This is my second nerve block with Dr. Park at DESERT orthopedics on warm Spring. This Medical Center is so kind, caring, efficient. The doctor is top-notch with a great personality. Each and every one of the nurses, front desk, staff, medical assistants and especially the anesthesiologist (she's a fav) are so kind and caring. Embarrassingly I passed out when they gave me my IV two procedures ago, every visit thereafter, they made special care and precaution for me and made it less embarrassing. this place is a joke. I drive down there for my appointment , get there early, sign in and when I get called back they are forcing me to get an xray which would be $30 on top of my copay. After I decline, and offer to go to my primary doctors office to get the X-rays done (since it would have been free for me) they said the doctor won't be able to see me! thats what she literally said to me. I have never had that happen at a doctor's office, nor was I told about this rule when I made the appointment. So they canceled my appointment for the day! and I left with no answers and the same pain, and never having seen a doctor. Went for Knee Replacement . My knee was butchered with a gawd awful crooked dark ugly bump, scar. Every time I voiced concern, all his people had to say is everyone heals differently. He will not see you for visits, has his assistant. He got paid, sorry lady, don't wear shorts or dresses! I am highly disappointed in this guy. I had numerous infections and sent him pictures via emails and he said it doesn't look that bad! He never looked at me in person. Run from this guy! I'd recommend Dr. Michael Crovetti, he is the best. Should have seen him! I use Moderna scar gel 2 x a day! read more

Dr Kim, Dr Lee and Thai Pham, PA all knee that i had a recalled pump (that they put in me). Medtronic came to test it and told them that it wasn't working. They put me on massive amounts of narcotics and left the meds in the pump for 6 more months. I ended up in ICU from the pump overdosing me. They STILL left the meds in the pump. Then Dr Kim dropped me abruptly (not titrating me off of the massive amount of drugs). I almost died from the withdrawal, so in my opinion I would NOT GO TO THEM for anything. Any Dr that treats a patient like that shouldn't be seeing ANY patients. Good luck. read more

Dr Baldauf and his staff are terrific. But after 7 surgeries and fighting a bacterial infection that I got from the second surgery at St Rose hospital which I am still battling they dropped me because they no longer take my insurance. This is a frightening situation I could loose my leg or worse. Trying to find another doctor with my history is near impossible. read more

I call back, wait another 30 minutes. Finally speak with someone and they still have not received a referral so I have to start this excruciating process all over again. I've seen the Dr. Tai Pham for the last 15 years every month. And when it comes to renewing a placard, I had to get placard they want $50 cash. Which I didn't have in my pocket at the time. They want their little $50 in their hands before they'll help me! They won't even trust you to come back the next month... even though I have been doing it for 15 years (monthly)!!! The office staff couldn't give an F! Just another inconsiderate office procedure with a lack of foresight or concerned for the patient! Yes, I always feel better when I share my personal experiences. I was seen by Dr Nevins at the Centennial Office for my knee pain. I had fallen and was in severe pain to walk and do most activites at work. He had sent me to Physical Therapy and my pain was resolved after just 6 weeks. I couldn't recommend them enough. If you need Orthopedic Care please ask for a Referral to them. The office is set up well and I am very greatful to the desk associates who collect insurance information. They have been nothing but a blessing to me. I am coming back to them if I need anything regarding my knee. Please ask for a Referral to Desert Orthopedics Center if you need care. I can not stress it enough. Your time is important but please be aware X rays may be an added cost into your appointment please budget accordingly on top of your Copay. 2024 had knee surgery for tear, Dr did a super job. Few months later I tripped and hit knee right at surgery area and could feel something was wrong. Saw PA had x-ray, nothing wrong but he said may need MRI. Weeks later, called team wanting MRI, I get a call from a different PA wanting me to come in and see PA. Reviewing a medical facility or office is one of my most challenging tasks. Many factors involve going to a doctor, from the intake staff to the physical facility, the telephone wait (especially in Las Vegas), and finally, the nurses, assistants, and doctors. Of course, it's all an extremely subjective viewpoint, depending on why you went to the doctor in the first place. For me, it all boils down to the medical practitioner. I'm willing to forgive most of the "pre-doctor" interactions so long as I feel that the doctor (i.e., M.D., D.O., or NP) listened to my issue(s) and responded in kind with understanding and knowledge of why I was there. Considering this and pointing out that I saw Dr. Jessica Zarndt, I offer my [rarely given] 5-star rating. Unlike most Las Vegas doctors, Dr. Zarndt didn't keep me waiting in an isolated room. She promptly knocked on the door within a few minutes and spoke with me, not talking and looking at the notes on the table beside her. She was understanding and empathetic. She offered various avenues of possible relief for my particular issue. We looked at the X-rays together, and she explained them in detail. Her "bedside" manner was comforting and pleasant, and I trusted her opinion based on her personality. While this review is written under Desert Orthopaedic Center's name, it focuses more on Dr. Zarndt. All the other working parts of Desert Orthopaedic Center, which made me feel as comfortable as Doctor Zarndt, are worth noting. I rarely offer five-star reviews, and it is even rarer that I issue the same to a doctor and their staff. This review is one of those rare instances where I comfortably give 5-stars. For the record, I don't understand how anyone could visit with Dr. Jessica Zarndt and not come away with the same pleasant and comforting feeling as I did. read more

