My experience started off pleasant from the salesman Bryce, he was very kind and patient the entire time. He offered a price match and $25 engraving which was awesome. I received a phone call stating the engraver didn't have the heart symbol I wanted so I was fine with changing the symbol. Several days later, my watch is ready to be picked up. I come and the new symbol was there but the engraver put a completely different symbol in between the engraved date. Unhappy with what we got, we asked the sales associate if there's anything they can do about it. At first, he tried to make us keep the watch and offer a discount. I did not want to keep the watch because it's a Christmas gift. Secondly, he was rude to my aunt that was with me and myself. I wish I got his name. He basically told us there's nothing he can do for us since everything he offered, we rejected. Btw, he offered free engraving ($25) and an additional 5% off which btw engraving should be a given since it wasn't my fault for the mistake and 5% doesn't cover my gas buddy and the decrease in value of the watch that would be done, if repaired. Anyways, the manager, Shawn, comes over since by that time I decided I didn't even want the watch entirely anymore because of the way we were being treated. He said he'll send my watch back to see if it's fixable. He offered me a full refund if it wasn't fixable. They call me again for the final pick up. I asked would I be getting an additional discount for having to drive back not once, but twice. They repetitively told me no and there was nothing they can do anymore. Very disappointed. Horrible service. That's not how to keep your customers happy especially if it wasn't my fault. So, I come back for the final pick up and Shawn doesn't acknowledge us at all, whether he remembers us - who knows. The correct engraving is there. They got me a new back piece. But we noticed along the border of the watch, not on the actual face, that there were now scratches on it. I didn't make a big deal about it because... it's 3 more days until Christmas. I just wanted to get my refund and get out of there. Also, Shawn and the rude salesman stated at first it would take 6 weeks to get a new back piece when they magically got a new piece a little over a week, which I am grateful for but that's false info they presented to me at first. Pretty sad my first time having something engraved didn't go so smooth.. I do not plan on coming back simply because of the customer service and the inconsistency. read more

As per the other reviews, Shawn and his employees here were less than helpful. While we were looking around they were eager to help, but upon the time of the actual purchase (an exchange) there were 7 employees waiting around, while one sales girl was helping us and said "she'd never done this before". The other employees all ignored her pleas for help, she disappeared in the back, and then 3 employees decided to help. The poor thing is likely still crying in the back, and Shawn mumbled something rude about her in front of us. Long story short: an hour and a half is not enough time for them to process your purchase, even if the store is empty. They have no clue how to run their register or pos system. I would not recommend this experience to anyone you care about. read more

I went in to DeVons and the Arden Fair Mall with my wife to inquire about having her wedding ring examined to ensure the diamond was secure. We were assisted by John Clark. Mr. Clark examined her ring and told us the diamond was secure. Mr. Clark offered to clean her to ring, her necklace, her earrings, my wedding band and my watch. Mr. Clark did this free of charge, without any pressure to buy anything. He was very professional, polite and had customer service as his top priority. We returned over an hour later and our jewelry was ready and it looked great. Based upon my experience today I will definitely shop at DeVons when I am ready to buy more jewelry. They are very nice there and are very helpful, friendly and not at all pushy. A very nice experience. read more

I just finished up reading the Devon's reviews.. People saying the were treated awful because they were in jeans and flip flops and they wanted extra discounts for having to drive out to the store twice after the store made it right for them... My review is different. My guy and I have purchased several items over the years from this location as well as the one that use to be in Sunrise mall. From watches, to necklaces for the granddaughters, to different rings. After 9 years of dating we have finally decided we are ready to get married. We decided very last minute, in sweatshirts, jeans, and converse tennis shoes we would go and take a look. The sales girl (I didn't get her name, but I will we go to pick up my ring) was extremely friendly, didn't push us one bit, gave us time to look and try on as many rings as I wanted. Then Shawn, the manager, showed us loose stones. He remember selling us watches years ago. We picked out a beautiful set. I feel like they went out of their way too make sure I got exactly what I wanted I am having it sized and can't wait to pick it up soon! We had a great experience with the sales team there and didn't have any problems spending 10 grand in tennis shoes and sweatshirts! read more

