The roots of the local Mercy medical system go back to medical care founded by local Catholic sister in the 1800's.

The staff were extremely nice and knowledgeable with all the questions we had for them. The clinic was very clean and it had plenty of room for seating. I was happy that the doctor listened to us unlike most doctors out there. She made us feel like we weren't another number and was very patient with all our questions.. Dr. Kiefer put a crown on my tooth while it was infected. The fit was so bad he had to cut into the tooth infront of the crown to make it fit. Dr. Vela had to pull the tooth. When I complained about my tooth I was treated with disrespect. Pam was rude and mean. Jerry white was so rude he cussed and yelled at me. Treated me like I was a criminal. All because I voiced my opinion about paying for a crown that should have never been inplanted. You trust Dr's to be honest and professional. Trust them to be concerned for your welfare not their own personal financial gain. But not all can be trusted. Dr. Vela is great. Be sure to steer clear of Dr. Kiefer. When there is no consequence for poor work ethic. There is no motivation to do good work.

I am a veteran suffering from psoriasis and decided to go to this clinic for possible biologic…read moretreatment. The biologic worked reasonably well but I stand the risk of latent TB infection. I got a yeast infection after the treatment which lasted for 1.5 months! I just went to the clinic and said no more biologics and they said they would not give me methotrexate 22.5mg per week due to the fact I had recently undergone cancer treatment for my prostate. They then referred me back to the VA for treatment. I was upset that they did not recognize I underwent radiation treatment as opposed to chemotherapy. They (as usual) treat patients as being stupid - I have had methotrexate treatment for 10 years with no side effects and was just interested in another way to treat my problem. If you have tons of money, maybe this clinic is OK. I would shun them if not. I have been published in the "who's who of American colleges and universities" so I am not stupid! I carefully research everything to do with my health. Bottom line - this clinic would rather I get a latent tuberculosis infection rather than a (possible) problem with my liver (I check my ALT and AST regularly to insure levels are OK). Shun this clinic at all costs as they are after the money and discount patient intelligence and past records.
