Many of the items are more on the high-end side, more stylistically distinctive and somewhat pricier than the inventories of most antique shops. The proprietor packs quite a lot of pieces into a single level of the house that houses the shop, and you'd be wise not to bring small or unruly children, as there's lots of glass and so many curiosities that it would be a challenge for ever Super Nanny to control tiny, grabby hands. It might also be a good idea to call ahead for hours of operation. We drove by a couple of times, only to see that it was closed. On one Saturday morning, racks of vintage clothing had been placed out on the porch, leading us to believe that the store was open for business, so we drove on into the driveway and to the parking lot in the rear, prompting the owner to ask if he could help us. It wasn't open, though it sort of looked it, and we were told that they weren't open until 11 a.m. When we returned, there was a sign that said they wouldn't be open on an upcoming Saturday. All good, of course, but it would behoove you to call ahead.

This ski shop is right at the…read morefront entrance of the ski resort and while we had originally planned to rent our snowboard gear from the Belleayre Ski Resort, there was a huge sign right outside the Belleayre Ski Shop that said something along the lines of 'save $10' so we decided to stop by. From helmets to shoes and snowboards, they guided us seamless through the selection process, ensuring that everything fit correctly. We arrived at around 10AM on a Saturday and we were pleasantly surprised to find no wait time. We rented snowboard gear (helmet, shoes, board) and the total cost for the gear came to $54, a much better value than the resort! We'll definitely be returning for our future snow adventures.

If you're looking for champagne flutes on a beer glass budget- this isn't for the trifter in mind. But do spend a little time though- going through piles of costume jewelry, small metal furniture plus other uncommon finds.

A shiny aqua Vespa sat in the sunny parking lot. Once inside, it's floor to ceiling and every nook of space inside countless curios of treasure. Tiny apothecary bottles with 19th century medicinal "cure" labels; taxidermy specimens of all sizes; antique plates; shaving brushes; modern swords, shuriken, even a batarang; glassware smoking paraphranelia; and a delightful selection of canes. The second room contains a wondrous wooden dry bar with red velvet and iron barstools where the owners sometimes sit with friends. Swords and animal heads are mounted on the walls. That is insulting and rude no matter what party affiliation. The woman who rented the kayaks to us was not only vague about the licenses and paperwork necessary but completely unclear about the directions to the kayaks. When we called her for clarification, she informed us that we just were very bad at following directions. It took us two hours winding through the hills to finally get on the water when the location was very close. Final note - the locks to the kayaks were rusty and almost impossible to open. However, the location is stunning and we had a wonderful time kayaking. Suggestion to PBT: since there is no cell service for a GPS a clear and descriptive map including mileage to the destination would be helpful. AND, get rid of the insults plastered on the door.
