The receptionist was incredibly kind and welcoming, with a calm and caring attitude that immediately helped ease my nerves. As I was taken back, the staff member assisting me was amazing. Unfortunately, I was so nervous that names didn't stick, but she patiently answered all of my questions, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and helped keep me calm throughout the process. When Dr. Miller came in, I was still very anxious. I had seen some reviews mentioning that he wasn't particularly bubbly, so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, my experience was completely positive. He recognized how nervous I was and was both respectful and understanding. He gave me the option to either walk through the entire procedure or simply get started so I could get it over with--whatever made me most comfortable. Before the anesthesia, we had a brief conversation, and then he reassured me that he was about to give me the medication I had been waiting for so I could finally relax. The care I received truly changed my perspective. Every member of the team treated me with kindness, professionalism, and compassion. I had nine teeth removed, and as I write this the day after surgery, I have virtually no pain--just a little expected discomfort. If I ever need oral surgery again, Siouxland Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery will absolutely be my first choice. The roots of the teeth in his lower jaw had grown quite long and extended down very close to the mandibular nerve. I'm not ashamed to say I was nervous while waiting for him to come out of surgery. We opted to have the Exparel pain relief administered as part of the procedure and are Very glad we did. I had the worst experience that I ever had with the dentist or orthodontics. I was complaining…read moreabout pain full-time before I got a second shot with the anesthesia. I feel like I was rushed the whole time. I was seating in a chair for half an hour waiting for the doctor and when he got there, I needed to go to the bathroom. He asked me if I could wait and I said I had to go. I've been sitting here for 30 minutes so I went to the bathroom to pee and took me only two minutes by the time I came back. He was already gone for another five minutes when he came back give me my shot really quick. I complained about pain again and complain about pain again and he continue trying to pull the tooth. I felt rush and move on; I never felt like this before. And the other his assistant, she was super nice. Help me out with everything. She asked me if I wanted warm towel or a one black blanket and she made me feel better but I feel like the doctor was just rushing too finish and move on. and I also think that now I have a cracked tooth next to the tooth that was removed so I had to go back to my dentist to see what he says about that. horrible experience,and I'm not going back there.
