Dr. Olu performed my c section and she has absolutely amazing bedside manner and answered all of my questions so clearly and knowledgeably. She has a very kind demeanor and made what would have been a scary process into a positive experience. The office staff is a mixed bag. Some are very professional and helpful, some are not. I asked to see a copy of my bill before paying and someone from the billing department insisted on speaking to me over the phone so she could argue with me and be snippy and sarcastic because they had already mailed a bill and I guess she was upset that I asked to look at it before paying? Maybe the printer ink comes directly out of her check. I would come back here for care again but be prepared to advocate for yourself quite a bit throughout your pregnancy, delivery and postpartum.

As I struggle with the payment they won't give me a refund. Thats a lot of money I thought I could do it but I can't. The Stafford office strikes me as well-meaning but disorganized. After several "in-take"…read moreappointments during which I was offered GLP-1 injections and given a list of membership options, I arrived for my first official treatment and was advised that I wasn't eligible for GLP-1s. Instead, I was given a 600-calorie protein diet and told to follow it strictly. When I confided that I knew I would need appetite suppressants to maintain such a low-calorie diet, the taciturn NP balked and only grudgingly agreed to write a prescription for 7 days' worth. Despite my initial misgivings, I did lose a few pounds, and was starting to think that Medi-Weightloss might be alright after all. Then at my last appointment before the recent snow storm that all but closed down Stafford, I was told that should storm prove severe, they would cancel my appointment. That's why I was surprised by a message I got the following Friday that I "missed my appointment," that the office scheduled for me without my knowledge or consent, and even more surprised to learn that they charged me $50.00 for missing this appointment. When I went to my normally scheduled appointment this morning, I informed them of their mistake but was told that the bait-and-switch appointment and missed appointment fee was policy and they made me pay it. Considering the only service this practice provided me was a diet that I could have looked up online and weekly weigh-ins that I could easily do at home, I decided that today's visit would be my last. I don't recommend this practice or company given their ridiculous, under-handed policies.

This spring I reached out to the office to place an order and my calls went unreturned and my emails bounced back. I drove to the location to find that they had moved. I was almost out of medication so I called 1-888-577-1570 and left many messages with the general company answering service. I was told to sign up and order from their website. I tried that unsuccessfully and let them know. After not getting a response, I called CGS Pharmacy LLC at 1-888-773-2449 listed on my last prescription bottle. I thought maybe they would help if Persona wouldn't. Then I found out that Persona Doctors owns and operates CGS as their specialized prescription center in Gaithersburg Md. They once again took my messages saying they would be marked urgent..but no one called back. I understand that businesses close/change etc. I never expected them to operate the same forever. I did however, expect a simple note letting me know that my doctor's office was closing. This is basic decency and allows the patient notice to find a new source/provider. There was no concern about patients going abruptly off their prescriptions or the discomfort they might experience. My sense of urgency was met with indifference. This could have been so easily avoided and what a cruel way to treat loyal paying customers!

Aimee Avalos performed all my clinical needs prior to being seen by Dr. Cocoa. Persona is the only plan that I have been on that has actually worked. Even when I moved to NC, which doesn't have Persona, I continued on their maintenance program through the one in VA. Because of the amazing service I always receive from Aimee Avalos, when she became Clinic Manager at Tyson's Corners and she offered to continue to help me, I was so relieved! I can't say enough about her!

What's not great is the environment is similar to the DMV scene in the movie Zootopia. The supplements are behind a counter, not readily available to the public for purchase, so I had to sit and wait for the receptionist to finish with a patient before she could assist me with something I could have helped myself with. I'm clear on the receptionist assisting the patient, but even after she finished with the patient(s), I was still waiting. Once she was done she advised me she was ready. I approached the counter and she told me to walk through the door(?), I'm thinking what for. Is she gonna check my vitals? Umm, hello I'm not a patient of this practice, I would like to make my purchase and get outta here. I reminded her that I just needed to purchase a bottle of supplements. She said okay I need you to come through the door. I walked through the door and she asked me what did you want to purchase. I smiled as my patience has left the building; I stated what I came to purchase again to her. She walks away, brings back the bottle of magnesium supplements and then asks me for my personal information to submit into their database!! I state to her, I'm not a patient why do you need my personal information, is that a requirement? She says yes, if you're going to use a card to make a purchase, I need to enter your information into our database. I thanked her and left; without making a purchase. I whole 45 minutes of my time wasted. Sad enough to say it's folks like that, that make me appreciate the www and the luxury of ordering online. So...anyone looking to make a purchase of NOW products do not go to this Dr office. There were no signs posted mentioning in order to make a purchase we must submit your personal information/credit card information into our database. It is illegal to keep a consumers credit card information on file. I would have been okay if she'd asked to "see" my ID, of which I don't have to show, but I'd prefer to show my ID rather than allow someone that acts "shady" to have my personal information at their leisure. I don't think so!

At my first appointment I was asked to stand on a biometric scale which told the staff that I had 16% body fat. I thought it was wrong, but what do I know? Dr. Alemzadeh told me since my labs were normal there was nothing he could do for me and proceeded to hand me a pamphlet, tell me to try a low carb diet and return in 2 weeks. After the appointment I continued to think my BMI was wrong and called the clinic 2 days later to let them know my concerns. I returned to the clinic where I was reweighed my the staff and the accurate reading came back as 33% body fat. 17% off!!! The assistant spoke to Dr. Alemzadeh who told her to let me know there was no change, continue a low carb diet and he would see me in 2 weeks to discuss other options. This doctor is only concerned about "getting paid for his time" and not his patients' health. With a BMI of 33%, at minimum he should have discussed with me the significant health risks my weight would have on me. Instead he wanted me to return to the clinic so I could be charged for another appointment and to "discuss other options". I called the office today to express my dissatisfaction with my appointment with the head nurse , who assured me that the doctor would call me back. Dr Alemzadeh called me back and his response was that regardless of the BMI, his suggestion to go on a low carb diet was still the same. He charged me almost $170 with no intent to help me with my weight loss needs and still expected me to come back.
