Then she walked us through every step of the way to having it prepaid FedExed to their facility, then it was returned via FedEx, and it fits beautifully. In this case they sent me a gift card for $10,000 ! There's so many negative reviews about Diamond Internationals . We really need to get a class action lawsuit against this company . This outpost of this ubiquitous Caribbean jewelry store is exactly what you expect. It is designed to efficiently separate cruise ship passengers from their money quickly. The theory is they will not be back to ask questions or return anything. That said, you can find some incredible deals, particularly if you are staying several days for diving, as we were. Just point that out to the salesperson (that you'll be around several days), and the price will drop and the service go up. Walk away like a Middle Eastern bazaar if you have to, and you'll get the best deal. Mostly these folks offer really great prices, but often don't explain gem ratings, if it's lab-created or natural, or explain quality of watches unless you ask. When you ask, it has to be almost an obnoxious interrogation question to get a full answer. Much of their offerings are mid-range gemstone quality, and sometimes lab-created versus naturally mined. It's not Cartier but it's not Zales either. Like Goldilocks' bed choice, this price/value ratio is juuuuust right. After some bargaining, and theatrical "I'm walking away almost out the door" moments, they gave me a spectacular deal on a Tag Heuer watch (I'm kind of a watch freak) and a sapphire bracelet for my aunt. If you press them, they'll give you full documentation on the stones and the watch. The place is geared to fast cruise ship passenger decisions, so they need some reassurance you're not just killing time. In theory you can return it to any of their outlets if needed, but you'd have to go at least as far as the Bahamas to do that. Be sure of what you've got before you leave the store. read more

They also gave me a bottle of water even knowing I wouldn't make a purchase. They have some great deals and this location has some very friendly employees. Throughout the years we have purchased several items at various Diamonds Internationals throughout the Caribbean. We have always had professional and friendly service in most instances. We have not had to return or replace any items so no experience with that. On a recent trip to Cozumel my husband wanted to purchase the new Tag Heuer electronic watch. At the first stop they quoted a price but did not have the color band he wanted. When we went to the shop they stated had the correct band the price had increased quite a bit so we were a little put out and ended up not making the purchase. Several different stones, diamonds, gold, silver, you name it they have it. Variety of prices and items available. Always fun to take a peak at all the sparkly pretties when near one of their stores. read more

Avoid Diamond International, if you are wanting to buy jewelry use a trusted jewelry store that is close to home. Diamond International sold my mother what appeared to be a gold necklace.. After making the purchase they "took the necklace in the back to clean and package it." Needless to say the necklace my mother received was a little different.. A thin layer of gold over aluminum! Diamond International refused to respond to any of our emails concerning this bait and switch.. Beware, very dishonest people. Was negotiating with manager Danny for Tanzanite earrings in Mexican Pesos (4175) which was equivalent of $220.00 in USD. Sales clerk C. Valor very cleverly put her finger over the USD on the sales contract. So imagine my surprise when I returned from trip that my credit card was charged $4175 USD!!! We had purchased a beautiful blue & white diamond ring a few years at Diamonds International. One of the prongs broke & I lost a small white diamond. I brought to the Playa del Carmen location of Diamonds International, while I was vacationing. The sales associate was very kind & tried to be helpful, but it went down hill once the manager was brought into the picture. I was told to go Cozemel to get it fixed. He wasn't capable of completing that task. I could tell he was being dishonest by the way he was speaking & behaving. Even the sales associate seemed embarrassed. The sales associate asked if he could bring us water, the manager elbowed him & said no, the poor sales rep looked so confused. The manager said they were out. I had to laugh at how ridiculous he was being. I was so disgusted, I told the manager I would take my ring to Cozemel & that's where I would purchase my matching earrings & necklace. He lost a big sale for his store that day. It was Sunday & nobody was in his store. No cruise ships coming in either. I decided to go back to the states & get my ring fixed & buy my necklace & earrings there too. I'm concerned by the lack of integrity of Diamonds International & the people they employ. DI refuses to refund our money despite their "30 day guarantee" They want us to send it to NYC for their "experts" to evaluate it or give us store credit....
