My husband and I visited during the 100-mile yard sale that routes right through this town. Because of COVID, this restaurant was still understaffed--and super busy because of this four-day event. Nevertheless, our server was actually running up and down the stairs to accommodate everyone. Thank you! We shared a bacon cheeseburger pizza which was very good! These people care about customer service. We ordered from this place during "midnight madness" in our town. They got our order sightly off (but it was still delicious). The Restaurant: Dexter Pizza certainly has some old-time charm as you observe the dark woodwork abundantly found throughout the establishment, but most everything else is fairly standard. Expect diner quality chairs and tables, and if it's winter don't sit upstairs as a heat vent will quickly dry out your eyes and overheat you. There is a party room available, but it is poorly lit if you need great lighting. There is a small buffet area (more on that soon). The Food: Pizza is the name of the game, particularly thin crust. If you're looking for thick bready crusts to dip in marinara and an abundance of pizza sauce, well, look somewhere else. The pizza itself is good enough if you're in the mood for thin crust, and they can make about anything you'd like. They even make a chocolate chip cookie "pizza" that tends to please most people. The buffet is small, as mentioned before. They may have four pizzas out at a time (which can spell trouble if they're busy). However, they have a salad bar to accompany, and regularly have marinara, breadsticks, fried ravioli, mostaccioli, and mac-n-cheese. These all combined can make the buffet a worthwhile visit. The catch is that they don't always have the buffet set (even during main lunch or dinner hours). Basically, they set it up when someone asks for it. If, like me, you are looking for a quick fix and walk in expecting buffet food within minutes you may be sorely disappointed, as I have on more than one occasion. Pepsi products. Also, if you want salad dressing there is a wine and cheese dressing people seem to like (I don't care for it, but I'm dutifully reporting this to you). I think it's like a thousand island with cheese added somehow, but that's just me. Maybe that sounds good to you. The Price: the price is okay for buffet (around $8). Their pizzas are a bit more on the expensive side (particularly if you are used to thick crust...you'll feel like you are getting way less weight for your money, which is accurate). I must point out, though, that the pizza making process from a time and ingredient standpoint is not actually less than a thick crust. At least that's my two cents. Also, if you read this thank you, but if this review is two years old look at one more recent. A lot can change in a couple years and I know that the current ownership is making efforts to better serve us all. Even with an average review I still go and support that effort. read more

Service was non-existent. Brought our food and drinks, had to refill ourselves. Pizza was bland. We had simple pepperoni. Salad bar was pathetic. The place smelled old. Played radio instead Of real playlist with a Delila-type DJ. When checking out, waitress turned the iPad around for the tip while watching. Overpriced and a bad experience. Ordered a pizza and picked it up and well, the pizza has a thin layer of cheese and almost no sauce, the employees didn't seem eager or quick to take my money or get my pizza. I don't know what the buffets like but there take out was bad. read more
