During the winter months, I oftentimes wait till I can travel on dry roads for a day or so to clean my truck, but lately it has been difficult to do. In the early morning hours of a Saturday, I left the highway and ventured back to the Blue Beacon to see if they could accommodate me. At 0100 in the morning, I was in luck! They opened the barn-style doors and guided me inside. After deciding which services I wanted, I was directed to the customer waiting area. They have a large window where I could see all the exciting things they do as they took my rig from road-grime dirty to showroom clean! The Rain-X finish to the tractor not only helps to keep the windows clean, but also the whole rig sheds dirt a little easier as I travel the big roads. A two-man operation, there is no automation at this location. It is 'hand-wash' all the way! Drips on my tanks from leaky fuel nozzles, remnants of errant animals as they crossed my path, grease slung up from my last lube job, mud and dirt from the various shippers - it all came off with scrub brushes and high powered hot water spray. My rig looked great again! A helpful hint: Treat door seals and door locks with silicone spray. This helps keep the door seals supple, and prevents them from sticking to the door frame when ice forms during cold weather. Otherwise, wash your rig when you can travel down the road a while and dry everything out, preventing the doors and lock mechanisms from freezing. They have one bay available for truck/RV wash. Sometimes the line outside can be long, so I only stop when I have time available to wait. Also, they have a winding, one-lane entrance, so once you are in, it can be a challenge to back out. Otherwise, the absolute best time to use this facility is during the nighttime hours or on the weekend. From Highway 401, exit at Mill Street Exit 230, go past the T/A truck stop to Althlone, turn right and enter their driveway on the right. From the T/A truck stop, exit out of the truck parking lot north to Athlone, go left to their driveway. After the wash, the exit driveway takes you back to the T/A truck stop parking lot.

Also had my air conditioning recharged here and they also did a great job at it too as I wasn't expecting my old little cars AC to ever work again. Was quite pleased they didn't get the inside of the car dirty while completing the job.
