It came with 2 sides, so we chose Potato Salad & Fried Okra - then added a Baked Potato for a few more $. With tea, our total was under $30 and we took a bit of meat home to our dog! The Ribs & Briscuit were excellent (super flavor even without the sauce), and my wife enjoyed the Turkey. Fried Okra was heavily breaded but dry and crispy! . Potato Salad was yellow (mustard - not mayo) just like we prefer! I piled beef inside and ate the entire Baked Potato - skin and all! Yumm! Nice place. Stopped for quick lunch at 3pm, we placed our order at the counter right away. We got a pork sandwich with fried corn on the cob and the half chicken special with fries. All the meat was really good. Chicken was smoked nice, breast was a little dry but the sauces at the table were good for that. There was a soft serve machine near the seating areas, I assume it was free and self-serve so we got a bowl of it before leaving. This was my first time to visit Dexter Bar-B-Q, but I thought I would try it out based on other Yelp reviews. I ordered the 3-Meat Combo Meal with ribs, brisket, and turkey. It had 3 or 4 ribs, 4 slices of brisket, and a single slice of turkey. The turkey slice was very dry, but the ribs and the brisket were moist and flavorful with a nice rub on them. I had fried okra and coleslaw as my sides, which were serviceable, but not especially memorable. The people who took my order were very friendly and accommodating and I will remember that and will come back again on a future visit to Sikeston. read more

Dexter's is a great place. It has the convenience of a fast food restaurant sort of set up that, but that's where the similarity ends. The barbecue ribs are fantastic! The salads are large and plentiful! I was particularly taken by the free refills of the refreshingly icy beverages. For folks who are on a diet, what's really great is that you could take any of their barbecue meets and have them apply those meats to the top of the bed of lettuce and other salad elements, permitting you to stay on your diet, or at least imperfectly convince yourself of the same. If you ask for your dressing on the side, you will be rewarded by getting a hunungoe us bowl of it, which is really generous, in addition to being thoughtful. Be careful though, because those dressings are very tasty and it's easy to take a healthy meal and convert it to one that's totally unhealthy with the greatest of ease. The ambience is middle-of-the-road. The tables are wooden as are the chairs. The chairs do not have cushions, it might be less comfortable for those people who have a bad back or other anatomical limitations. The tables are wiped clean and had little residue or other concerns. I would rank the salads quite high it I would write the meets as being high as well. I wouldn't give it five stars because the food isn't as good as a high end place but appropriate for price. read more

Be careful going through drive thru and getting a pulled pork salad. They used to be a lot of meat for the price. Now the price is almost $12 and I got a piece of meat wrapped up the size of a golf ball. When I contacted the company they simply said all the meat is weighted out and I must be mistaken. the meat was no where near the size and amount it used to be. It was mostly lettuce. There are plenty of places to get mostly lettuce and not pay close to $12. The response was very disappointing and no type of resolution other than I must be mistaken and they would look into it.
