I was blessed with the opportunity of walking in while they were setting up Christmas charities pop-up shops inside the place... It has been a while since the last time I saw so many good hearted people in the same place... Even cynical me, who shuns Christian radio music was just... Happy inside! Not only because of the ambience, but also the food and the coffee. I love coffee, I know coffee... There's good coffee, and then there's coffee that puts a smile on your face... And then there's their coffee! They probably grow their own coffee in tribal lands because this is a whole new level of coffee. I ordered the Cuban panini just out of curiosity. Well... bad news, it is not a real Cuban panini in the sense that it didn't have all the traditional ingredients with the classic preparation that a Cuban sandwich should have. Good news! If was effin awesome! The bread, the hint of garlic, the press technique, all came together in a fantastic way To wash it down: hazelnut Italian soda. Also great! Enough ice to keep it cold, but not enough ice to water it down, or as an obvious cost-cutting move. Also, sweet enough to make it good... I for one, hate when people put so much syrup that an Italian soda becomes beetus juice True story: I drove 40 miles to get here just to to work in peace, away from the cabins where family was staying... And I hit gold!

Miss Oodie's Paradise Donuts - The reindeer donuts are adorable and that little salty crunch of the pretzels with the donut is sooo yummy!

It was the 4th of July and even with a large amount of traffic they handled the line in a timely manner. The cashier was so funny, we paid "$19 Million dollars" for our donuts for 4. The food was great and they had inside seating that held the crowd. Definitely will be back when in town!

Decided to bring home some cake and glazed dozens for my family and I had a Bavarian cream filled one for me on the way home. Solid selection at 8:30 on a Saturday when it's a busy little shop with families off to sports outings and doing their shopping. Fast service. Owners were nice. Threw in extra donut holes. For 1/2 dozen cake and glazed and a Bavarian cream chocolate frosted donut, all of which were decent. Not the best, but solid donuts, I paid about $9. Not bad for what I took home and put smiles on my family members' faces. It's a pretty standard little donut shop. Nothing special inside. Seating is ample for the space. Plenty of drink options in some fridges. Would come back if we wanted a sweet treat while visiting the in-laws, but not necessarily a spot I'd specifically drive the 15-minutes to Checotah for.

The parking lot was packed with cars. A long line of customers were outside, waiting for their turn at the trough. Plan "B." On south to LAKe Country Diner. Turn left on Highway 9 when the traffic clears. Traffic? on Highway 9? Yes, this is Saturday morning. Highway 9 is lined with miles and miles of road side flea markets, junk sales, garage sales, yard sales, and there is always a stationary exercise bike to be found. Some folks just pull off the side of the road and try to sell whatever the hell is in the back of their truck; like pit bull mix puppies, kittens and suspicious looking power tools of untraceable origin (if you know what I mean). Customers were swarming. Parked bumper to bumper in the ditches and shoulder of the road. Pulling out, pulling in. In every direction..... The parking lot at LAKe Country diner was also crowded with cars. Park on the grass. Surprised; the inside of the diner is roomy. Even with the crowd there were plenty of tables and booths available. Seat yourself. The waitresses were having to hustle. Eventually we had coffee and menus. They have an excellent breakfast buffet. Me, sticking with the usual cooked to order. (Check the pictures and video.) I expected a long wait. The meal was on the table in minutes. Prepared exactly as ordered. Good food, good service and they can handle a large volume of customers. Tip: Don't go looking for breakfast on Saturday mornings during flea market season! Oh, and finally the winner of today's best diner table top advertising "Milty the Septic Guy." Milty, for some reason seems like an appropriate nickname for a person in this business. Here is the important part, take note of the PD after his name. That really means something. It means he is licensed to handle crap under pressure! Don't believe that...Google it.

It was $12/person and was so good! I'll be back!
