The drivers do not come to your address that's on the package and further put in a note that the address is incorrect. Very unprofessional. They try and make a delivery and left a 'Sorry We missed you' tag on the ground by front door. There was no attempt by them to ring the doorbell or even knock loudly on the door. For my business, suppliers usually use UPS to ship my orders. UPS has let me down time and again so when one of my suppliers shipped my order via DHL and I had to make changes to the delivery time, I was doubtful, at best, that they would get it right. BUT, I have to say that the two recent shipments I have received via DHL have been delivered on time and with the changes I made. Plus, and this a biggie right now during this pandemic, I was able to quickly and easily speak to a live agent for both shipments. I highly recommend DHL. Very bad service. Tracking number revealed no information. But the store I purchased from was able to access it and sent it to me. It traveled from India, to Ohio USA, then to Hong Kong, back to Ohio, to British Columbia, Canada (were I live) then back to Ohio, back to British Columbia, was here for 10 days with 3 attempts to deliver WITHOUT A NOTICE OF DELIVERY any of these times. Delivery failed because I "didn't provide a buzz code". It was confirmed by the agent that I got in touch with that I had, indeed, provided a buzz code, but that the driver didn't have access to it. She then put in a request with the dispatcher to get in touch with the driver, but no one would be able to provide me with updates, so it might just arrive tomorrow, I guess? I ordered my item through Amazon, and they shipped it using DHL. DHL does not deliver to my address, so they decided to change my address then sit on my package and not do anything with it. If I hadn't contacted them to find out where it was I would never have received it. THE WORST SERVICE EVER! It has been so many problems with the DHL service that I can even list it here while I'm still waiting for my MEDICATION to be delivered by this company: 1- it started from the DHL in the contry from where the package left from. The Dhl representative did not fill out the forms as they were supposed to (it was explained later by another DLH representative.) 2- 09/11: as it was about some medication and the forms did not provided all information needed, the Customs Canada hold the package and required new forms with more details and add docs. 3- 10/11 morning: all docs were resent by myself to DLH as instructed by phone on 9th Nov. 4- 10/11 night: the same docs sent one day before were requested again by email, as if they havent even checked my previous email. 5- two more times I had to send the same docs because they kepted requesting me as it was the first time they were asking me for it. But it wasn't enough: at the night of 11/11, they asked me once AGAIN to send me one of the docs needed. 6- 12/11; I called to make sure they had finally knowledge reception of my docs. And incredibly the agent told me she could not find any of the docs I had sent. So, for the FOURTH TIME i sent everything and made her confirm that she was seen every single document I sent and that everything was ok. She confirmed and told me that in up to 48hs the custom would receive it. 7 - 16/11 and no update on their website: the customs were still holding mu package: ONE WEEK the package had arrived in Canada; one week I I couldnt take my daily medications. I called DHL and the answer I got was the same: "i cant see your documenta were sent to us yet." !!!! At this time I lost my patience and requested to talk to a manager. The agent "sudently" found my emails and came back to me saying: I confirm that your documents had not been submitted to Customs Canada before, but it was done now. And they thought I would be ok with this HORRIBLE situation? I requested still a call from the manager and the representative said they confirmed they would call me during the day. Well... of course no call was given to me. Such a great customer service! Not even a sorry for what happened in one week that DHL had FORGOTTEN to send everything to Customs Canada. 17/11: Customs Canada released the package (prrof that the delay was entirely DHL's irresponsability fault. 18/11: I requested "no signature required service" to avoid any possible further delay to get my meds. Then: attempted to delivery not completed because of signature is required. "Ok, maybe they couldnt update it in time". 