Montalvo is the kinda big fish in small pond type of game that is kind of annoying. I mean, I'm all about supporting local businesses, but the uppity attitude of a local gone big is just too much sometimes. They love the fact that they carry so many name brands (their jewelery collection includes Scott Kay, Yurman, and Dweck and their watch collection includes Jaeger, Breitling, and Omega), but they kinda flaunt it. To them, if it carries a name brand, that should sell itself and they shouldn't have to do any work. The salespeople here are trained to be pretty and smile a lot. And point out the diamonds. Evidently that's what makes things worth buying. I have huge issues with salespeople that don't know their out merchandise. If you don't know the material, at least look it up. Each of these major brands will give booklets explaining their pieces--the least you could do is get the book out and pretend to look for an answer to my question. My other major beef with this store (and this really happens in most places in the Valley, so I can't be too upset about it) is that if you don't look like you speak Spanish, they'll talk about you right in front of your face. No, I'm not Hispanic, but I do speak Spanish and telling your employee not to give me too much time is just stupid. Spanish is just so commonly spoken, I'm not sure why you'd think that would be okay. In the end though, they can get some hard to find pieces and they generally are pretty professional. I'm willing to give them that extra half star only because they are the lesser of some other evils as far as jewelery stores in McAllen. In other cities they just wouldn't last.

Uno no va a comprar una joya de casi 1,500 para que en unos meses la tenga que reconstruir totalmente. Es un pésimo error de fabricación y no se responsabilizan y aparte te quieren estar cobre y cobre por las reparaciones . Ultima vez que compro en este lugar. Que feos que no reconozcan que están haciendo el broche muy mal. Y si son niños y son activos, las primeras 2 también son de niños activos y a esas no les a pasado ese problema. I saw jewelry, including a gold chain, being advertised for sale through a TikTok account that represented itself as being connected to this jewelry business. Based on the TikTok posts and the information provided through the account, I believed I was dealing with a legitimate jewelry business. I proceeded with the purchase and sent the requested payment for the gold chain. After receiving my money, the seller stopped responding to my messages and has not provided the jewelry or a reasonable explanation regarding my payment. The seller also emailed me a receipt for the transaction, which I have uploaded with this review as documentation. I have also retained screenshots of the TikTok account, the jewelry advertisement, my communications with the seller, and proof of payment. This is extremely serious. If this TikTok account is falsely representing itself as this business, other customers could potentially be at risk of losing their money as well. I am asking Google to investigate this business listing and the TikTok account representing itself as this business. If the account is fraudulent or falsely representing this business, I am asking Google to take appropriate action and remove or restrict the fraudulent account/listing. I am also asking the business to publicly clarify whether this TikTok account is legitimately affiliated with them. If it is not, the business should immediately warn customers and take steps to prevent others from being misled. DO NOT SEND MONEY UNTIL YOU HAVE VERIFIED WHO YOU ARE ACTUALLY DEALING WITH.
