Just had the most strangest & negative experience at this Doctor visit to see Dr Steven Nishiyama? It was pretty outrageous! I got there 1 hour earlier, cause their pre Check-in had a glitch, and could not enter in my information beforehand? So as I was still in Triage going over all my info, and as we're getting to the end, I briefly mention to this Monica, girl. That I was needing, medically a Same day Bilateral Total Knee replacement, (which is, both the knees done in the same Surgery). When this girl mentions, "Oh, he doesn't do that!" (Really brash, and matter of fact.) Sounding like some employee talking about a product at a Convenience store? (When this is patient in pain, in need of Surgery ASAP!) After I had profusely researched him, what he does: like what type of surgeries, and even which Hospitals he works with, and so on, etc.? So, as soon as she feels I'm disapointed, she gets up and brings in.. his surgical Medical Assistant? And she also repeats very trashy that he doesn't do it! (But, in a really degrading manner getting louder & louder.) They behaved towards me, like I was crazy, and like this procedure doesn't even exist? I was telling her that I had seen just yesterday on Google a verified review that he does do it? (But I couldn't find where I had saved it, unfortunately for me)? Atleast to vindicate myself, right? It all turned out to be like a debate, that they would surely win? I'm posting a screenshot of it on here for you'all to see... So, they wasted my time, when they knew I was bringing in X-Rays of my 2 knees, and everthing! That's fine.. if the 15 Doctors in their Center don't choose to do it, it doesn't mean that another Ortho Dr doesn't do this precedure in all of Las Vegas? But, why would there be a verified review on Google, then? The 1st girl entering all my stats, asked me, "So then, do you want to continue?" Like saying, "We saw you leaving like 5 min. ago, Lady?" (And I thought that was pretty Rude?) So I said "yes, of course". But, I did not even understand why she was even asking me that? So the 2 office workers are Vetting his potential patients that he would do Surgery on? That is so intrusive, in my opinion! And on top of that, they mentioned that the Doctor doesn't even do Rehab either? I'm finding this all, so very strange... And not necessarily the facts they're telling me is the actual problem, as much as just the Rude way they were behaving, more than anything? I'm posting what appears on Google, so you can see why I ended up setting up an Appt. with him in the first place, or I wouldn't have wasted my time? Obviously, I left the office, very disapointed... Beware of this Dr's office, the way that they behave is so Rude & unprofessional.. The correct, & most professional way is letting the Doctor tell me himself, that he prefers not to do this procedure! Period... Living in Las Vegas as long as I have, it's been my experience, that there are slim to none of Ortho doctors that are kind and caring? No amount of apologies at this point, after the fact, can change the sizable distress these 2 girls have caused me, in just a few minutes? And they didn't even show me out...back into the Seating area so that I could leave? If this Doctor only knew, that these 2 girls are causing such plainful displeasure to innocent patients seeking a very needed Surgery? I'm a patient of Desert orthopedic in the far Northwest area and my care has always been amazing there! My experience with this Desert orthopedics visit started off great. Reception was wonderful. The person who took me back to do my x-rays was very sweet and the girl who did my x-rays was very patient with me because my arm and shoulder was in such pain. Even the girl who took my information in the room before the doctor came in was super friendly! All that changed when Dr Huff came in the room. The man does not listen. He basically discredited how I was feeling and told me it was not my shoulder but my neck. That's totally fine that he was able to let me know that the pain I was feeling was actually coming from a pinched nerve in my neck. His delivery was awful. My adult daughter was with me, because she drove me and when we walked out she said that guy is such a jerk! His tone was condescending, almost mocking. I would never recommend anyone to him, ever. read more

I've had what I suspected to be tennis elbow for over 4 months, which is unusual for me. When I usually feel the pain coming, I can modify how I hold things and the pain tends to go away fairly quickly. I spoke with my primary physician and she referred my to Dr. Lee at Desert Orthopedic Center, just to be sure that there wasn't something else going on. Making an appointment was super easy. They called me immediately after receiving my referral and I was shocked that they were able to see me within a week. These sorts of medical offices usually have a long waiting list. I was signed up for the portal and told that some forms would be sent to me or I'd have to be in 30 min early (instead of 15) to fill out said paperwork. I got a few emails but never any forms. I arrived more than 30 min early because of this. I didn't get called up to do my paperwork until the time of my appointment and it actually wasn't really any paperwork. The person at the desk asked me questions and I signed two forms and we were done. Although my appointment didn't start on time, I didn't have to wait long once called back. Everything was quick and efficient and friendly. I loved how everyone gave their names and explained where and why and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Lee was great. Informative and helpful. He gave me options. I chose the cortisone shot, which was done right there in office. The office is large but clean, not as modern as other places but that's ok. I'd definitely recommend this place and will be back if any other issues arise. read more

WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING BEWARE of making an appointment with a specific doctor at Desert Orthopedic. I made an appointment with Dr. Kang in regard to my hips, which have been replaced twice on both sides! My hips are 10-12 years old and starting to have some issues. Dr. Kang , I was told is Desert Orthopedic's ONLY revision specialist for their firm. No one else does revision surgery. I did not see Dr. Kang. I saw another doctor who checked my hips and said everything appeared fine! My complaint is Dr. Kang does 100 revision surgery's a year. The Doctor I saw did not do revision surgery! It was a waste of my time since I had to travel all the way across the valley to see a doctor who could not answer my questions. So I will have to make another appointment in order to see Dr. Kang, MAYBE! So in closing be careful when booking to see a certain doctor at this firm!!! read more

Dr. Watson and his staff are unparalleled. I've come to this DOC and other locations many times in the last three or so years. Alan and Nickie are absolutely wonderful. Both are extremely friendly and helpful. Tbh, everyone has been wonderful during all my Dr. Visits. A year ago, I had several Dr. Appts (one even at this same location) But it wasn't until I met w Dr. Watson that I felt confident to move forward with foot surgery. I also met w two of his fellows, and both were amazing. Highly Recommend for any foot issues. I get a little overwhelmed with scheduling. They tell you a time to arrive, but then sometimes you'll get a text that tells you to arrive earlier. This can be confusing for me because I get easily overwhelmed and confused w appointment times as I've already set reminders and etc., but this is pretty standard for all Dr offices. This review is about the front office staff. I dealt with 2 different ladies and neither one said hello or good morning, there was not even hint of a smile. Otherwise thier words and actions were correct but there was no sense that they recognized that I'm a person. It was like dealing with perfect little robots, but also when I was given instructions their tone was terse, like I was being reprimanded. I went to this center because my Rotator Cuff was cracking all the way around my shoulder. I saw Dr.Richard S. Woodworth. Before seeing him they sent me a big package of paper work to fill out. When I went in everyone was polite and accommodating. They sent me to Richard S. Woodworth. They took an X~ray and he gave me a cortisone shot. He wanted to see if that would make it better. My friend just had surgery on her Rotator Cuff but her shoulder did not have the cracking of the bones in the shoulder like I had. They said come back in 3 weeks. I saw another lady and she is discussing the same X~ray he did when I was there the first time. I was like why is she telling me the same thing. They wanted the Copay and to bill the insurance again. We talked that week. I got an MRI on my shoulder and then I told them due to my disability I can not go out 3 times a week for physical therapy for my arm. I don't drive. I take a bus. I also told them that Aetna will come to my house and do the Physical Therapy. She called me back the next day to tell me that Doctor Richard Woodworth said he will not do the surgery unless I go there for PT. I said that it was impossible. All that week his secretary was chatting with me then on Friday she said she was sorry that he said NO he will not do the surgery. Only because they wanted me to do it there. Aetna will do it in my home. They did not like that. So she quickly cut me short on the phone and said there is nothing they could do for me. I filled a report to Aetna and she lied to Aetna and said I never came back. I told themy insurance company I did not go back because she said there is nothing he said they could do for me and she then said I have other patients to talk with. Then we both said Good bye. All the times I talked with her on the phone and I was up there in person they were nice. Then when they could not get extra money from the insurance company for PT their attitude changed to cold. They wanted the money from Aetna for PT when it is including in my plan. This Desert Orthopedic office with Richard Woodworth lied. I wasted my money to get that MRI for my rotator cuff when they turned me down because I could not go 3 days a week for PT when my insurance company would come to my home. Las Vegas doctors are all about the money. They do not care about the patients well being. I will never go back to Desert Orthopedic Center again. On his paper work it says: Desert Orthopaedic Center. Dr.Richard Woodworth, M.D. I guess you have to be rich to get him to do right by patients that does not have a lot of money like The Silver Knights and Las Vegas Aces. In your voicemail, you said to return your call, but you DIDN'T LEAVE A CALL BACK PHONE NUMBER. I called the number you called me from within five minutes of you leaving a message and the two people who I had the unfortunate experience of interacting with, could not get me to you or anyone on your 'team'. I asked for your phone number and I was told I cannot have it unless you give it to me.I thought, OK, I'll have to be the one to jump through hoops to see you and I tried to make an appointment. Nope, I can't see you until July - TWO MONTHS FROM NOW! Or your next telemedicine appointment is in June - ONE MONTH FROM NOW. You may be a great doctor, but I'll never know. I told your staff I'd look elsewhere for my medical care. You are way too busy and out of touch for me to take you medical care seriously. The only good thing I have to say is I didn't want long to be seen. X-ray staff was amazing as well. My bad experience started when the PA asked me if I needed an interpreter the moment she came in. I understand I have a strong Hispanic appearance but that was super uncomfortable for me. I feel like I was discriminated against. My concerns and feelings were disregarded since there's no fractures on my hand. Is this not a hand specialist who understands pain does not just come from fractures but your tendons as well? I have tendinitis and still I was refused further treatment but a referral to physical therapy which I had to fight for. The demographic location of this office plays a role in care. I was hoping this would be different but I'm not surprised I was treated this way especially after being asked if I needed an interpreter. Save your $40 and go elsewhere. read more