19/11: more than 24hs later and the second attempt also not completed for the SAME REASON: signature required. At this moment, one more call was given to DHL and finally the retour from a manager (4 days and 3 requests apart from my first resquest to talk to someone in charge). They confirmed. Yet NO PACKAGE DELIVERED AND 10 DAYS THAT MY DAILY MEDICATIONS HAVE ARRIVED IN CANADA AND THAT I CAN TAKE IT. Now. I had a shipment from US to my Canada Post FlexDelivery PO box address at Toronto CA, and for some reason they tried to deliver it twice and it apparently gave the error of 'Exception' and now my order is being sent back. I sent an email about to change the address to my home address but I didn't get a response to it for over a week and now they are sending my shipment back to US. First of all they are paid to deliver your parcel at your residence, they didn't, instead they hired another company to deliver the parcel which was left at a store in the village, got a email stating that the parcel was delivered, and I was not aware that it had been delivered to the store in the village, had to get answers from DHL and figuring where it might have been delivered to, had to drive in town to collect the parcel, I want a payment of 20.00 for my trip into the village, it's not the money that I am doing it for, it's a matter of principle. This review is about the hidden fees and extortion in the name of "other processing fees". I ordered a custom hardware product from a US firm, and the shipping was supposed to be free. The vendor sent it through DHL, and then it reached Ottawa. I was contacted by DHL to make a payment of approx 43 CAD for "other processing fee" which was done by DHL "on my behalf". Upon enquiry, DHL failed to provide any details on why should I pay on top of Canadian customs in the name of "processing fee". Because I had a stressful job schedule, I couldn't follow up for 3 weeks and finally asked them to send it back to shipper. DHL kept following up with me for 2 more weeks, despite me categorically telling them I no longer want the product. DHL sent it back to shipper, and then had a collection agency contact me! I received the letter from collection agency after 10 days (amount was already past due): I didn't receive the product, it was sent back and vendor didn't issue me a refund and on top of it this was directed to a collection agency which pulled down my credit rating by approx 60 points! While I'm fighting with DHL through consumer forum and Equifax, I felt at least I should post my review of unfair and extortionate practices. Instead of dealing with US based shipper, DHL had the audacity to refer my name to collection agencies, whereas I was just an end customer. I never authorized DHL to do any paperwork on my behalf. They didn't ask me before doing the paperwork. In any standard business process the Business let's the customer know the exact services and cost of providing the services. It's pretty straightforward with Canada Post or FedEx. Not DHL - this is the second instance of this nature. In a different and unrelated episode these guys made me pay 45 CAD in the name of "processing fee" for a product that came from Ukraine (a lamp) that was worth less than their "processing fee". This has been a very upsetting episode for me, and nowadays I am straightaway refusing to deal with any merchant/ vendor who insists to send merchandise through "DHL only". read more

On Monday at 2.48pm your driver walked in behind a resident, right past our concierge without a package and put a "Sorry we missed you " note on my mailbox. I spoke to customer service who assured me note had been put on my file that the parcel would be handed to the concierge to day (22 August). On Tuesday 22 August your driver came into the building and handed a package ( not mine ) to the concierge and left. At exactly that time I received an email, stating " sorry we missed you " There was No sticker on my mailbox. WE have this on camera and it's disgusting service from DHL. Very unpleasant company to deal with. Ive spoke to 10+ agents in 5 days that are unable to give me a straight or similar answer as to what is going on with my 2 packages. Duty has been paid on the first and everyone of the agents say it's suppose to be here tomorrow. It's now been days in a row of the same exact response and I still have no package. On the second package, agents say i haven't paid the duty (when i have proof they took my money), and the others say it's on hold for a totally different reason, but assure me it's going to be delivered the next day. Its now been a week of that same response and i have neither of my 2 packages. NO ONE, not even management actually has the ability to give a straight answer or solve an issue properly at DHL / DHL Canada. Even just getting on the phone with a team leader or member of management was a hard task in itself. They refused to put me on, and i was even hung up on. After speaking with management I'm assured they are looking into the issue and i will receive an email or call back with a resolution and that DOES not happened. I have every single voice memo attached to my account if anyone wants to know how DHL's "valuable" customers are being treated, it's simply unacceptable in my opinion. This is why I'm choosing to share this experience in the hopes that this does not happen to anyone of you. This is your clear warning: STAY FAR AWAY FROM DHL. Agents will do or say anything to get you off of the phone. All they are they