Being new in town, finding good healthcare has been an adventure. As done as i am with my hometown of Seattle, I can't deny that they have excellent healthcare with a lot of options. In LV, It took me a year and a half just to find a primary physician. She is pretty excellent and she referred me to Dr Baldauf so I guess the secret is finding a great doctor and taking their recommendations. It was just pretty hard to find her and there were so upsetting false starts along the way. Dr. Baldauf's office got me in reasonably quickly and they were excellent. I really liked the doctor on a personal level and his recommendations helped immediately with the joint pain I've been fighting. He and his staff were efficient, welcoming and friendly and I give them my highest recommendation. read more

No respect for patients' time. Had 3:10 appt, when I arrived I was told I would not be seen u til about 4:20ish. While I was not thrilled about the tardiness and the fact I would not be able to take my daughter to her evening activities, I was willing to accept it. I told them I was going to run to the bank 3 min drive away, and was told if I did they would cancel my appt. I asked if they were sure they wanted to do that, to which Dr. Huff himself apparently stated, "if he leaves he will not be seen." In my experience if a doctor cannot properly look after his schedule, his ability to properly look after the wellbeing of a patient is doubtful. read more

My husband needed to see an orthopedic surgeon. They scheduled him to see one today. I asked for a specific doctor that was referred by a friend. My husband took some time off to meet the doctor. His assistant showed up introduced himself and it looks like he will be our orthopedic surgeon for the day. I asked him if we are going to see Dr. Thomas Dunn. He said no because he is in the hospital doing surgeries. I told him our appointment was with him and told us he has been doing this with him for 25 years. I asked him if he's an orthopedic surgeon. He is not. He is a medical assistant. I told him that this is my husband's spinal that they might possibly suggest a surgery and we will not schedule anything until we see a surgeon. This place doesn't care about the pain my husband had to go through waiting to see a doctor. My husband had to take some time off to see a doctor. They don't seem to care about our time. They only care about their time and if they can make money of you. read more

The DOC website & WebMD reviews were convincing enough for me to seek a consultation & treatment with them. I wish I'd checked Yelp first. DOC scheduled a 1st available appointment at a location across the valley. After emails, text messages & calls from DOC confirming that I be on time for the appointment with all of the pertinent documents & imaging, no-one at DOC had the courtesy to contact me to say they needed to reschedule. I drove 55 miles to see Dr. Dunn at the Southwest office... imagine my surprise when he wasn't there, he wasn't in emergency surgery - he was in court. I'm elderly & in pain...but I dressed up, kept a stiff upper lip, spent hours of time to see an MD, NOT a PA or his assistant. While they may be supremely qualified - they're not 'the doctor'. Without a full medical history or any sort of a hands on examination, the PA decided what would be in my best interest... but made no referral & did NOTHING to lessen pain. At the checkout desk...they only said "you need to come back in 6 weeks." WHO, in their right mind, would remain in untreated pain for 6 more weeks and 'come back'? It's really disconcerting to be treated like cattle in a factory medicine setting. Medicare pays & the Hippocratic oath is ignored. read more

