My daughter was a delayed roller, crawler, and stander so when she was 8 months old I brought her to the incredible team at Developmental Steps for help. They quickly diagnosed her with Torticollis and helped her in office and showed me how to help her at home. They even were kind enough to suggest taking video of them doing the stretches because they know it can be overwhelming for parents of young babies to remember these things. Or at least I had trouble retaining :) I will never forget the first time she rolled over how emotional I was and how excited the PT helping us was. Same when she first kneeled and stood on her own. We recently attended Developmental Steps free tummy time workshop, run by Hayley, with my 5 week old daughter. We had also attended the free workshop with my now 2 year, when he was an infant, so we were ahead of the game with knowledge this time around. Hayley teaches different strategies to make tummy time fun for our little one. She also explains how tummy time can affect future developmental steps. Since we started tummy time when my daughter was only 1 week old, based on the encouragement from developmental steps, she was already doing fairly well at tummy time, which was totally different from my son at this point. While my daughter was doing well, it never hurts to attend the free workshop to gain more knowledge and further building tools. Hayley was positive and encouraging the entire time. When our son, Will, was 4 months old, he was diagnosed with infant torticollis. Our pediatrician recommended that we go see Developmental Steps to work on strengthening his neck and core and to help alleviate the torticollis and to make sure Will was hitting milestones properly. We were introduced to Hayley and the Developmental Steps team, and we couldn't be happier. Hayley is exceptional with her work, and she goes above and beyond when it comes to helping (she quite literally met us at the office on her day off because our son was having an unusual muscle spasm episode, to help relieve the pain). I came to Developmental steps through a referral for my infant's torticollis diagnosis. Holly and Joe were so comforting and helped me to understand what we can do to help to strengthen and stretch my little one's neck and core. The facility is easily accessible and I have seen great improvement in my child's strength.