for is to take your tracking numbers and read to you what it says. After speaking to several agents who repeatedly said it was delivered to the right house, they finally agreed that was in fact not my mailbox or brick colour of my house. Sabrina read her transcript like clock work stating they will look into the mistake and get back to me in 24 hours. After two weeks, of daily calls the delivered package was deemed lost and there was nothing they can do about it. They took no responsibility or offered suggestions how to get my money back. This is the worst delivery experience in my entire life. A package arrived in Canada for me on Feb 21st. It took 3 days for anyone to get back to me from DHL and over 12 hours on hold just to get the paperwork to self-clear. I self-cleared my package on Friday Feb 25th and received an email from the cod team lead on Monday Feb 28 that my package was released. The next day they say I refused delivery which was bull as no vehicle had come into my driveway through the fresh snowfall from the weekend and I sent them a picture to prove it. Customs on the other country is saying that we have to pay about $800.00 canadian plus DHL storage fees as of right now the storage are about 200 canadian. Purchased an item from the EU. Only option given was DHL. Okay. I checked import information and DHL says imports may be subject to Taxes and Duties. However, now they're holding my parcel hostage because of unpaid Taxes, Duties, and some processing fee I hadn't heard of until I got the ransom letter. The processing fee is double the taxes and is a full 1/4 of the new total shipping fee. All just to submit some mundane paperwork. I've had bad experiences in the past, but this is the final straw. Ordered something from amazon, and chose express shipping to get it quicker. I did not choose DHL and cringed when I saw that they were the carrier. I have never had a positive experience with them. Regardless, I filled in the signature release and asked that it be left at the front door of my building. Was supposed to arrive between Oct 17-19. Delivery was attempted Oct 20, but the delivery driver called my unit and I was not available to answer, so it was not delivered. Fine. I get the text saying it couldn't be delivered, and clicked on the link that brought me to their website, where there was an option to pick up my package instead. I chose that option, and selected my local UPS store as a pickup location. Updated tracking info said it would be there Oct 23 (which rendered me paying amazon for express shipping useless, but ok.) Today (Oct 25) I receive a text finally from DHL that they have an incorrect address and the package can't be delivered. Um, what??? Your website offered me the option of the local UPS store; how can the address be incorrect (I have checked the address, and it is correct.) Also no delivery was attempted here today, as I've been home all day and there has been no phone call from the lobby. I'm at a loss as to how they have an incorrect address all of a sudden? "Express" my a$$! Possibly the worst freight company that I've dealt with. Agents are untrained amateurs and level of service really depends on WHO you get on the phone! To give you an idea, the parcel that I'm expecting from Asia has spent more time in "customs delay" here than it did en route to North America. When you look up your tracking online, it'll say "Clearance Event" for DAYS on end. They'll make you fill out redundant forms, but then it'll take 48-72 hours to process. Absolutely no sense of urgency. I'm not sure what I paid for. I'm never rude, but just try to explain the situation. Even still, I've been hung up on once, told that they "couldn't find my tracking #", and have also been transferred to the beginning of the cue. Some of the agents don't even speak English. Today, I get a text stating that I owe in excess $540+ which doesn't even make any mathematical sense! When I called to ask them how they arrived at this number, the agent couldn't even tell me. It's sad to say, but just outsource your call centre to another country with better customer service! read more

I gave you ALL the information you needed to retrieve my package MULTIPLE TIMES (the WRONG recipients name, phone number, address, DHL Tracking number, etc) and to resend it to me. And you ignored that. You didn't do your job. The INCORRECT recipient contacted me... had to google my name and track me down himself, because DHL wouldn't help him either! And he PAID $28 USD dollars to ship it to me directly and now I've had paid him back. So DHL has been paid TWICE. You didn't do your job. I have received my package finally WITHOUT your help. It had TWO DIFFERENT DHL tracking numbers on it. One side had HIS address and the other side had MINE. You don't care about your customers... I'm deeply disappointed. All you had to do was LISTEN to the information I gave you and follow up...and this could have been resolved properly weeks ago DHL STOLE my money.