The staff is great and extremely nice. The office is clean and pleasant. I saw Dr. Walter Song, who specializes in workmen's comp claims and accident patients. However, he does not offer many options or ADA accommodations for those experiencing pain without a claim. During my appointment, he only looked at my hand without thoroughly assessing the issue or offering any physical examination. It seems that Dr. Walter Song prioritizes certain types of claims over genuinely helping people. It appears that his focus is on financial gain rather than caring for patients. I arrived to my appointment 30 minutes early and still waited 56 minutes to be brought back to a room to continue wait another 30+ to see a provider, the nurse came in took my info and ordered X-rays, I waited, got the x rays then went back to the room and waited another 30+, when the provider took one look at me he said I needed to lose weight before even looking at my Xrays, which were taken of the wrong section of my back so I had to go back and wait for those to be done, then back in the room for another 30 minutes. After I explained the enormous amount of pain I was in the doctor said he would send medication to my pharmacy for me and suggested I get an MRI ( which needs a prior auth and needs a separate apt) After being there a total of almost 4 hrs I got a prescription for an NSAID, no different than the Aleeve I was currently taking at home. I come here all the time and each time I come in for my appointments, I'm out in the room and forgets. Each time I come I'm waiting for 1.5-2 hours before the Dr comes in to talk to me. When I open the door to ask questions, the medical assistants catch an attitude. Asking can I help you? Yes, did Dr forget about me? The MA said no he's with other patients also... ok so my time means nothing? I shouldn't have to wait as if I was a walk in patient. I scheduled an appointment for a reason... 30mins past appointment time is pushing it... 1 hour is unacceptable and 1-5 hours is obnoxious!!! We all have things to do. I am very disappointed and unhappy with the staff and the wait time. This is absurd and unacceptable!! They need to figure out their staff and scheduling!! As we all know the hoops you have to go through just to get into a doctor is amazing. then when you finally do they give a band aid on a serious and painful knee problem. Then suggest a treatment that has to be approved. So, more time goes by and all the while you're still in pain. Finally, the treatment is approved, and you awe some relief is coming but what not so fast. It has to go through a specialty pharmacist and then once they receive word that it is there, now you think relief is coming, but not now you have to make an appointment because they won't make it until all the injection gel has arrived. Then you call and they can get you in a couple of weeks. All the while you are still in pain. I tried to explain to them that my wife and I were leaving town and if there was any way they could fit her in. Of course, not because this doctor doesn't see patients on Thursday or Fridays. I said the doctor doesn't even give the shots can't another doctor or tech give it to her, of course not because every doctor at Desert is an independent contractor and only, they can see her. The merry go round of calls I made was amazing and I just kept getting passed around to different people. Where has the compassion for people gone. This company represents the decline in our medical system and our lack of human compassion and any remote caring of people in pain. If possible, I would try to find a smaller more personal group of doctors if they exist read more

I'm scheduled for a doctors appointment for my back pain around 11 at this location. I updated all my contact information and everything on my account a week before my appointment. I'm speeding to my appointment because of so much traffic in east Las Vegas and I walk in and get to the check in desk just for them to tell me "we cancelled your appointment, we can reschedule if you'd want?" I have no other choice, this is the closest location that my insurance accepts so unfortunately I have to reschedule, this is still a 15-20 minute drive mind you. I checked my call logs and my voicemails and received no unknown number call within the last week so nobody ever did contact me. Unprofessional and frustrating. Call the day before to make sure they did not screw you over and waste your time. read more

I had meniscus surgery on both knees 3 weeks apart. Each knee entailed more than the initial diagnosis. I was provided photos of what was corrected but that means nothing to me. The dr called my husband to say how many stitches he put in each. No other explanation was given other than my research on google. I had to wait 2 weeks for my follow up and saw a PA vs. my dr. By then I had forgotten to ask what I really had done. Fast forward 3 weeks and the same thing, however the pain was much worse. The pain meds did nothing for my excruciating pain. I called the next day and was told to call back at the end of the week if I was still having pain. The whole process is a cluster F and I shouldn't have to google the end result that's written on a piece of paper. Can't say I'm a fan at this point. read more

My experience was not good. First, it seemed okay the PA was nice. I had a real hard time getting pain medication. Because you can only order like 7 pills at a time? Then when I saw the doctor, by chance because originally I was booked a month out. Got an MRI in two days thanks to Steinberg's great staff. The doctor saw me and said there was a 50/50 chance to fix it with laparoscopic surgery. Then offered a half knee replacement. When I said I'm not interested in surgery, he refused to help with pain, he said try creams.Later, got a second opinion, and the doctor said I didn't need surgery. I did leave a review when I had my left rotator cuff repaired by Dr woodworth at this location. I am about a week after having right shoulder surgery, as of now, everything is going well. This time around, I did go to Dr fontes. Dr woodworth does not do the CSR surgery that I needed with the VA. I did have the surgery completed last Thursday. Today is friday. As of right now, everything appears to be on track for a decent recovery. Any of the times that I have gone to any of the locations to talk to either woodworth or fantas, all seemed to go well. By the way, right now my left shoulder is absolutely fine. I do believe that I am at 100% with my left shoulder. It was done in May of 2022, today is February of 2 1024. read more
