Three years ago, my regular cleaners told me that they could no longer work with me (moving out of town). I interviewed a few companies, but Angie really impressed me because I could tell she was organized and committed to providing a top notch service. At the same time, however, I had a friend who cleaned homes and was in need of a job, so I alternated between her and Angie's crew. Angie always could help me out in a pinch and her cleaners are super fast but very thorough (the benefit of having a team of cleaners rather than one person of course). I used her services sporadically throughout the past three years and she always came through for me, even tried her best when she was completely booked. This is crucial when you are relying on income from a STR and need last minute reservations when they come through. When my friend gave her notice this past spring, I actually felt like it was going to be ok, because I had a company that had proven themselves to be dependable and loyal to their customers. However, our personal misfortune introduced us to Shannon Building Services on May 2, 2016. Prior to yesterday, I had never even heard of this company. However, to introduce them, I have to take a few steps backwards. Our son has been a patient of Dr. Robert Balkan at New Orleans Eye Specialists for a couple of years now, and we are blessed to have our cousin (Danna Dennis Chiusano) working there. We always observed at how clean the office was but never really gave much thought as to who was doing the job. Rewind back to yesterday night at 6:30 PM and my wife advised that her wedding ring was missing. Her band was still there but the diamond ring was missing. We tried to retrace her steps but she had been to 6 different locations throughout the day and the sun was going down quickly. I blasted out a huge Facebook post asking for prayers and called my cousin Danna to advise her that the ring may have been lost at her place of work (New Orleans Eye Specialists in Metairie). However, we knew our chances of recovering the ring were slim. However, we prayed to St. Anthony for its safe return. Our prayers were answered by Shannon Building Services. Owners Tim Shannon and son Tim Shannon Jr. are the owners and work side by side with their staff. They have been cleaning New Orleans Eye Specialists for nearly a dozen years and are highly recommended. They called the doctor's office and reported that they had found a platinum and diamond ring ring while cleaning the office. My cousin put them in touch with me and we described the ring to a tee and they agreed to meet us today and return the ring to us. Co-owner Tim Jr. introduced me to worker Albert Roser who told me that it was he who had found the ring and reported it to Tim Jr. I had a cash reward for the ring and Tim Jr. turned it over to Albert, as it was his he who found it and displayed the honesty and integrity to do the right thing. (I also have a reward for St. Anthony for answering our prayer). So to get back to the review, Shannon Building Services provides commercial cleaning services, new construction cleanup, they strip and seal floors, clean carpets, clean windows and do pressure washing. Like I said earlier in this review, I've always remarked on how clean the offices were at New Orleans Eye Specialists in Metairie. And it's clean because of Shannon Building Services. This is definitely a company that you can trust in your place of business as their honesty and integrity are above reproach. My wife's ring could have been easily concealed and pawned by an unscrupulous worker, but Shannon Building Services' employees are trustworthy, polite and very presentable. You could never go wrong by giving them a chance. There are still good people in this world, and Shannon Building Services employs at least 3 of them. Kudos Tim, Tim Jr. and Albert Roser.

Our office carpets are commercial grade and we use a Hoover Steam/Vac to clean spots and spills…read more We had a number of spots from spills and a new pet and the Hoover removed them all, however, several months later the spots began to reappear. I decided to have them professionally cleaned as I have done in the past. The company that I used for over 15 years was no longer in business as the owner had retired. One of my tenants used Miracle Clean so I decided to give them a try. Jason Archambault is the owner and he uses the hot water extraction method for cleaning carpets. Mr. Archambault was shown our carpets and all the spots. I informed him that we cleaned the spots with our Hoover but they reappeared several months later. He explained that this is the result of using store bought carpet cleaners like Resolve brand which contain an enormous amount of detergent. He said that it's the detergent that remains in the carpet that begins to attract dirt and over a period of time causes the spots to gradually reappear. He commented that Resolve is one of the worse products to use due to the high amount of detergent in the product. I informed him that we used Resolve. He said that Resolve is such a bad product that when he cleans and extracts an area where it has been used it immediately foams up when the hot water is injected into it and this fills his discharge hose with foam. He added that he uses the best equipment available and that he guarantees his works. I asked what he would do to remove the spots and he explained that he would first treat the spots with a cleaning solution and would then repeatedly inject hot water into the carpet until all the soap residue was removed and the rinse waster was clear. Several months after our carpets were cleaned I noticed that ALL of the spots began to reappear, just as they had done when we used the Hoover. I telephoned him and he came out to look at the carpet. He immediately began to recite a half dozen possible causes and I could tell that he was attempting to wiggle his way out of his guarantee. I pointed out to him that he didn't mention any of those other causes when he accepted the job and gave his guarantee and also added that when the previous company that we used cleaned similar spots, they never reappeared. I asked him point blank if he was going to honor his guarantee and re-clean the carpet. He said no. I then asked for a return of the money and he said no and left. This guy is a fraud and his so-called guarantee is worthless. He got the sale but lost this customer and any referrals.
