If there is one thing I want people to know, it's that the staff, program aides, and case managers truly care. They make you feel safe and are very easy to talk to. One of the aides, Lasey, goes above and beyond. She doesn't leave until she knows you're okay and consistently checks on you. She has a calming presence and helps clients who are really struggling find peace and comfort. Can't say enough about Ms. Kara is the person who runs the show. She may sit at the front desk, but she will also become one of your biggest advocates. When she tells you she cares about you or says, "I got you," she truly means it. She wants you to succeed and move forward into a better life. I remember showing up one day, and she told me how pretty I looked and that she was proud of me. She was proud of me and then wrapped me in one of her giant Kara hugs. Even though I mentioned two people specifically, all of the staff are caring and supportive. They won't let you feel sorry for yourself, but they will help you recognize the direction you need to go and encourage you every step of the way. This place and its staff truly helped save me from my depression. Ms. Kara says this isn't your first home, but your second home, and that really reflects how they make you feel. They also offer TMS, and for me it has been a complete game changer. If you are considering getting help for yourself or a loved one, make the call and take that step. I reached out to this office on June 14th, explaining the urgency of my situation and asking to be scheduled as a new patient. The front desk told me the next available appointment was over a month away (August 19). I said I'd take it -- even though it was far out -- because I needed help. I also made it clear I'd be calling around elsewhere in case someone could see me sooner. They said they'd schedule me. They didn't. A week later, I followed up because I never got a confirmation. That's when I found out I was never put on the schedule, and the original appointment time was now taken. They pushed me back to August 20th at 8am. I agreed, took time off work, and arranged everything I needed to make it happen. Fast forward to 6 days before my appointment: I get a text saying I must confirm and submit paperwork 48 hours in advance or they'll cancel. Aggressive, but okay. I confirm immediately. Then, not even an hour later, I get a voicemail saying my appointment has been canceled because "we can't see you due to your medical history." What medical history? They never collected anything from me except that I'm bipolar -- which, by the way, is listed as a condition they treat on their website. I called to ask what happened, and the front desk gave me vague, dismissive answers. When I asked to speak to the office manager, I was laughed at and told she might call me back. When I professionally but directly expressed my frustration, I was told they "didn't like my tone." I never once yelled or cursed. This place is a perfect example of why people suffer in silence. I reached out for help during one of the most vulnerable times in my life, and I was met with incompetence, rudeness, and zero compassion. Pregnant women deserve better. People with mental health needs deserve better. Do better.
