctor's bedside manner. We actually LOVED his straightforward bedside manner. We aren't here to find a bestie. We need a knowledgeable doctor that knows his stuff, who will perform a detailed surgery with incredible results. Upon leaving our first visit with Dr. Ong, my husband expressed how much more confidence he has with Dr. Ong than he ever felt with the other doctor. He didn't get the car salesman feel like we did at the other office. We didn't feel like just a number ( or just a dollar sign $$$) but we actually felt this office cared. My husband has a complete ACL tear among other knee tears. His work won't let him go back to work until he gets his knee repaired - which would be great IF he was getting paid. His FMLA only saves his job for 3 months. Trying the other office first, they wasted FIVE WEEKS of his recovery time with only an MRI to show from it. Next I will compare Dr. Ong's office with Advanced Orthopedics. ONG'S OFFICE: You call- and just imagine, someone answers! OTHER OFFICE: Waiting on hold for 30 minutes before you go to voicemail OR worse yet, waiting on hold 30 minutes before they hang up on you so you have to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes. ONG'S OFFICE: He listens to what happened to cause your injury, answers your questions and then gets down to business. He does a thorough exam, explains your findings while showing your MRI imaging and uses a knee model to give a detailed explanation of what's wrong and what needs to be done. OTHER OFFICE: You see two other trainees before you see the doctor. The doctor comes in, tells a joke. Touches your knee and stays they'll start working on prior authorization. ONG'S OFFICE: "We'll have this request in by tomorrow. My name is Myra if you have any questions..." OTHER OFFICE: "It's not turned in yet. We'll get that done within the next 7-10 business days for a prior authorization request." ONG'S OFFICE: "Where would you like your FMLA paperwork sent to? I can CC you on it as well." OTHER OFFICE: "Your FMLA paperwork will be completed in 7-10 days. We don't email paperwork. You'll have to come pick it up."

I'm thinking. Ok, wow He must be really busy today. He offered me an injection to see if it might help as I was still working. That didn't help but for a few days. Made another appt, and mind you my co-pays are $55.00 each visit. 2nd appt, he gave me a different type of injection. That too didn't help too well, but a little. I'm 67, and knowing I need a replacement, as he told me last visit that's the ONLY thing that will really help me, I made a 3rd appt to get it going for the surgery. MY MOUTH FELL TO THE FLOOR WHEN HE TOLD ME I HAVE TO WAIT 3 MONTHS AFTER INJECTIONS TO GET THE SURGERY! He never..ever told me this! I was now off work on disability. I started to tear up a little, I was shocked he didn't tell me. I told him, you never told me this!! His reply was...It's pretty standard knowledge. Well...obviously not as I didn't know! Asked him what am I supposed to do now, I'm off work. He then just shrugged his shoulders, saying..I don't know. Shrug your shoulders??? How unprofessional can you get? As I'm now twiddling my thumbs for 3 months, I found a different Dr, but after 3 months are up, I'm not getting and type of disability payments from my work for 30 days, then my long term disability kicks in. 30 days with no pay!!! I can't afford that. But I'm stuck!! Had he told me before he gave me those injections, that I would have to wait 3 months, i would not have had the injections, because my main reason for seeing him was to get the surgery over with, as I'm not getting any younger!! He doesnt take the time to educate or inform his patients about anything! Didn't say if I should stay off my knee, do I walk, do exercises, use ice, use heat...maybe physical therapy. Nothing!!! Just prescribed me medication. Horrible on giving us the time we deserve and tell us what the hell is going on!! Now I get an email from his office as he's no longer in practice. I wonder why. Very fishy practice...

Results vary by individual. Dr. Brian Carr's goal is to minimize pain using current technologies. Before surgery, he uses Iovera. In my words, this involves temporarily "deadening" nerves above and below the knee. This lessens pain for 3+ months. Results vary by individual. On the day of surgery, Dr. Carr uses a nerve block. This nerve block almost eliminates any pain for 1-3 days. Dr. Carr uses computer assisted surgery making for more precise incisions, and better post-surgery results. After surgery, Dr. Carr takes an aggressive approach to combating pain. I am currently 3 weeks post-surgery. My wife and friends are amazed at my progress. I have experienced relatively little pain. I recommend Dr. Carr and his staff without reservation. If your orthopedic surgeon is not using Iovera, you are/will be experiencing unnecessary pain.

Second, I really need all medical professionals to understand that more than one person can have the same or similar name. If you are not competent enough to understand that two people can have the same name, you are not competent enough to render medical care. I am aware that someone who is 20+ years my senior has my name. And I am aware that this person has been in and out of jail since 1982 for drug-related crimes. I wasnt even born in 1982. Whats weird is that you cant figure out the 20 year gap in the charts. I would think age is important to medical diagnosis, but clearly it doesnt impact the medical advice provided here. I need you to try very, very hard to understand this. Because gossiping outside the door of a place I've never been (and am only here because of a referral from an ER) about how I'm a repeat flyer is unprofessional and, likely, unethical. I really hope that each of you are treated the same way you treated me in a similar situation. If it is too difficult for the nurses and doctors to see different medical history, birthdays, and middle names in the chart and reach the conclusion themselves that more than one person can have the same name; I am seriously concerned about what else is missing from their basic common sense, reading comprehension, and logic skills. I do not want treated by anyone who cannot figure this out on their own without prompting.
