The employees don't seem to know what they are doing and management doesn't seem even in the slightest to care to help them out. While the store itself is rather clean, I think the problem lies with management and the lack of competency to hire people who know what they are doing and the lack of work ethic to show those people how to do the job and instead opting for sitting them down in front of a computer screen and having them watch "modules" that do a poor job at telling them how to do the job, (I know this because I used to work there for three months). I saw an employee try to show a customer who lacked the brain cells to pay for his stuff, how to work the card machine and the store manager Ben was yelling at her when she was just trying to do her job and it was holding up the line. Keep in mind the store manager didn't even take the time to help his people out even after passing by like four times while this is happening. I've also heard and experienced for myself that the management there doesn't care for people with mental disabilities who want to work there and even go as far as to try to set those mentally disabled people up to get fired by putting them in scenarios that trigger them. Sometimes they even straight up fire those disabled people for no reason and make up excuses so they don't have to give them special treatment, (I have autism and DID and they did this to me and even called me retarded straight to my face saying "We don't need retards causing trouble at our store." which I was extremely confused by and upset by at the same time). Don't shop here, the people here are either stuck up or lack the brain cells to help you or even a mixture of both. Good selection on the salad bar and olive bar. Their cafe has okay tasting food, you can't expect too much from food that has been sitting on the heater for hours all day. Big selection of beer & wine. Has all your essential grocery necessities. read more

Any time that I'm in town I have to stop in for a salad at the salad bar. And it never fails, that bad boy is always $10+. But it's totally worth it. It has a starbucks, a pharmacy and the regular grocery store sections. Very clean and the cashiers are nice. read more

I have got my medicine filled here for several years. I love the permanent Pharmacy staff and they know me by name and I know them as well. I love the fact that a pharmacy values their employees and they don't have "traveling Pharmacist" a lot of pharmacies do not have a permanent Pharmacist. They go above and beyond to make sure that I get the best value for my money and go out of the way to even save me money!I absolutely love this pharmacy. If they know you are sick and need the prescription filled asap, they make it happen. I have never seen a pharmacy beside privately owned pharmacies that truly care. Way to go Ingles Pharmacy! I recommend this pharmacy to anyone and everyone that I know or anyone that ask where is the best place to get a prescription filled. Thank you ALL!!! read more

I've heard rumors about the awesome beer selection at this Ingles. The rumors are true but mostly apply to the domestic big boys like Anheuser Busch. Most Ingles have a really diverse craft beer section. This store has a walk in beer cooler for bulk domestic purchases; they even have kegs (if you want something like Bud Lite). Same great selection of produce including obscure items like anise and celery root. Great deli and salad/olive bar. Fresh Guacamole made daily!!! Big bonus is the huge Starbucks kiosk when you first enter. Keep up the good work Ingles!! read more

Ingles grocery store is the largest in Kings Mountain thus affording it the ability to provide a wider variety of different products. They have a wonderful salad bar that is always well stocked and fresh. However the soups leavening to be desired and if you aren't extremely careful that light lunch option of the salad bar can wind up costing you an arm and a leg. Seriously you can easily spend more than ten dollars on the salad if you aren't extremely careful. Ingles always has a wide variety of fresh produce including the occasional uncommon fruit or veggie for the curious palate. However Ingles does present an unusual conundrum in that despite the customer service skills of the staff throughout the store they don't provide much on the way of service where it really counts---in the checkout area. Now really when I am paying higher prices at Ingles compared to the other stores in town I at least expect to have someone ring up my groceries and bag them. I don't care about carrying them to my car but really if I just paid $4.99 for a fresh pineapple I could have gotten at Food Lion for $2.50 could you a least check me out instead of making me do it myself or stand in a line that is really much longer than it should be with all the employees standing around at the front of the store. So to make a long story short (too late,I know) good variety and selection, helpful staff throughout the store, fresh produce and nice meats but high prices and being pressed into using self checkout lanes makes me opt for Food Lion nine times out of ten. read more

I only went in for my Starbucks fix, but they were busy so I browsed around the store for a bit.. really great selection of foods.. clean and well lit.. all I could smell was fried chicken and it smelled so good!! the bakery section was awesome. I could have eaten my way through it! Prices were great as well, parking lot is huge, and well lit.. awesome prepared foods section as well.. I could definitely see myself shopping here all the time if I lived in the area! and the Starbucks in the store was the best idea ever!! read more

This store opened around 4 years ago and provides a place for our employees to eat, which is great since we have 300 and no in-house cafeteria. good prices, friendly employees and a great salad bar, though they just raised the price on it to $6.99/lb (Whole Foods like price, but don't get me started on WF) Opened an in-store Starbucks this year, which I never thought would sell in this market.. but it works! read more

I visit Ingles at least once a week so I'm more than familiar with this store. There is a reason I frequent this store so much and it's because it really is a great local grocery store. The store is always very clean and aisles are clear. If there are any employees roaming the aisles they always greet you and offer assistance. They have a very large selection of food so it's rare to be looking for something and find out they do not offer it. Ingles gives out free popcorn for the kids and they also get a free cookie every visit, so if you have little ones like me who need to stay calm for the trip it helps tremendously. They have a large wine selection and the prices are affordable. This is the only grocery store I recommend to anyone in the KM area. read more

I went to Ingles store #147 in Kings Mountain, NC to purchase a couple of items and primarily to get cash back. The cashier was a friendly and charming young lady whose name I don't care to mention called for assistance when the I attempted to get $30.00 cash back which the system was having a problem honoring my request. So I opted for $40.00 which is programmed into the system and it honored that request. The cashier gave me two, $20.00 bills. I asked if she would exchange one of the $20.00 bills for at least a $10.00 bill and whatever she decided in the remaining bills. She said that she didn't have any $10.00 bills but she did have $5.00 bills. I said that was fine and I gave her a $20.00 and she proceeded to give me two $5.00 bills. I waited for the remainder and she could not understand why I was still there. I told her she owed me ten additional dollars and she asked why. I said because I gave you a $20.00 bill and you only gave me two $5.00 bills. She couldn't understand what I meant. I attempted to explain when I gave her a $20.00 bill she needed to give me twenty dollars in return. She said she was confused and called for assistance. I assumed it was a manager who came and took the register to count what was in the till. She retuned and gave me the additional ten dollars. The cashier said she had been on the job for only 4 months and was still trying to figure things out. She should have figured out how to count money in elementary school. It is sad to think of the state of some of our young people today. read more
