Honestly if you want yoga, this is the place. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was home. Really great team all around. Teachers, staff and students. Very supportive. Very welcoming. I feel its an environment where you can let down your guard and be yourself. There is zero judgment. Something that is quite rare these days. So super refreshing. There is a variety of classes. I personally am open and enjoy exploring and the dharma temple offers a wide range to explore. Lots of options. And something for everyone! I appreciate the discourse, breathing and mantra. I can see huge benefits in my life through the kundalini practice. And that's coming from practicing all sorts of different yoga methods for 14 years and teaching for 12 years. Kundalini is a fast track to getting you there. We are in a time of life now where we need to wake up, remember who we are and come together. To do the work and then serve. This is not just a yoga studio ( walls, ceilings, lights, floors)! The dharma temple has created a community committed to serving human kind and healing from inside to out, so that this spinning ball can keep rotating and we can continue to have a fighting chance everyday. I love this new indie yoga place on Main Street! Hands down the most aesthetically beautiful space to practice in Vancouver I've encountered yet. The space feels intimate and the teachers and other participants are connected and caring. Each teacher seems very open to helping you develop a home program. I started attending classes and events a few months after its opening last year try to make time to be here 1-2 times a week. I mostly take Kundalini here which is a more meditative practice, but other types are offered here, as well as a variety of talks, teachings, and creative New Age programming. I wish I had more time to hang out at this deep, youthful, joyous place. Lots of free podcasts and content on Instagram and the website to stay connected. Soon to be recognized as an important hub, no doubt. I would highly recommend for beginners looking for a more meditative, non-commercialized yoga space, and also equally recommend for seasoned yogis and yoginis. read more

Dharma Temple is a spiritual gathering place that explores all aspects of yoga. The community is accessible to all beings and is a nurturing space that encourages growth, truth, and knowledge. With out the Dharma Temple I don't know if I would have returned to yoga after my car accident. The teachers and community are encouraging of all ability levels. I was able to challenge myself physically and mentally, in a safe space that encouraged me to listen to and be honest with myself. The teachings of kundalini yoga, which include mantra, breath, song, discourse, physical poses, and meditation, have become the most important part of my healing practice. In a world of social media, fake news, and capitalist trends, we need more places that encourage us to connect to our true selves, that allows us to remember that we are one with the earth and all it's beings, and remind us that everything we need is not outside of ourselves. read more

If there were more stars to give, I would be giving them! I come from Calgary JUST to come here. The Dharma Temple has more soul than any other wellness/meditation/yoga studio I've ever been at. The entire place has been decorated to perfection. Every item for sale in the boutique has been hand selected with great thought. A beautiful community has been created there! Everyone who comes seems to leave more elevated, happy, and connected! Most importantly are all the teachers and owners. With out them none ot this would have the magic it does. Every teacher I have had here care so much about what they are doing and the people they are doing it for! The teaching is beyond that of anything else I have experienced. Any one living in Vancouver are SO lucky to have this studio and these people so readily availible to them! I feel safe and held when practicing in this space. I've had a pass here since they have opened and love the variety of classes offered. My favourite part of the classes is the spiritual discourse and lessons shared by the teachers. You can tell the teachers are truly dedicated to the path and they are practicing what they are teaching. Although I jump around studios a bit, every time I walk into The Dharma Temple I feel like I am coming home. Pro Tip: Tiaga Prem is my favourite. If you get a chance to go to his class. He might be the most genuine, kind hearted human/teacher I know. He always finds beautiful ways of using his own life experiences to communicate the teachings which make them very accessible to people of all experience levels. read more

This space and it's teachers are truly dedicated to the practice of YOGA. The teachings offered by Tiaga Prem have significantly supported my mental health and have deepened my understanding of the true purpose of the yoga practices (specifically Kundalini Yoga). It is often my experience in other environments that the teachings either seem too esoteric to grasp, or are not rooted enough personal experience to be relatable. Tiaga Prem keeps it real, which is truly a refreshing experience. There is no BS to navigate through...just real, honest, clear, compassionate teachings from a human who truly seems to have direct experience with the benefits of the practice. I've been practicing at the Dharma Temple since it opened and I can truly say that not only is it an amazing studio it's filled with an amazing community. The classes are meditative and expansive and the teachers and owners are truly committed to the students as well as the community. There's a huge focus on meditation and breath which I love and every time I leave there I feel as tho I've had an uplifting experience that I can take into my everyday life. They offer all different kinds of classes so there's something for everyone. I would recommend trying them all out to see what resonates with you. First time I went to Dharma Temple last January I had a mind opening experience. I've been going steadily ever since. This is truly a modern day temple in the city. Such an amazing community. Full of loving beings who are there to help those who enter the doors have an experience of true self. There are many different types of yoga to try, amazing workshops to take one deeper and a beautiful store front full of amazing local produced goods. I would highly recommend trying one of the weekend yoga classes either Dharma, yin or Kundalini yoga. Kundalini yoga is not your usual western yoga but well worth the experience. This is a vibrant, judgment-free studio of teachers who understand the true foundations of yoga and are passionate about passing on their learnings and guidance to students of all levels. One of the best things about Dharma is that it offers a sampling of different forms of yoga, particularly Kundalini which provides a more meditative approach than a movement-heavy Ashtanga (although the Dharma and Shakti classes are fantastic). Moreover, their meditation, sound healing, moon temples, solstice gatherings, and many other workshops and experiences take this beyond a place where you roll out a mat once a week and into a real sense of community and connectedness. Every time I get a chance to visit Vancouver I make it a point to go the Dharma Temple. The vibe they have created is so warm, powerful and yet welcoming. I'm from Edmonton and I go to Vancouver a few time a year, and every time I visit the Temple I'm always impressed at how they are always making the space more beautiful. Their teachers are an amazing collective well of profound wisdom, what draws me to them is the depth of their teachings and the commitment to making a space focused on spiritual development and community. I travel from Alberta to attend classes and training here as the Teachers are far beyond anything I've experience anywhere else. The community is loving and inviting. The space is elevating.