If I could give zeros for inconsideration and indifference..I would. I hv been to desert ortho 3x..all times I arrived 15 minutes early..always waiting at least an hour!!! Last Friday, I arrived at 10:15 and was not seen til 1pm...yes, 2 1/2 hour wait only to have the PA see me when I specifically requested the doctor..they overbook, make you wait, and then make remarks like...this is a specialty practice.lol..lol..are you kidding me? The front staff is welcoming. I requested a call from the manager..nada...still waiting. Sadly, they are impervious to our time. You can sit and wait and wait and wait...I have an appointment next week. I will try one more time. If I am not seen within a half jour..ADIOS! the sad truth is the doctors..bassewitz and hancock are excellent...this waiting for appointment punctuality is unacceptable! read more

I want to start by saying they have the most dedicated and experienced surgeons. The Doctor's are great. Unfortunately the problem is trying to contact someone after your surgery. Had 2 office visits after my surgery. After stitches came out. I was told to come back in a month. Well that's not possible so I have to wait two months. I have been trying to get someone to ask if I need physical therapy for my foot. My toes will not go down. So far since 8/18 no one has gotten back to me . Sent 1 text, 2 emails, tried calling phone ringing then hangs itself up. My appointment is 9/29. So it's not the Doctor it's non exsitent after care for patients. Which is bad for me because I wanted to get my other foot done. Now I have to look for another place. Very frustrating and disappointed. read more

Summary: a well oiled machine of patients in and out but could be better overall. Main: unfortunate events and genetics placed me here to seek answers and alleviate pain. I've been here for various check ups but never went forward with an actual surgery. The customer service and patient care is hit or miss. Some of the technicians are extremely nice and friendly while some of the check in and check out staff can be downright stoic, stone faced and rather mean. Maybe fate may find me here again needing medical treatment but for now I like to just know that it is there. Staff is great. Dr. Song is amazing! Pre-surgery care went well, surgery was very successful, and so far post-surgery care is on point.

I have seen some of the best Orthopedic Surgeons in America in the Washington, DC area. Doctors who performed work on the Washington Redskins and Washington Bullets. As such, I would never recommend Dr. Hugh Bassewitz to any person, especially a person of color, after my personal experience with him. He was in my opinion arrogant, incompetent, vindictive, and even worse he engaged in what I perceived as egregious implicit racial bias on several occasions by suggesting dangerous exercises that I believe he would never have suggested to someone who wasn't black and very muscular like me particularly given my back problem and age. Lastly, I believe he abruptly dismissed me as a patient because I refused to take their Opioid Pain Management and become addicted for life with no real correction for my back issue. Countless studies have shown that all demographics of African Americans receive disparate treatment in every field of healthcare in America, including children, women, and men based on implicit racial bias and outright racial discrimination. Dr. Bassewitz initially misdiagnosed my severe low back pain based on X-Rays alone even though I told him the problem had existed for years. He kept telling me that I "didn't present" as the normal 66-year-old with Spinal Stenosis. I don't present like the typical 66-year-old period because I'm have been involved in sports, bodybuilder and have been involved in physical fitness for 50 years. I'm ex-Military, ex-LEO and workout or do cardio at least 4 or 5 days a week. This implicit racial bias in his mind resulted in my undergoing approximately three months of inappropriate physical therapy (PT) at their completely non-diversity staffed PT Clinic. It became apparent to me halfway through my PT that strengthening my core was a good plan but that an incorrect initial diagnosis had been made because my condition was getting worse. Yet, Dr. Bassewitz suggested that I add a new routine to my PT of placing 130 lbs. of barbells on my shoulders and start doing half squats at home. I weigh 200 pounds and have severe low back lumbar pain that makes it difficult to stand up from a chair or get into and out of bed daily. There is no way he would have made such a suggestion to a white patient that didn't look like a strong muscular blackbuck slave, as I assume is how he viewed me when he made the asinine suggestion. I looked at him with incredulity. He then ordered an MRI, which should have been ordered from the beginning. Based on the MRI, Dr. Bassewitz changed his diagnosis to a clear case of Spinal Stenosis and pointed out how visible and apparent it was on the MRI. He also admitted that physical therapy was not going to resolve the now obvious cause of my pain. We both agreed to a minimally invasive procedure to correct the problem. However, after an incompetent Doctor of Osteopath, named Winner Lee, at my former Primary Care's office, botched the pre-op evaluation that caused me to take months of unnecessary tests to be told there was no issue with my heart, Dr. Bassewitz wanted me to try cortisone shots. I agreed. However, when I visited their Pain Management Clinic, their intake form made it clear these people were in the business of dispensing opioids, not simply cortisone. I decided against it because I couldn't trust what they would inject into my back. After learning that I refused the "Pain Management" treatment and having received the new MRI and pre-op eval, Dr. Bassewitz with a "how dare you to refuse my decision supremacist tone" claimed that my new MRI report was miraculously better than my first MRI six months earlier and that I no longer had Spinal Stenosis and thus he could do nothing for me. That was a patently blatant lie that he told because I was a black man who had the audacity to refuse to take their Opioids. But I am glad he did because I had long suspected him of incompetence and implicit if not outright racial bias and that's the last type of person, I would want to perform surgery on my body. read more

