I started my journey with Persona Doctors in August of 2015. When I went in for my first initial visit it was to answer some basic questions, get weighed, take my blood pressure, get a B12 shot, give blood, and for the metabolic testing. Only after getting the results of the bloodwork, usually within a week, is when you are asked to come back and go over the tests with an associate. That is when they tell you the best plan/prices that can be offered to you based on your weight loss goals. They need the tests first in order to best recommend you for a plan to start you on your journey. I was only welcomed warmly, every single time that I walked into Persona Doctors. I, as well, had an issue with signing up for a six month program with a 60 day written cancellation policy. I brought this up during our consult and they asked me if that would keep me from signing with them. I was honest and said yes. I knew I could commit to at least three months of the program but six months was a little bit long for me, and at the expense they were charging. Because of that, they crossed out six months on my contract and wrote in three months with their signature. So please don't think they are not willing to work with you! They are there for your journey, I didn't feel they were there to just take my money. Speaking of money, before I even signed up with their program I called my insurance company (while sitting in their office) and asked if they covered any of the steep bill I was about to be charged. Because Dr. Coca is a general practice doctor, specializing in weight loss, my insurance company covered some of the cost. If money is a contributing factor for you then please do your homework and ask prior to walking in. I will not lie, even if my insurance company did not pay one dime of the cost I had to pay out of pocket, my weight loss was worth every penny spent. I went into Persona Doctors with a drive to lose weight. I wanted success. My head was in the right place and I was ready to start this journey at 48 years of age. I was given a menu and medications based on my own personal test results. Their menu is repetitive but after about 10 weeks I started getting creative with the foods that were listed for me to eat at each meal. I followed their plan to a tee; without deviation, and I mean without deviation. No cheat meals or snacks, no cheat days, and no food rewards for losing a certain amount of weight. I was losing 9-12 pounds a month using their plan. The food is real food. Food you buy at a grocery store; it is not food you buy from them. There are no special powders that are sprinkled over your food, no special medications given that make you lose more weight than anticipated. In 10 1/2 months I lost 100 pounds strictly on Persona Doctors plan and my determination. In 13 months I was down 115 pounds. I started off at almost 264 pounds. My lowest weight was 148 pounds and today I manage to keep my weight around 155 pounds. This plan works! I was a customer/patient of Persona Doctors for years. I also referred others to this business. I had a good repoire with the office staff as well. This spring I reached out to the office to place an order and my calls went unreturned and my emails bounced back. I drove to the location to find that they had moved. I was almost out of medication so I called 1-888-577-1570 and left many messages with the general company answering service. I was told to sign up and order from their website. I tried that unsuccessfully and let them know. After not getting a response, I called CGS Pharmacy LLC at 1-888-773-2449 listed on my last prescription bottle. I thought maybe they would help if Persona wouldn't. Then I found out that Persona Doctors owns and operates CGS as their specialized prescription center in Gaithersburg Md. They once again took my messages saying they would be marked urgent..but no one called back. I understand that businesses close/change etc. I never expected them to operate the same forever. I did however, expect a simple note letting me know that my doctor's office was closing. This is basic decency and allows the patient notice to find a new source/provider. There was no concern about patients going abruptly off their prescriptions or the discomfort they might experience. My sense of urgency was met with indifference. Aimee Avalos performed all my clinical needs prior to being seen by Dr. Cocoa. Persona is the only plan that I have been on that has actually worked. MY WEIGHT LOSS DOCTOR IS THE ONLY PROGRAM I HAVE EVER USED THAT WORKED! This is no joke. Here is my experience. My review will be slightly long-winded, but please read it to the end. I want to start off by saying that I have tried many different appetite suppressants and they rarely work. I went online and researched a program to help me lose this weight. I started the program beginning of May 2018 with 185 pounds, how depressing; I'm 5'8.5" tall. We are now in June 23rd 2018 and I now weigh 170. This program is pretty good. They are true to what they do. I go to the one in Woodbridge and they are very organized, polite, welcoming and helpful. If I wasn't paying for the program, I would not leave ever. Customer service is AMAZING in Woodbridge and the office is BEAUTIFUL and CLEAN. They do have different plan options for whatever budget plan. Before you opt into going here, just know it is not what the website is saying, the website is very vague and misleading. I wasn't greeted when I walked in, but more importantly, if you sign up for the Complete Plan that cost $275 for the first two weeks, you have to get the same plan for $550 for the first month and then you can change, but once you change it will be a plan that will throw your whole weight loss off. It won't have the same things that the current plan has; They don't advertise any of that on the website. I have all the prices to their plans, they apparently will lock you into a contract just to lose weight. There are others out there that are way better. You should lose weight because with all the money you are spending, you won't be able to afford to eat. read more

