Now 10 1/2 years old my daughter has followed my nieces footsteps. My girlfriend is ending her time with Hype and We are only buckling up and getting ready for the ride! Because of the dedication, training and support of the all choreographers, Hypersquad parents, family and friends my daughter is now out of her shell and on Competition team! Mariah (now 7) had such an amazing time at concert and already told me she wants to be in every single number next year LOL. I wanted to say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for everyone at the studio doing what you do for all of the students. I will definitely volunteer in the dressing room again next year and I will have a better idea of the flow. The concert was amazing as always and well worth it in my family's opinion. We look forward to many more concerts in the future. I noticed this year it was a hard to see the "little ones" perform because they were often behind much taller students or far off to the side. That is the one thing I noticed that could be improved on for next year but not a big deal as hopefully we will have the girls taking more classes next year allowing them to be in more numbers. I have gained life-long friendships and my love for dance remains. Now, as a parent, I send my five year old daughter to dance ballet, tap and hip-hop. The teachers at RWDA are amazing. My daughter went to another studio previously, and while I loved the studio and teachers, the classes were chaotic and the teacher to student ratio was 1:10. At RWDA, I believe the ratio (for her 5 year old class) is more like 1:3. My daughter thoroughly enjoys dancing at RWDA and I attribute this love for dance and performing to the teachers. The school keeps all parents up to date with policies/procedures and are very attentive to parent's suggestions/questions. All teachers are courteous, professional and genuinely care about the kids. RWDA usually holds about three to four performances per year. One large performance in June, one Christmas performance in December and another here and there after their performance sometime in July or August. RWDA's rates are very reasonable. They do not "nickel and dime" you and try to "take your money." They attempt to fit your child into larger shoes (ballet/tap/jazz) so that your child can grow into it. Their costume prices, leotards, tights and shoes are also reasonably priced. It is apparent that RWDA is committed to ensure that cost does not deter parents from enrolling their children in dance. Parking is tight... however if your child attends a Sunday or weekday class, this is not an issue. All in all, I highly recommend this studio because of the teacher's ability to capture a child's attention, inspire them and make them feel comfortable. I hope that my child will have the same experiences I did at RWDA. I believe that RWDA is the best studio to cultivate my child's love for dance.

I have to hand it to my fellow Yelpers for the stellar recommendation; Ed was great. He is clearly passionate about what he does, and he and his wife Juliet are very accommodating. We have very busy schedules, and they rescheduled our sessions multiple times and met us in the evenings after work and even on weekends. We would be exhausted and many times did not even feel like going to dance lessons, but then we would end up having so much fun. Afterwards, we were always glad that we went. At times, it was very stress-relieving and even calming to go in. This is largely due to the fact that Ed and Juliet are such nice people, and they make dancing fun. Just to provide some context, we attended private dance lessons about once a week for a couple of months before our wedding. We had no real prior dancing experience. I usually feel really uncomfortable dancing. But Ed was very patient and went through basic dance steps just to get us more used to things. After we finally picked a first dance song, he practiced everything from the entrance through to the end of the dance. He tailored the moves to us and our song. There were many times that we just changed things so that they just felt more comfortable. We did not get a one-size-fits-all type of dance. That makes it all the more special. Just so you know Ed used to be a dance instructor for, I think, Arthur Murray before he had his own studio, so in going with Ed, you get Arthur Murray instruction but for a much more reasonable price. Due to an injury, he cannot dance as much as he would like to, but he often times would still show us how to do certain dance moves by bringing in Juliet to our dance session. I think Ed is due for a surgery, so he will be up and running again. However, the bottom line is that the best instructor is one who can teach people who do not know how to dance how to dance. And Ed is very good at that.

This review is in regards to the Zumba class I recently took at Studio 808…read more Studio 808 is located in the heart of Waipahu next to the iconic Leeward Drive-Inn. I've heard of Studio 808's dance programs but have never taken a class until I heard about the Zumba class being offered there. You can take the stairs or elevator to the 2nd floor and reach the studio on the Leeward Drive-Inn side. Once arriving, there is a front desk area set up in front of the studio where people were manning. You can pay in cash or Venmo (I did the mobile pay option because I didn't have cash). Fortunately, Studio 808 has also catered the Zumba class as a remote class so you can actually sign up for the class and dance from home by watching the instructor. Upon arriving to the class, the room was overall clean and spacious. Because the class is also done virtually, there wasn't many people in the room. The Zumba instructor was Erin and I have nothing but great things to say about him. As someone who isn't a dancer, Erin was kind enough to teach the lessons via virtual cam and in-person. The overall class was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the music better at Studio 808 compared to the Zumba classes I take at 24 Hour Fitness. I would definitely recommend to go with Erin because he's exudes positive energy, always smiles while breaking a sweat and definitely knows what he's doing. I was even watching the participants online (who were older folks) and they seemed to thoroughly enjoy the class at home as they would in studio. If you're up for doing a Zumba class in Waipahu (or simply at your own home), I would definitely recommend this class to take. Admission is about $7 per class but the first class is free! Classes are every Tuesday from 6-7pm.