This office and doctor have no qualities of care or respect. They order lots of very heavy items from the main shopping app multiple times per week and NEVER tip. It actually takes effort for them to go in and put $0 as a tip . They need to learn to respect the shoppers' time and effort. read more

Was referred here. Waited about an hour to see Dr. Perry for the first time. Staff was friendly however, after taking the X ray- The dr walks in with a resident and was told I would be speaking to the resident about my lower back pain I've been experiencing for months. Explained my symptoms and looked over mri results which do say in the report disc bulge. Then he went to look over the report with the dr but came back with the Physical assistant and was told to take anti inflammatory and start PT but told them It gives me heartburn and she said to continue with the famotide (heartburn and anti inflammatory med) for 14 days. But I've been on that medication- which is listed in my chart for 3 months. That was it. Told to come back 6 mos. Personally felt I should of seen the doctor I was assigned too, instead of passed to others. also felt they didn't bother to read the my chart or history and they were unconcerned and uncompassionate. More like your just a number. read more

So I've been going to desert Orthopaedic center for the last 8 months and just got home today from surgery. It's long passed time to write a review. I've been seeing Dr Daniel Lee since February for back pain/sciatica. He reviewed my MRI with me and said because I'm young, let's try more conservative therapy and time and see if it improves before considering surgery. Yes. A surgeon who doesn't want to just jump in and cut you up. First impression was good. I was improving a lot and going well. 3 months later, bad flare up. He recommended Dr Andrew Park in pain management to see if some steroid injections can at least relieve some pain while waiting for it to heal. Dr Andrew Park was just as awesome. Injections were great. He's amazing at what he does. Had follow ups and he and Lorenzo seemed to genuinely care about my pain and how to address it. After another flare up we did another MRI to see if there was any improvement. There wasn't. So we decided on surgery. Now I've seen complaints that some of the Dr's don't spend enough time in the appointments with you, but for routine follow ups why does he need to spend that time when an PA can do the same? (Who are also amazing people and great docs). However, when it came time and we decided on surgery, Dr Lee spent a good amount of time with me. Explained the process. The recovery. The risks. The possible recurrence, etc. Then on surgery day he stopped by while I was getting prepped a number of times, answered all my nervous and terrified questions lol, but even took the time to go to the lobby to grab my family himself to talk to them and explain it all. His time was all mine when it really mattered. His bedside manner, compassion, understanding of my fear, etc was second to none. To say I'm impressed is an understatement. He made sure we understood everything. Surgery went great. Basically 100% nerve pain relief. I walked without pain (aside from incision site) for the first time in 12 months and dang near cried. I can't recommend Dr Daniel Lee and Dr Andrew Park enough. Go to them. Listen to them. They will take care of you. I won't go without mentioning the office staff either. All have been amazing during my visits, helping me get appointments to work in my schedule, remembering me like I'm a person and not a number, and just general being nice. The cons? You'll wait on hold for scheduling appts for a bit. Appointments are usually a couple weeks out. Appointments will run long with some waiting. Wonder why though? Maybe because they are the best and everyone is trying to get in to see them. I would give them 10 stars if I could. read more
