We were playing the last round in a 4-day Labor Day Weekend tournament set up by a group of guys that love to travel and play different courses. I am absolutely taken with the pro that worked that morning. She was so fun, and so understanding when we expressed our dismay at the restaurant being closed. It was closed all day. No chance for a sandwich or a snack after or during the round. This is why Magellan gets only 4 stars from me. Surely setting up a sandwich and drink station could have been possible. . .

Just know if you play here now the greens are terrible...So why a "3"? Cause from tee to green this course was an ass kicker and in overall decent shape...it's old, hilly and narrow...been around since at least the 50's...the golf pro was telling me that back in the day when gambling was legal and Hot Springs had several casinos the Belvedere was the top o' the heap... This course was like that once vibrant starlet that thru the years saw her beauty fade but was strong enough to watch it fade with grace and character....Excellent test of ball striking to be found on this course, just do like me and my boys did...once you put your ball on the dance floor it's a gimme 2 putt and move on....plus greens fees are only $25 which pretty much covers the cost of the cart cause they ain't trying to screw you over considering the condition of the greens

This was our first time ever to Hot Springs so I had no previous experience here nor anyone to rely on for course info on where to play. As the other post says, the greens are gone. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. I wanted to play here b/c of the hilly terrain as we don't have this kind of layout in the DFW area. Rough was way too deep, and there were 1 foot tall weeds on the tee boxes! What bunkers were not completely grown in w/ grass, then the sand is all washed out. It's a beautiful layout if it was just maintained. I spoke to the cart boy at the end of the round. He said it was just him, his dad & uncle doing 100% of the work and have been forced to terminate the entire grounds crew, hence why roughs are so deep and greens are lost due to no greens crew being able to mist the greens throughout the day. His grandmother is a partial owner and was a LPGA pro back-in-the-day. and partial owner. Apparently $$$ is the only thing stopping them, Apparently there is a pissing match between her and the other own and the family is trying to get the funds to buy enough shares to take control of the course. Some real potential here, sad to see the greens are so bad.

The staff really does a great job handling most of the activities and decorations, which makes it much less stressful for parents. Talking with a few other parents there, everyone agreed this is a go-to spot for birthday parties. There's plenty to do with go-karts, mini golf, laser tag, bumper boats, and a full arcade, so the kids stay busy the whole time. It does get busy, but it's well organized and keeps moving. Overall, a fun, easy option for birthdays or just a day out with the family.

Only wished we was wearing white clothing. 18 holes seemed to went by fast or we was just that good at mini golf. So you purchase a card for game play and the more you add to it the more you save. Like I said we opted for just the mini golf as we had other plans going on afterwards but for 1 game per person it was $9 then he added my game and it was $17 total for both of us which saved $1.00 the more you add the more you save. Really wished we would have allowed more time there for other games because they all looked like fun.