I am a 70 year old female and have been going to the Woodbridge location for 4 month. I have lost almost 30 pounds (from 172 to 145) with a goal of reaching 135 in the next 9 weeks. I had made a sincere effort to lose on my own with no success. The combination of B-12 shots, appetite suppressants and other prescription medications along with a very low calorie intake has been what works for me. This is not an economy program but it is what is successful for me. I cannot comment on the long term success of the program at this time but I highly recommend it for those that can afford it. For me, part of the reason for the success is that I am paying for it. If I cheat, I might as well take a $50 bill and set it on fire! As an aside, I never felt any pressure to sign-up or any misleading inference of medical insurance coverage. I have been on this program for about two months. I have lost 18 lbs. I could not have done this on my own. If you are considering joining, you need to know that it is very expensive and you will have to sign up for the second most expensive plan for the first month. There is a six month minimum contract to sign. You will also be committing a lot of time. I go in twice a week for B12 shots and once every two weeks for a doctor visit and weigh-in. There will be at least five different pills to take at certain times of the day. The diet to follow is strict and repetitious. It is mainly protein with small amounts of vegetables with fruit and bread every now and then. So far, I have not had any cravings or cheated. Partially, I think, because of the pills and the amount I know this is costing. But I think I am learning how to control my diet, what and what not to eat in order to maintain my weight loss when I reach my goal weight. By following the diet and eating according to schedule, I have never been hungry. Would I recommend Persona Doctors?---only if you have tried and failed at other diet plans, have extra money to pay for it and are totally committed to losing and trying to maintain your weight loss. read more

The website is very misleading and they push you into signing a contract for 6 months before you can talk to the doctor. It is VERY expensive don't let them let you think your insurance will pay for it either. Two weeks went by and I hadn't seen the doctor yet with my initial test results. My insurance wouldn't pay and I was already locked into contract. I lost weight because of the meds. My work and lifestyle didn't allow me to follow their food program. Try getting their miracle drug B12 at the drug store first and try smaller portions of your food. The cost isn't justifiable. read more

OK, so let me tell you about Persona Doctors- Woodbridge! They are AMAZING and so nice! Everyone there is! I was unable to actually participate in the program due to work obligations, but I was very sad to no longer be a patient there. The clinic manager, Zeina, I can't say enough sweet things about her. When I emailed her to cancel my account, I had no problems and she even told me how much she was going to miss me and to stop in and say hi when I returned. Where else do you know that will say something like that and genuinely mean it?! NOWHERE! They care about their patients and they love what they do there. I came to Persona Doctors because I gained about 40 lbs had high blood pressure, was pre-diabetic and had no energy to work out. Well let me say that was the best decision I could have made I lost the weight I feel so much better and my health has changed for the better. I have no idea whether their plan will help you lose weight. All I know is that I had a bad experience with getting an appointment and then a worse experience after I showed up for my first appointment. I booked an appointment online (paid the $50 reservation fee), and received a confirmation email. The next day I received a flood of emails and phone calls to say that I could not have that appointment after all because it was during a time that they were closed. I checked the hours on the website (very limited hours by the way) and replied how could that be since according to the website they would be open. Oh they tell me - they are "open" but only for administrative work, not for patients. So I re-booked for the following weekend. Today I arrive for my appointment. After completing a bunch of paperwork and waiting (as expected), I am called back to a room where I promptly receive BP reading, weight and BMI reading, measurements, blood draw and a B12 shot. All without much discussion. I am told that I cannot have an EKG or Metabolic reading