Summary: TJ Vision Optical's lenses without coating costed $150 + $48 for anti-glare coating (almost $200 total). The prescription came out with peripheral straining which gave a headache with use and that never resolved. After verbalizing my frustration with the product, the optometrist Dr. Jose Alberto Monier Siguenza stopped responding to my texts and calls and completely ghosted me forcing me to pay for an additional set of lenses from Walmart which costed only $130 after taxes while ALSO INCLUDING anti-glare coating and blue-light coating which did NOT have the issue of peripheral straining. Found this location on Yelp and saw it had a few great reviews unlike how the other locations didn't have any reviews. This location seemed like it was trustworthy and the website advertised great prices. The vendor did not respond to any of my emails when I sent two emails to ask about pricing and the process. I decided to go in-person to see the location in person. When I got there, the shop owner Dr. Jose Alberto Monier Siguenza was very kind and personable. He spoke great English as one of the other reviews had mentioned and he listened to what I needed accomplished. While many other optometrists in the San Diego area refused to replace the lenses on my Gentle Monster frames, Vision Optical was one of the locations that agreed to replace the lenses. I was assessed by Dr. Jose and had my PD measured. When deciding on what kinds of lenses I wanted, I expressed to Dr. Jose that I wanted poly-carbonate lenses along with anti-glare and anti-scratch coating. There I learned that poly-carbonate costed extra and also the coatings both costed extra. At this point, I realized that having these lenses done in TJ would've costed me more than what Walmart quoted me, but I decided to go through with it anyway because Dr. Jose promised that I would get my lenses cut and placed by the end of the day. I expressed I wanted the additional coatings but Dr. Jose insisted that I did not need them and recommended I didn't get any coatings done at all. Poly-carbonate single-prescription lenses with no additional coatings was quoted for 2600 Mexican Pesos which came out to $149 USD. Walmart quoted the the same product WITH anti-glare coating and a blue-light filter for only $120 and it came out to $130 taxes included. The glasses were done within around an hour which was awesome. I tried them on in-store and they were clean and clear and I didn't notice any issues at all with clarity. However, it did feel like the prescription was a tad strong on the peripherals of the lenses but he reassured me that it was normal and that I would get used to it since they were new lenses. When I left the shop, I quickly realized how big a deal not having any anti-glare coating was and how much it affected the usability of the glasses for someone living in Southern California where its sunny year round. I contacted Dr. Jose immediately after I got home and he was initially responsive to my concerns. He asked me to call back the next morning to see what the lab was able to do and they were able to put on anti-glare coating for $48 USD which was eventually lowered to $36 USD after I expressed my frustration. I then told him that all included the lenses would've costed me almost $190 USD which is significantly more expensive than what Walmart had quoted. After I expressed how I was frustrated that it would cost this much in total due to his suggestion, he then stopped responding to me. I had proceeded to text him every few days and I also called his phone number, which he had previously picked up before, and I got no responses over the next two weeks. I have since still not received any response from this shop and I had to ultimately go to Walmart and spent $130 for another set of prescription lenses which DID NOT have the issue of peripheral straining and also included anti-glare and blue-light coating without an extra cost.

They follow all Covid-19 protocols.Make you feel very safe. My appointment was at 11am I got there 20 min. early. I filled out the paperwork then I had to take of my contacts, I was only there to get glasses. waited 15 minutes then my eye exam was complete in 15 minutes. Payed and was told to come in 3 hours my would be ready by then. I paid 3/4 less than what I would have paid back home in LA. Overall experience was great.
