Two of my children went to Hope and I can't say anything but nice things about the teachers they…read moreemploy there. I sent my children to Hope because my brothers and sisters all went to there and I knew it was a good school with amazing teachers and a lot of friends still recommended it. I do not have any plans to send my third child there as my experience this year was unacceptable. In past years there's been some issues here and there with the director. One was when my son had eye surgery; an effect of it was extremely bloodshot eyes. He was self conscious about it to begin with but then on his first day back at school the director announces loudly Oh My God what happened to his eyes. An adult should know not to do something like that and if she had questions she could have asked myself privately or his teachers who were well aware of the surgery and the side effects and had been prepping the kids for my son's return. Another issue we had was the director waited extremely long to cash checks. Months would go by and they wouldn't be cashed. But the kicker and final straw occured this year while my son as well as many others approached his teacher and the director about a bullying situation. Another child was picking on the boys of the class and hitting, pinching, kicking etc. This went on and on and on and the teacher didn't really do much. So finally myself and another parent addressed it to the director who let it roll right down her back like it was nothing. It got to the point where kids were terrified to go to school because of this child but since the school accepts all children they could not do anything. They also have no anti-bully rules and were unwilling to create them for the current school year. One day my son came home from school actually bleeding from the child and again I was told that they didn't actually see it happen so nothing would be done unless they could see it. She then went on to tell me that you can't just accuse people without facts even though 50% of the class had admitted to parents as well as the teacher they've been bullied. My response to that was look at the legal system every day criminals go on trial based on assumptions and she agreed that was a good point but I was still wrong and they would continue doing things they way she felt was best. She actually told me that they've only ever removed one child from their program due to the fact he continuously threw chairs!!!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing that a child had to on more than one occassion throw chairs at people before they were removed from the school. I want my children to be safe when they go to school and that statement right there proved that they are not safe at Hope Church Nursery School.

We googled hope school to get the address so we could send the teachers a Christmas card (we still…read morekeep in touch even though our three kids are out now) and saw the prior review. Felt inspired to give a personal perspective on hope in response. Hope is a wonderful place. Terrific, experienced teachers, a great group of kids and families, and charming and fun term end concerts. Our kids have great memories of Hope, and I still remember dropping off teary three year olds on the first day only to have them later on refuse to leave at the end of the morning because they loved their time there so much. It is a classic nursery school, probably not much different than the one I attended 4 decades ago, run by a warm and energetic director and fantastic teachers. We were lucky to have had the kids there.

The school is safe, nurturing, and educational within developmentally appropriate expectations. The staff at Lightbridge are truly dedicated to providing the best possible care for the children in their care. We've had exceptional teachers throughout the years, however Allison in particular stands out each day. Although their title is education coordinator, it is easily seen that they play any role needed day to day. I've seen her jump in to help pat my child to sleep for naptimes, handle any issues that arise with grace and compassion, greet my children by name each morning, and play silly roles like dressing up on groundhogs day. They truly seem to enjoy their job and make it more than just a job. The facilities at Lightbridge in Allentown are clean, safe, and well-maintained. There are facial recognition cameras to enter the facility, live stream cameras in each classroom for parent viewing, and their own app to keep you updated on day to day tasks. There is also a large outdoor play area where the children can run, play, and explore with two separate playground areas with sprinklers for water play in summers. My husband and I both work in the healthcare field with sometimes long hours. At times, this results in my children being at school more hours than I'd like. In an ideal world, we'd get to have our babies with us 24/7. Since this is not possible, Lightbridge is able to calm my very anxious mom heart, knowing my children love their school, are well cared for, and are thriving.

We had originally planned to move after building a house but loved the staff at Lightbridge so much we kept our child there permanently. All the staff genuinely care so much for our son which means everything to us. We are so thankful at their attention to detail as our son has a LIFE THREATENING allergy. Miss Jayzel and Miss Allison handled an emergency with our son when he had an allergic reaction so well we were so thankful for their attention to detail and keeping our son safe. All the teachers truly love what they do and it shows. Miss Allison is so friendly and involved with the kids she exemplifies what a caring teacher and person should look like!