because they are short staffed. Then to my surprise she says I'm done and can go out and make my next appointment! I say wait, are you kidding me? What about the program? Aren't you trying to sell me something? After a brief interaction, the two workers decide that I should have had a consult first so she invites me back for a consult. She says here is this plan and here is this plan, which do you want? I could go on from here, but suffice it to say that I had to pull teeth to try and figure out what I am being sold and what each plan involves. Then when I agree to sign up for a 3 month plan and start the payment/checkout process, the contract is put in front of me and she says sign here if you understand. So, not having anything explained, I start to read... The contract says it is a month to month payment agreement with a 60 day cancellation. Not a 3 month contract after all. It also says I will not dispute the payment agreement. When I ask for clarification she says since the plan is called "Standard" that I will only be charged 3 months. Um... As I'm trying to decide what to do she says that I can't start the plan until my bloodwork comes back and the next available Saturday appointment is in JULY! That was it. I said forget it and left. So frustrating. I don't know if all Persona Doctors are so poorly managed but this experience really left a bad taste in my mouth. By the way I am a business owner (a franchise owner no less) so I can understand staffing challenges, but I would be horrified if this was how my business was handled. read more

I completely agree with Chris E.! I too, have a story. Three years ago I had an emergency hysterectomy, at the age of 46. This was a last resort of other procedures that didn't work and my symptoms were getting worse. My hormones were in overload soon after the surgery. I went back and forth with my GYN who only considered hormone replacement therapy (HRT) which I was always against, but I gave it a try and on came the weight. I had gained over 20 lbs and desperate to try anything. She suggested 2 other types of HRT. Got tired of feeling like a guinea pig! I noticed Persona Dr.'s commercial and decided to give it a try. Yes, it does cost money, but the end results are worth it! I lost over 18 lbs in 8 weeks. Didn't need to go to the gym - at all! I too spent a lot of money on things that didn't work or were temporary and weight gain, always won. I started My Weight Doctor 2months ago and I must say the program is uniquely designed and the fact that you get to talk with a certified MD is a plus. The program is tailor individually to provide you with a healthy way of losing weight. The only thing I'm not pleased with is the cost. This was not even 1 star for me but that was the worst option. I wanted a few pounds off for the summer. I have always lost weight easily and especially when I have gotten the vitamin B shots in the past. I saw all of the commercials and with the drugs and shots it was a sure bet for me! I signed up with Persona Dr's back in April. Today it is October 2016 and I have not lost 1lb even though I have been paying $550.00 a month. The last 3 months when I started feeling cheated they wouldn't let me out of my contract. The answer was to eat an 1100 calorie diet, then a 1000 calorie diet. If I could do that I wouldn't need Persona. I haven't gone back for 2 months and a down graded amount of $295.00 still debits from my account and I am not even getting any drugs/shots/etc.... The scale read 154 every single check in and it still reads 154 today. If I would've cancelled in the first 30 days the website said I could've gotten out of my contract, but because I wanted it would work and didn't cancel I paid the price. That doesn't seem fair. I gave this program a real chance. Hopefully my 9/25 payment was my last! After all of this money/pills/shots and time off from work to make my appointments, I still have not lost 1lb. I read the negative reviews posted regarding the staff, thankfully that was not my experience at all. Each and every person I encountered was courteous and very knowledgeable. When I called, I spoke to an actual person, and my appt wait time was always less than 10 min (my appt was usually around 7:30-8 am). I started this program Nov 2016 and in about 5 months I lost 45 pounds. I could have lost more, but I exceeded the daily recommended caloric intake. However, exercised 3-5 times a week to burn some of the extra calories. This program will only work if you are serious about losing the weight and follow the guidelines. I started with the most inclusive package because I wanted a before and after lab work up (to ensure the meds were not doing harm to my body-which they did not), and the strongest B-12 fat burner shots, which they taught me to administer at home so I did not have to go to the clinic every 3 days. I took the appetite suppressant, Lipo BC, chromium and other supplements as recommended according to my lab results. If you are ready for a lifestyle change, go all in. If you want a miracle program that does not require commitment and discipline, this may not be for you. I was totally pleased and excited because I lost weight each and every appt... even during the holidays, and other life-changing events that happened in my life...Thank you Persona Doctors and thank you for reading. read more
