BE WARNED residential customers. We needed $3500 of electrical work done in the house. Be sure to…read moreSTICK to the scope of work planned... less work was done than planned and the electrician AGREED it will be a reduction in price. A recessed outlet was supposed to be installed from a new attic junction box. They powered it from a switch 3 feet away without the attic junction box and without accessing the attic. Furthermore, they installed a regular outlet and not a recessed outlet. Less work was performed and the electrician verbally agreed a price reduction should occur. An outlet in the kitchen, adjacent to the garage, was supposed to have been cleaned up with 2 additional junction boxes. No additional junction boxes were installed. Electrician added longer pig-tails to power the outlet and screwed the dry wall removed from the opposite side (garage side). Less work was performed and the electrician verbally agreed a price reduction should occur. Existing conduit on the east side of the house was to be replaced with larger conduit. Existing conduit was not replaced. Less work was performed and the electrician verbally agreed a price reduction should occur. Our electrician stated that he must input the work performed into their system, it would be compared to the original work scope, and lead to a price adjustment. Upon receiving the invoice for the original work scope at the original price, we emailed Look Electric and their response was simply that they expect full payment. I called and spoke to Bo Bowman - who sent the email. He mentioned that he spoke to his electrician and the electrician stated he had no conversation with me about any cost reductions. The electrician lied. I stated that I intend to pay $3000 since that is a reflection of the work performed and he stated his people worked 32.5 hours when he scoped 32 hours and claimed he lost money on the job. I then stated that he needs to send men back to my home to complete the work quoted if I need to pay the full amount. He then threatened to place a lien on our home for less than $500. Residential customers BE WARNED not to get ripped off by Bo Bowman and Look Electric. Our hot water heater sprung a leak...like a huge leak. After calling our home warranty company…read more(Select Home Warranty-they suck) and finding out they don't cover leaks (WTH), we called Parker and Sons, who we have a contract with. They came out checked it and said it would cost $3000!!!! And that was with my "discount". WTF!!! Knowing this was exorbitant, I quickly checked the good ol' internet. Tavares Plumbing advertises as "flat rate", so I called. He promptly called back and gave me a flat rate (50 gal heater $935, added warranty,10 year total, $250) $1135 for exactly what I needed. Honesty and not gouging, imagine that! He said he'd be over the next day and he was! And the price was exactly what he said. He let himself in my garage, did the job and left after cleaning up and making sure my garage door was locked. P.S. I was able to check on the progress via my security cameras. I was flabbergasted at the professionalism, honesty, promptness, etc. if I had to do it again...I'd save a lot of effort and call Tavares Plumbing. In short: 1. Tavares Plumbing is awesome 2. It got completely inappropriate as he was leaving he forgot a tool in my kitchen, I reminded him to take and he said "I was trying to leave it here as an excuse to come back" this was extremely unprofessional, NOT welcomed or acceptable! I then went about my day until I actually looked at the "new receptacle" IT is NOT new! When he replaced my receptacle all he did was go to his vehicle and retrieve a receptacle it was NOT in any packaging or a box because the only thing tossed out was my old receptacle. This discovery (a used part put in as new) was extremely alarming because I don't know how long it will last, etc. I forgot to mention: This guy also when asked how payment was accepted I asked do you accept Venmo, Check, card and I stopped because I was like who expects cash and he said I don't have the capability for those... Red flags! When I called a friend at finding an old part installed as new, My friend advised me to request an itemized invoice and 3 days later this man sent me not an Itemized invoice but an invoice with a total on the bottom of $300. My friend reached out to this guy for a quote in secret and this man quoted for 2 receptacle replacements $300 so why am I getting charged that price for one? and he still won't send me an itemized invoice.
