It's always wise to consider that every item in here is not necessarily a good deal. Some things I saw were priced at full retail. One thing that really stands out here is the tremendous amount of cheaply made furniture. It's the most by far that I've ever seen in one. As I stated, this is a nice place to shop.

What a big disappointment at Big Lots today! The cat food shelves here are empty. I came here today…read moremainly to purchase one item. I'm out of a common brand of bagged cat food.It's Purina Cat Chow Gentle. It's the only dry cat food that she can tolerate. Tiger ( my cat ) wandered up to my house about five years ago. The vet said she was about two weeks old. Tiger was severely dehydrated; malnourished, and had three kinds of worms! Our vet did not know if she would survive! She promised me that she would do everything in her power to help this baby but it's going to depend on her will to live! She did recover and grow into beautiful cat! The problem is that all of her early distress caused her to have a sensitive stomach! She can only tolerate the Purina. The shelf space for cat food was so wiped out! I also wanted to buy some cat litter. The reasonably priced stuff was gone! All that was left was the super expensive stuff so I passed! Big Lots; pet owners depend on you to supply us with reasonable priced needs that we can afford! You bombard my phone almost daily with promised advertisements: I go to your store and you have nothing! I'm one disappointed customer!

I'm really struggling to write this because I really enjoyed doing business with this family owned…read morecompany. They are so nice and I loved the selection. I even loved the 4 rugs I purchased, but my intention was to buy rugs that were going to last without failing. Braided rugs were historically sturdy and rather indestructible with few exceptions. My experience was always wool rugs but for 3 of my rugs, I chose the Olefin because they were going to be in my kitchen and the option of washing them was appealing. I even purchased a large drum washer with no agitator just so I could safely wash this type of bulky items. My rugs were all great for about 8 months before I first noticed one of my rugs separating. My job kept me away from home a lot and I couldn't address it right away. Now that I'm home, I found 2 other areas separating on two of the rugs as well as one area fraying. I contacted Stroud over the weekend and got a kind response from them on Tuesday offering to send me a repair kit (pictured). I wasn't sure what to expect but I got a needle and thread. I'm a 60 year old man, just retired from the Army and my expertise is in aviation. I know nothing about sewing and have as much business repairing a rug as Stroud has building working on my jets. I hate to focus on negative reviews when I'm shopping. Generally, I dismiss the bottom 10% just on bitter customers that wanted something for nothing. I have to say that the discrepancies I'm experiencing are shared by several other customers. I hope that Stroud figures out the issues with this but in the mean time, I'll have to take my rugs in to a local company here in St. Louis that specializes in rug repair. They do real good work but they're expensive.

Look at all that junk!" - So yes, it's not a jewel from the outside. Once you enter, you will feel like a rat in a maze. Did I go left or right? Haven't I been in this room already? Breadcrumbs or chalk arrows may be needed to find your way back! The size of this place is enormous. It's chock full of sinks, bathtubs, cabinets, wood and hardware. You really have to see it for yourself. The majority of items were likely purchased from larger chain home improvement warehouses who were selling off items in bulk. Just make an offer - prices are negotiable and cash is king here! (Although they do take plastic). If you can believe it, the owner has two more locations!! No sink was found today, but a new warehouse style "do it yourself" salvage store is on the map!!!