We went to so many jewelers when we were searching for our engagement ring. The associates at DeVons were so friendly and not pushy at all. They listened to our questions and requirements and helped us find the perfect ring. Their inventory was superior to any of the other jewelry stores that we went to. When my fiance went back to purchase the ring he said that they asked all the right questions and the process was completely painless. I am having the ring resized now and they made me feel very welcome when I walked in. I would recommend this store to anyone who is looking for fine jewelry. I received a promise ring. Great service for that purchase. When I took it back to upgrade, I got no service. I had to ask for help because their staff was standing around and looking for maybe someone older who would buy something expensive. Their store policy was to trade-in your ring for something double the price. But they don't even have my purchase in the computer. They said there is no record of my purchase when that is a way of getting rid of you because they don't want the small ring back. Luckily, I had saved the receipt from a couple of years ago. Your computer isn't ancient and I didn't purchase my ring 20 years ago. Not good service and would not recommend Devons. read more

If there is one jeweler you can trust, it is John at Devon jewelers. He is very nice, very personable and friendly. He is certainly somebody my wife has high regard for as a jeweler with a sound knowledge of his trade. My wife met him at goodwill in downtown Sacramento where he donates his time at times to help them price incoming jewelry. My wife herself has a great taste in jewelry and found John to be somebody with great knowledge. He has fixed many watches as well as my wedding band for us (for free). I am not referring him because he had fixed things for us for free. Beyond great service! My husband lost his triton ring and had to get another, we originally bought at samuels jewlers also in the mall but davons was almost $200 cheaper for the same exact ring! They let us know it'd be about a 2 week wait since specialty size - samuels was a 6 week wait. The ring wound up coming in a week and half later! Back in Feb of 2014 spent 2 G's on a wedding ring within weeks diamonds were falling out.We kept driving up here having them replaced.So today we are back again & we woyld like to get the ring exchanged for another one of equal value.Shawn has been helping us he has been very helpful as I'm writing this review he is getting a hold of his supervisor to see what the next step will be. Hopefully Devons stands behind their quality & name & they exchange this ring cause my wife & I are tired of this.I will let you know what they decided to do hopefully they do the right thing. So now they are telling us since it's past a year they can't do an exchange but on our 2nd time here to get it fixed my wife remembers asking them if we could do an exchange & they said they cant cause it's past 60 days. Now they are telling us a year.TOO MUCH BS with them. So now we are waiting on getting a call from the manufacturer to see if they want to do it. What a HEADACHE but trust me I'll go straight to the top of the chain of command to get this straighten out. read more

