The music is WAY TOO LOUD! WAY!!!! The bass vibrations…read morerattled my entire body. The sound mix technician should be replaced. I had to put my AirPod Pros in on noise cancellation mode just to cope with the dangerously loud decibels that overwhelming this place. There are zero people here over the age of 40. The person giving the message was clearly anti-Trump and said she was bothered by everything that's happened in the past two months, (since Trump took office). I am an elder in Christ's church and didn't feel comfortable at this place at all. I was only here because of a family gathering, but would never choose to go to City Church on my own accord. Did I mention how brutally LOUD the music is? It was absolutely deafening!!!! Seriously folks, turn the volume down. It is horrifically disgusting how loud it is. There are NO acoustic tiles anywhere. There's a black metal ceiling above the rafters and sound bounces around at unsafe levels that should not be sustained by anyone on planet earth.

They're a little more casual than some of the other Bible Belt Baptist churches (or have been when i've been there) so i think that anyone would probably feel welcome. Rumor has it they have cookies and hot beverages after the service. Come for the preaching and stay for the cookies.

although the church is not the parish where i've attended mass most often lately, i'd decided to go…read moreto church at the location tonight because of a desire i've been having to practice the sacrament of reconciliation before the easter holiday coming next week. and fortunately, the sacrament was being offered by a priest when i'd arrived about 15 minutes before the service, at which time i was pointed to the line for the confessionals through a door at the back left of the main church area. then, even when i had not got to the front of the line before the start of mass, the priest still accepted me to the confessional for a reconciliation practice overlapping with the early parts of the church service. while i'll omit the details from my practice of the sacrament, i'm glad to have reconnected with the practice after a rather long break, and will add that the priest announced at the end of service that the sacrament of reconciliation is being offered at the church again on friday from 12pm to 3pm before a stations of the cross service. further, to give a brief reflection of the mass service, i'm thankful for the additional pomp and congregational participation at the palm sunday service, among which a the distribution of palms at the front vestibule and a gospel reading with congregational response sections included in commemoration of the condemnation and crucifixion of jesus. and such special aspects of the service were in addition standard practices i'd noticed from today and previous experiences of the church service at the location, such as a concluding song with lyrics about the "body of christ" that i think is a way of unifying the parish community through tradition.

momma and i arrived from cincinnati, after turning onto that street after getting off the denver…read moreexit from the ba, and we found parking in the lot across the street from the east facing entrance to the church. even before entering the door, i'd seen the catwalk rafters out front, similar to those i saw on a trip to new york city, with those around the church functioning for an ongoing renovation project on the building exterior. then, once inside, upon settling into a pew seat and seeing the bench and kneeler were about the same as i recollected from attending church there more regularly while going to school in the adjoining building and on sporadic visits since then, i'd mentioned to moms that graphic panels on each side altar of the church, along with the relocation of the fr. stanley rother bust, were new features of the church design i'd not seen since previously attending church at the cathedral, and then i'd recognized too that the stations of the cross around the church perimeter also had a fresh paint scheme. further, the mass service in and of itself was nostalgic in that many details, including the altar decor, server cassocks, and use of incense, reminded me of the primary time period, or glory days, so to speak, of going to and serving at mass at the church, and the priest celebrating mass represented to me a ideal balance between recognition from experience within the diocese of tulsa and someone with whom i've have limited enough interaction as to not allow previous encounters to detract from present engagement. all in all, it was a beautiful mass service, with synergistic deacon and nun participation and leadership, a consummate performance from the altar servers, and a display of poiseful celebrant presence.

That was Sunday morning and we enjoy our time there. The church interior color is colorful with yellow orange and white. It makes the contrast very nicely presented. This church probably can seat four hundred people. It is located in the church district downtown. Compare to many churches in Sunday, they have the most believers.

They are the most loving, accepting church I have ever attended. This is my home church and I would recommend it to anyone. They believe in second chances for people that have been in trouble. The Pastor and his wife are truely amazing. If you can't find a home church where you feel completly comfortable....try God's Shining Light.

I haven't actually attended any services at Memorial Baptist Church. However, I go every Tuesday…read moresince they host Bible Study Fellowship there. To me, the fact that a church is willing to lend their facilities to a ministry so vital and important to many speaks volumes. Every week, they let us take over and have our lectures and bible studies here. It is such a blessing to all the women that attend (probably around 300!). The church itself is gorgeous too. The chapel has beautful stained glass windows and the pews are spacious. The children's are is also very spacious which is comfortable.
