Never stayed in a Yurt before. Was a beautiful and unique experience. The people who work in and around this property are so lovely, professional and willing to help. The bed was so damn comfy out of all the hotels that I have stayed at. This was just like sleeping in my own bed, soft and firm to just so cozy! I will definitely come back especially during the snow season. It was absolutely picturesque.

Such a cute, clean spot. Modern and luxurious, but still has that Tahoe charm. They have everything you need in the unit (from cutlery and cookware to toiletries). Short 10 min walk to the shops, restaurants, stateline, and beach. Would absolutely stay here again! They had a guitarist/singer who performed at the patio of the hotel's restaurant on one of the nights we were there and he was amazing (wish I caught his name)! We listened to him from our balcony for hours...he even acknowledged us and nodded our direction a few times when he noticed us watching, haha :) Our pup joined us on this particular trip and he enjoyed his stay too!

Had an amazing experience at the Desolation Hotel last weekend. The room was very comfortable, bathroom was spacious and the rain shower and outdoor tub were wonderful. The location is hard to beat - just a short walk to the village, restaurants and chairlift! Don't forget to check out the on site restaurant Maggie's. We had delicious short rib there for dinner and the breakfast omelet is so good. 10/10 recommend a stay here!

What a beautiful addition to the South Lake Tahoe community. It's brings such an upscale atmosphere but still with in walking distance from the Main Street. I stayed here for two nights this past April 2024 and look forward to my next visit. We stayed in the studio which had a full kitchen, bed, couch with pull out bed. Tons of storage, full bathroom and patio with an outdoor tub. Since it was April we caught one day with a little snow and the next day was low 70s and we got to dip in the pool which is heated. The highlight of the hotel is Maggie's restaurant we were at the bar every night and we did brunch one day the short ribs Benedict was amazing!

When: June 15-17 Building C-5 or was it B -5 Everything is in the details and communication, good attitudes, even better friends What to know before you go: I started this list of places and things important to my husband and I for our anniversary. I had a list of hotels I was calling them up, crossing off my must haves and compromises, when I got Stefani man was I happy she answered, friendly attentive sold me on how DH pretty much had everything I wanted (e-bikes $65, clear SUP free).. etc etc The perks of staying here is a Techies dream def in the thoughtful details of the townhome. Definitely Definitely forgot to factor in Altitude Sickness. Not that it changed my plans but I did experience it while staying at DH and might have helped knowing the telltale signs ahead of time. TIPS: Their lobby hours are 7:30/8am to 9pm. The pool and gym 7:30-10pm, their sauna is by appointment (for hygienic reasons) to clean in between guests, and maggie's closes at 9p or 10p. The townhomes are (standard garages) so be prepared for a tighter fit if you bring a truck like we did. additionally, two flights of stairs in townhomes. (be careful) I sure wasn't! (ha-ha) Def suggest scaling down on your wardrobe & luggage if staying in the townhouse. They have dyson hairdryers with the latest Extension Their entire team we met were so kind. They even gifted us a bottle of champagne upon our arrival that was delicious! Additionally the beautiful compound we were taken to on a private beach where Chet and Richard explained to us how to Stand Up paddle board! It was insane, but we loved it. The choppiest water for first timers but we did it! woo! This is why we came to Tahoe. I believe the people you meet the animals who greet you and the things you experience are how memories are made. DH delivered beyond any of our expectations. Tahoe & DH has become a new home away from home! TY DH and team for hosting us. We can't wait to share the footage with our friends and family. Next time we're visiting we agreed we want to come back and also check out 'Hope Valley' and cross it off our bucket list. -SDR

We stayed here for 3 nights in March 2025. Awesome place to stay. Very cozy and homey! The bathtub outside was a great addition. CG was sweet to us and let us book another night when our flight got cancelled. Can't wait to come back!

Traveled from the SF Bay Area to Carson City on business. Lake Tahoe was calling.........I listened ! First of all, I was incredibly fortunate to speak with Jess. She was welcoming on the phone and in person. Without all the details of my somewhat complicated life (ha), I stepped into an oasis of comfort. Greeting me with a glass of wine, Jess detailed the generous amenities....easy walk to the beach, hot tub, pool, sauna, pelotons, Maggie's restaurant...and so much more. The room is amazing....every amenity so thoughtfully provided. Listening to soft jazz and enjoying the outdoor tub on my balcony....good night moon.