My experience at Devons in the Arden Fair Mall was one of the worse experiences and I will never shop there again. My boyfriend had purchased my engagement ring there, he told them that I have small hands (4 1/2) and they said it would be no problem to size, just have me make an appointment. When I went to get it sized they told me "we can't size it because the diamonds on the sides would start falling off because we have to bend the band so much to make it the size you want, but you can go to to Fred Meyers and they can probably size it but it will cost a lot more." At this point I'm extremely upset and ready to break down in tears, one of the other salesmen had the nerve to say " there's no reason to get upset about it" ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME!!!! This is suppose to be the ring I wear forever and your telling me not to get upset!?!? After many phone calls back and forth, they were able to size it ( they had my ring for over a week) and now the friggin thing isn't the same color! Apparently after they size it they do some laser thing to make it shiny and pretty again..yeah well they didn't! So now I have to go back AGAIN! I do not recommend this store to anyone!! Upon having problems with my previous engagement ring, my fiance and I came to this location to look for a wedding band and possible a new engagement ring. I was nervous, because I hate feeling like I am getting coerced in to something I do not want. Upon coming in, I had a bad experience with previous jewelers and this place redeemed it for me. I was first greeted and worked with a man named Tom and he showed me some really good rings. When I came back, John Clark was the man who helped me and I have nothing but good things to say about him! He really gave us our space to make our own decisions without pressuring us but gave us his honest opinion. He worked with out budget and we ended up paying exactly what we were looking at. He was professional and kind which proved for a great experience. I purchased the insurance which covers free cleanings, first re-sizing free, and 10 years of coverage for any incidents. I will tell all of my friends and family never go back to this place again!!! Because the service sucks! My family went there to buy a diamond necklace yesterday .The original price is $995 for the necklace .We asked for discount. The sales person John said $700 for us! We accepted it, but we didn't like the chain came with it. He gave us $25 credit for it, so basically, the pendant is $675. We bought another chain for $200. The total came out $876. Then we asked him what is the total with the tax. John was doing math with his calculator, he said the total was $1050! Then we said is there any more discount if we pay cash? He said $25 off for you, then we said how about just make it even $1000 ! He said deal ! We paid for it and left . However, when we got home, we thought about it and did the math again, the total $875+ tax 8.76% is only $951.56!!! I went back to talk to John, he said there was something wrong with the calculator! !!! The calculator did it wrong !!!! that's a good reason !!!!!!!! I wanted the $$ they over charged us, he said if you are not happy about the price , you can bring it back and returned it! But we really like the necklace, we didn't want to returned it ! I have never ever complained anything like this before, $50 it's not that important! What I was not happy about this place is they told us a price and sold it to us another price if you don't do the math by yourself ! !!!!! I don't know how long they have been doing this, and how often they have done this ! I really suggest people whoever goes in the place , take your own calculator with you and DO your math !!!!! DO NOT let them do it !!!! After talking to the manager for about an hour, I got $50 back !!!! But they still didn't think they did it wrong ! They said they gave me $50 back because they wanted me to be happy! !! I'll still go back or recommend my family and friends go back if they apologize at least once just once !!!! My wife went into the Arden Fair Mall location this passed Saturday to have her wedding band cleaned, and much to her dismay, one of the diamonds had fallen out. And unfortunately she hadn't noticed until late that night. She went back on Monday to inquire about getting the diamond replaced, which of course is covered under her warranty. But what really made me upset was the fact that not once did they apologize for the mishap. All that was said to her was that she didn't have to pay for it and it would take about a week. That's it. Given the fact that they are a reputable jeweler and a very distinguished profession, I am very shocked and surprised that no apology was made. It sickens me that such heartless customer service was given. I truly hope that someone in an impressionable position within this company recognizes and changes the problems at the store level. I was pretty nervous I have to say walking. Money is tight for us, but we have a wonderful ring we wanted to A. Reuse the diamonds in a new setting or B. See what else we could do to make it out own. As I said money is tight so we had in mind to just come in and find out what price rang we where looking out. So we could save up and pay for it out right. Its one thing to look around online and just try to guess what it will run vs. going in and asking. I felt pretty nervous. I am not big on jewelry but this was going to be my wedding ring. I wanted something simple but I still wanted that feeling, that "wow this is the ring". The ring as it was great, but I just didn't have the feeling about it. We walked in and were greedy by John! He was really nice and showed around. He showed me some bands. Getting the ring the way I wanted it was going to be a lot less then I had been thinking. But the idea of a new band and setting still just wasn't giving me that "this is it" feeling. I brought up how my heart and been kinda of set on black diamonds and I had a hard time letting go, yet I really wanted to reuse this ring. John came up with a great idea, about replacing some of the small side stones with black diamonds and adding the stones we would be taking out in a new location on the band. When he quoted us a price on this alteration I was almost shocked! With labor it was way under what I could of dreamed! We should have a call by wed with the details and a final price. I am so excited! It's going to be a long two week wait! I am getting to remake this ring to my own at a great price! Thank John! read more

Choose a different place, other places will treat you better.We recently got engaged and wanted to get the ring sized. We stopped by asking if they could size the ring for us. Initially the lady helping us was giving us prices and turn around times and then switched with SHAWN. Shawn then went to the "back to look for more pricing" that wasn't on his laminated sheet. He then came back with our ring in hand and proceeded to interrogate us about where the ring came from.. he asked us 5 times where it came from like it was stolen or fake. All while holding the ring in the air. We told him it was purchased from another dealer and he said he could not take our business because it was purchased from another dealer. OK fine.. but he is still holding our ring staring at us and wouldn't give it back. We had to wait for him to feel like it was time to give us our ring back after he decided he didn't want to do business with us. SHAWN is a d-bag and although he smiles, he is not on your side. read more

My fiance and I started looking for engagement rings. Since he had previously purchased a necklace and ring for me at Kay, naturally we started there. I pretty much knew what I wanted walking in. Although the rings were nice, it just didnt seem like they were as "blingy" as I hoped for for our budget of about $2k. I didnt need anything huge. We walked the mall and went to each jeweler. John at Devons greeted us warmly, and didnt make us feel like we weren't spending enough. He showed us several options, and I have to say, the "blingyness" was far superior to any of the other chain jewelers. We bought the engagement ring, and my wedding band. We ended up having a bit of a tough time getting the band sized as small as I needed which is the reason for the 4 stars. However, John remained helpful and empathetic to our situation. Since then, I have purchased my fiancé's band, and went back to buy the wedding necklace. John graciously held a necklace for us for several weeks although we ended up purchasing a different one that we can upgrade later.
