If I could give a o I would. This is by far the worst hospital (if that's what you want to call it)…read moreI have ever been to. I have gone to this hospital for a few different things with my family over the past few years and it seems they always have an excuse as to why they are lacking. I currently have my grandmother in there and I'm so scared they are going to kill her. Without getting into medical details let's just say they have no specialty doctors and refuse to do research or reach out to other doctors to consult with them before making life altering medical decisions. The doctors will argue with you when you call them out on their mistakes and the nurses will give you attitude when you tell them to do their job. They don't bring water to their patients without being told. The plumbing in the rooms needs attention. When you turn the sink on the shower leaks leaving the floor wet. My elderly grandmother has slipped twice so far and is scared she's going to fall. We have asked for them to help her but they don't seem to rush when she calls and has accidents. They don't clean her or give the proper care with wound care. The bathroom door is so rusty their is no way it's safe. They gave my grandma a broken walker to use and saw a screw fall out and let her continue to use it. She also stepped on the screw and yelled that it hurt and the nurses didn't seem to care. The first room she was in must have had a broken bed because she was slanted to one side. The rooms are so gross you feel like you are getting sicker being there. The cleaning people don't use cleaning products half the time and just wipe things down with one rag and then clean the mop in the sink in the room. After they clean. Housekeeping doesn't get all the dirty laundry out of the room unless told to do so. It seems you have to always stay on top of all the employees to make sure they are doing the job they are paid to do. They don't explain things to patients very well and they don't make sure the patient understands what they are signing or what care they are getting. My grandma signed a very important document and she couldn't even tell you what it was for. I have had to explain many times that they need to explain things better and they seem to brush me off. They are supposed to be treating her for one thing yet they seem to keep wanting to get more money out of her and get more unnecessary doctors to talk to her on a computer when they know she can't hear them or understand what they are saying in it. So she will be charged for services she couldn't use. They also didn't have one of her medications in stock so I had to bring hers from home. I wouldn't be surprised if they change her for that. The billing department is the worst. They always over charge you or send you bills on things you already paid for. If you need a refund don't expect it any time soon. I have asked to have her transferred out and they are refusing to transfer her. I have called the hospital I want her to go to and they have told me they will take her if the hospital she's at now will approve the transfer. When talking to the administrator he informed me that he couldn't do it and asked me to call myself to get all the information he needs to do it. Basically asking me to do his job. He was driving while on the phone with me rather than coming in to solve a problem. I had to throw a fit to get the chef doctor to do her job. I had to make a fuss to get them to change my grandmas room. The new room has plumbing issues as well and my grandma can't safely move around the bed without tripping. The ER is very dirty too. They also forget you half the time. My husband who has cancer had to sit in the room for over 4 hours with a bleeding thumb before getting a hack job of stitches and sent home with no antibiotics or pain medication. They also poked him 17 times a few years back to try to get fluids from his spine before transferring him to another hospital because they couldn't do it. He had to sit their for half a day in excruciating pain before transferring him. My son went in last year because he got grill grease and cleaning solution in his eye. They made him wait in the waiting room before being called back and once he was called back they didn't get his eye flushed for some time after. Once they flushed it they then had bad testing strips and flushed his eye again for no reason before the doctor tested his own eye to see the strips where bad. Overall from 2018-2023 this ER and hospital has been awful. I will never be back after I get my grandmother out of there.

Recently the hospital had the state department of health come in to inspect the surgical suite along with other departments for possible code violations, and unfortunately EOMC had to shut down their surgical department as of now... With surgical services cut out, the ability to have obstetrics is eliminated, and nearly every department in the hospital is damaged overall. The hospital is actively seeking funding through a minor city tax increase of less than 1% to make the necessary changes and add equipment the hospital desperately needs! I know the hospital is under great leadership currently, and I have high hopes that they turn everything around in the near future!

She explained she had been abused where she lived before and one of the nurses on duty was calming her by telling her she had been abused also, but while you never completely forget what happened to you, that the pain of it gets easier with time. She was really being sweet with her as she was just 9 years old at the time. My daughter had told me she had gone to this urgent care center because they were able to get you in and out of there pretty fast.

Being uninsured and having no primary care physician I would either have to sit for hours in the clinics or having a bad back when it would go out the emergency room was where I would go but since being told about River Valley Urgent Care no more emergency room for me. I have saved literally $1000.00's of dollars and a lot of time going here and the doctors and staff have always been wonderful to deal with. The only downfall is they are not open 24 hours a day but unless a matter of life or death I will be staying out of the emergency room and going here.