This hotel is stunning. My husband and I stayed here for our 8 year wedding anniversary and had such an amazing time. We relaxed on the balcony and ate dinner at Maggie's. We loved the sauna and even just relaxing by in the hot tub. We had a phenomenal time and could not stop raving about how beautiful and well thought out the entire property is. The only downfall is that the breaker tripped twice in our townhome making the power in the entire unit go out while we were there which was quite annoying for the amount we paid. The first time it happened we were lucky enough to catch the front desk woman before she left for the night. The second time it happened early in the morning which we could not access the garage(where the breaker is) without the help of the front desk so we had to wait until they arrived for their shift. She did say they filed a report with maintenance to check it out so hopefully it doesn't happen to anyone else. Overall we will be back this was one of the most beautiful hotels we've stayed at.

This place is a mini paradise; you have everything you need within walking distance, and if you choose not to go out you have space within the room to bring your own food and supplies as they have a full kitchen, washrooms, laundry room two patios and one with a bath outside. This place is very lovely I recommend staying here if you are looking for a lavish getaway but still right in the middle of the fun.

The most incredible hotel I have ever stayed at! I stayed at the El Dorado Townhome and it was such ana amazing experience. Upon arrival, the stay was immaculately clean and decked out with all sorts of gadgets including heated bathroom floors and fireplaces in living room and bedrooms. The staff were amazing and friendly for every situation. I even left something on the property after leaving and they were prompt in shipping my item back to me. Just a 10/10 experience. Will definitely book again!

Speaking of which, though we did stay Sunday to Tuesday, if there were 3 other people on the private beach along with us, it was a lot...really private. The condo itself was decent, though a bit dated as is typical for Tahoe. That said, very comfortable, fully equipped kitchen. Unlike the lodge, the condos are individually owned so each one will be furnished differently. None of the units have A/C, but numerous fans are provided for warmer months. Out stay the temps outside were perfect so no need. Our unit also had a wood burning fireplace for those looking to come up in the winter, they even have ski lockers. The pool and hot tub were clean...pool a little chilly, the tub perfectly heated. There is also a fire pit, cornhole and a volleyball net for those so inclined. Beach chairs and towels are also provided, a nice touch. As with everything, a little pricey but you are right on the lake and, oh yeah, a really private beach. Plenty of free parking and a short stroll down the beach or on the street to restaurants (right behind Heidi's...the best breakfast on the lake!!), water craft rentals and close to groceries. All in all, a great 3 day staycation to celebrate our honeymoon (they surprised us with wine). Again, thank you Jose and the team for making it even better!

Our 15 year old had just passed and so our 12 year old was a little lost and loved all of the attention. She was treated just like one of the family. They even allow dogs on the free shuttle which is so perfect so we were able to go into the village and have lunch with her. It's a downhill walk back and so pretty, so we enjoyed the fresh air back. We had dinner one night in the restaurant and it is the best meal I've had in Tahoe. The Venison is unbelievably tender and flavorful. My husband loved his homemade pasta with huge prawns. Our server, Kevin, went above and beyond to make the night special. They even let us take a few pictures in the bar area which I think turned out really cool with all of the bottles and colors in the background. Of course we all come for Tahoe! This place is right on a perfect spot. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, some trees and grassy areas also made for perfect pictures. Although the Hyatt beach is temporarily closed for construction, the resort has arranged access to nearby private beaches for guests. They also run a shuttle every few minutes, making it very easy to get around. If you're looking for a livelier atmosphere, the public beach is only a short drive away. The pools were wonderful. The main pool is heated to approximately 80-85°F and features a fun cave area. There's also a kiddie pool, plus separate hot tubs for adults and children. Poolside service was an added bonus. Every evening from 5:00-10:00 p.m., the resort provides complimentary s'mores kits that can be enjoyed in a fire pit near the pool area. This was such a fun family activity and one of those little touches that made the stay feel extra special. The café opens at 6:30 a.m., and if you order regular brewed coffee, you receive complimentary refills until 10:00 p.m. that evening, a great perk for coffee lovers. The only area that fell short for us was the food. Most of what we ordered was fairly heavy and greasy. To be fair, there is a Cyclospora outbreak in the US, so we chose not to order fresh salads, fruits, or vegetables out of an abundance of caution, which limited our options. The main restaurant "cutthroat saloon" had live music which made dinner enjoyable. There are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby, however, and we didn't get the opportunity to try Osteria Sierra, which may have been a better dining choice. My only other criticism involves one interaction with room service. After providing my room number, I asked if I could order room service, and the employee replied, "Well, that's why you called, didn't you?" It came across as unnecessarily sarcastic and unwelcoming. It was an isolated interaction, but it stood out because every other staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and professional. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The resort itself is beautiful, the amenities are outstanding, and the customer service especially from Alec at the front desk, the concierge, and the bell staff was exceptional. We would absolutely consider staying here again
