I retained Chris Dexter for a breech of contract case, he was quite impressive as a salesman but his representation falls far short of impressive, in fact it fall far short from mediocre. Lots of mistakes in his paperwork and he failed to address imperritive issues in the suit. I don't think he really understands the law, the fact that he passed the bar is amazing. this firm was so unprofessional The only thing that they were quick to do was take you money . communicating with them was just impossible as you have to set up phone call appointments through a text service to scheduled a phone call and then they were always canceled or postponed on their end. If you hire these attorneys, be prepared to only see them five minutes prior to court dates. I could not in good faith recommend them for any kind of criminal case. If the client is incarcerated They , will not set up visitation to offer any type of council and will make up excuses for not doing so they only showed five minutes prior to the court hearing, You may also be waiting over five months to receive your discovery sheet after sending someone else's if you receive the proper one and not someone else's be prepared to attend your preliminary without the discovery and like I said, they are so unprofessional when it comes to communicating, and evidence on the case, that I had myself to retrieve from the police department also two other separate occasions, left me with concerns if they were even working my case. I had to ask several times if they are still representing my client, when asked simple questions on the case, they failed to answer at one point, just shrugged their shoulders and avoided the question seemed as if they haven't read the case at all. they did not set any motions even after requesting, and don't try to get any forms or documentation on what they are doing for the case. They have been on the case over a year and still couldn't provide missing evidence simple police reports. Asking how it pertains to your case, ? they set up one video visitation and did not provide anything that would help the defense when one did show up from the firm they stated I am not familiar with your case. I am just instructed to deliver you pictures. Also be firm on who you are hiring they tend to send their associates or secretary , someone within the firm . We were under the impression that we were hiring Chris Dexter, but he did not show for court. He sent a Brixton R. Hakes . Even after requesting for Chris, only Brixton appeared. Be prepared for unprofessional derogatory comments, "quoted " you sing like a Canary , and such an 80's ways of doing things , ...,, also if you pay them a flat rate fee, they will request that you fire them before you even reached the trial The only evidence they were able to collect was instructed whom to give it to I believe intentionally gave it to the wrong person. If you are going to take University Parkway to come to this law office be sure and leave plenty of time because Chris Dexter the managing partner waited seven minutes before leaving for my appointment and they try to have me meet with a bankruptcy attorney for my personal injury. Very arrogant receptionist also. I imagine they have all the work they need and so you might want to consider another Law firm before wasting your time here. Arrived at 11:07 for an 11:00 appointment? The funny thing is they had my phone number but didn't bother to call me to let me know that he was leaving. I recently was subpoenaed to court as a character witness and was able to observe Mitch Robinson defending a colleague of mine. I was in the courtroom as he questioned witnesses and cross-examined witnesses. His representation was substandard. This was evident in the line of questioning, the focus on irrelevant questions, the lack of questioning of key witnesses, and his hesitation in asking hard questions that get to the truth. However, Mr. Robinson made a good closing argument. The defendant obviously lost the case to circumstantial evidence, not any real evidence. There did not seem to be any oversight of Mr. Robinson's actions or activities that day. In other words, he was the only attorney there to represent my colleague. He definitely needs oversight and an experienced colleague to help him as he learns his profession. This is not a comment from an "unhappy camper" but an eyewitness's comment on the lack of representation from a public defender supported by my tax dollars. They take advantage of people who have a traumatic brain injury. The did not verify if the individual was competant to sign a legal document. When the Utah courts had ruled he was incapacitated and needed a legal guardian. His nuerologist also said he was a vulnerable adult under Utah law 76-5-111 and 62-3-301 they took advantage of a vulnerable adult. They had him sign a legal document and did nothing on his case or called their client to follow up on why he had not returned to the office. they even admitted that they could not sign a contract with someone who was ruled incapacitated by the courts but they did anyways and will not return Richard's money because they're a bunch of crooks. I would not recommend this Law firm to anybody because they will take advantage of you and they just care about money and nothing else. read more

Dont go to Dexter & Dexter for any reason. They took advantage of an individual suffering from a traumatic brain injury (TBI) all for $400. Having entered a legal contract with an individual given a Neurocognitive exam with review of more than 200 indicators, when measured and compared to healthy-age peers, he displayed series defects with aspects of executive functioning. The individual also showed during the exam limitations involving verbal memory retrieval and social-emotional cognition. But Dexter & Dexter will not return the money that legally he could not sign a legal binding contract with. In January of 2020 his doctor told his wife that until another Neurocognitive exam showed other wise he needed to still have a legal guardian watching his finance. But Dexter & Dexter took advantage of him and know wont return his money. read more

I retained Chris Dexter to handle the resolution of my fathers estate. I did so because his firm was ranked #1 on google. The first meeting was pleasant and he seemed highly skilled in family law. After the original consultation in which I paid him the experience went downhill. The demand letter he composed was ridiculous and when I approached him he said I could type my own and e would go off that. I spent several days composing it and he revised it and I was very pleased with it. As we proceeded, I began to worry because no reply was received as I submitted questions, he wasn't available when I called, and he wasn't responsive or informative. Over 90 days passed and I was patient assuming that he was acting in my best interest. In the end, it felt like he scooted me out expecting me to pay him $5,000 for a demand letter I had to help him compose. I have no confidence in his ability to go to trial and due to his lack of interest in responding and providing me with copies and information regarding my case, I'm sending a complaint to the Utah State Bar. If you retain this firm I would strongly suggest you don't retain Chris Dexter. read more
