In high school, he had AP Calculus, AP History, AP Physics, and Honor English. He graduated in E.E. Master of Science in Magna Cum Laude. My child has continuing his education in PHD right after his MS degree. As a veteran Kumon parent, I give all these Honors/ Credits to Sunset Kumon. I know with growing up in Kumon, my child wont be the same child I have today. My Son had great learning period in Kumon. Director Joseph and staff of Sunset Kumon know my child's learning level in both English and Math. The smiles and encouraging words from Joseph and Staffs are surely heart warming when my son attended Kumon. Kumon also taught my child how to be a responsible child/ student; how to prepare himself to be ready to intergrade himself toward educational, sports and musical instrument of more. All take times to practice. Kumon gives my child confidence and comfortable zone in learning and on going in the additional acknowledgment in Education. I am highly recommend Kumon to others. IThere were no real improvements among his 3 practice test AJ Tutors administered. I asked the instructor about this and he said it was typical but let's see how the SAT goes and then we can assess if we want a 1:1 session (more $$ of course). We received the SAT scores and the total score has no improvement. After the 2nd practice test I inquired if we could get a list of question that were answered incorrectly so we could focus/revise studying and it didn't happen. The program is very expensive to not see any gains or meaningful improvement in overall test score from the practice tests. Instructors should know how to get students past a plateau.

At the end of first grade, my daughter could barely read, her decoding skills were nearly…read morenon-existent. She hated school, she would come home crying because she couldn't do what the other kids her class could. Her self esteem and her belief in herself was so low, it was painful to see. Ann MacDonald and Learn, Read, Grow changed all that. We chose Ann because we believed that one on one, focused style would work much better than the factory style tutoring of other competing tutoring such as Kumon or The Tutoring Center. Ann comes to our home with really creative and fun ways to help learn the tools to reading and comprehension. The carefully created trust and respect that Ann has developed with my daughter has in my opinion made all the difference. Ann genuinely cares for her students and it is evident in her plans and her openness to talking to you about any individualized support. She brought such unique and enjoyable methods to suit my daughters learning style it made my daughter really look forward to her tutoring nights.
