The hotel staff is very hospitable and helpful. The rooms are beautifully decorated with artwork and feel very traditionally Mexican. The owner is from Italy and he built the place to his specifications. All I can say is that he must really love Mexico because it shows throughout every aspect of this hotel. As the name suggests, yes there are lots of flowers here, even in winter. The outside of the hotel has several different levels, which gives it a sort of tree house feel. There is a staircase going that way, and a spiral staircase going a different way, and another spiral case going to a restaurant... Yes, there is also an Italian restaurant on one side in front of the hotel. The location is a short walk from most attractions, which makes it a great location. They also offer what they called a free continental breakfast. To put it simply, it's the best continental breakfast that I have ever experienced because they, the staff, wait on your table and offers you daily specials that are absolutely delicious. When I hear continental breakfast, I'm thinking self serve cereal, fruit, milk, boiled eggs and coffee. They introduced me to machaca, pulverized dried beef, and egg burritos with freshly made flour tortillas which were so good that I had to ask for a seconds. Yes, it was that delicious! Without a doubt, my next visit has to include a stay at this beautiful boutique hotel by the sea!

Thank you Liliana, Oliver and Cristian for making our stay amazing. The hotel also had a beautiful rooftop over looking the malecón that we loved and enjoyed our morning coffee and sunsets from. The Italian restaurant attached to the hotel was also amazing. The rooms were so cozy and beautiful and the entire property was so clean and filled with stunning plants. We will definitely be back! The town is home to the Hotel California which may or may not be the same one referenced in the Eagles song? Apparently, this place existed way before the Eagles song. But they claim that it's not the one in the song? Anyhow, there are many nearby beach towns that are also nice. Apparently, there are many well off folks that visit because most shops don't have any printed price labeling on their selling items. Which is a minor thing that I was not fond of because everything was a negotiation. Having visited many parts of Mexico I am fairly aware of the value of many of the selling items. Therefore, I knew that my beginning negotiating price was going to start on the high end when I catch the seller scanning my designer sunglasses, shoes, and clothes?!? It's okay, because I quickly made them aware of the value and origins of the products they were trying to get me to buy. Being a small town, I only dedicated two days here which I believe an adequate amount of time.

We came for the day to check it out with a guide. The whole way here the landscape is high desert but once you get near the town it opens up like an oasis in the desert. It's on the Tropic of Cancer which affords a complete tropical climate. It is so strange and fabulous. They can grow everything here from massive cacti to bananas. The town is small, artsy and pretty touristy. The surrounding areas are just waiting for the big resorts to buy and move in and face the massive Pacific Ocean with the most incredible unspoiled beaches and phenomenal pounding waves. It is a sight to behold. It will be great for the local economy but on the other hand sad to think of all the development heading their way.
