I have visited this place 8-10 times as of date. It's very easy to find, spacious parking lot, visible signage and clean premises. I have attended for several celebrations. My most recent visit was this past Saturday for a Celebration of Life. Everything went amazingly perfect. I accidently showed up an hour in advance, and all was set up!! Literally! Simply beautiful!! I am glad that I attended this place for events prior to reading the reviews. The venue was lovely and parking and location was very convenient. I signed a contract for 4 hours which included the one hour set up and one hour breakdown. (1:00 pm to 5:00 pm) It was ideal, I spoke with Kia initially, very pleasant with great customer service. The caterer would arrive at 1:00 pm and the family and guest would arrive at 2:15 pm to 2:30pm and we would wrap up at 4:30 pm and be out by 5:00pm. I spoke with Demitira and she was delightful; she assured me that she we would have the tables and linen we needed. It was absolutely beautiful! What I was not told is the following. The person onsite, I believe her name was Pat approach my caterer and my DJ not me the point of contact and told them to shut everything down at 4:00 pm. I understand that the last hour was the cleanup. I don't understand why we could not listen to music for 30 minutes why we cleaned up. When I approached her, her response was, "Per the contract everyone must leave other than those that are part of the cleanup, and the music must be shut off." I made an announcement to 130 guests about the above-mentioned statement from the person onsite, that they must leave... Please understand that was a 130-guests last experience with Diamondz. We don't have to leave but you have to get out of here!!! 130 people will not return to your event space! read more

Went to a day party on Veteran's Day at Diamomdz Event Hall. I've heard of quite a few events held hear such as wedding reception and parties, but I have never visited the venue. The location is very spacious, clean and well-kept. The parking lot is very large and well-lit, so I felt safe walking to my car when the party ended at sunset. Good experience. read more

LI chose this venue to have my baby shower because it was appealing to the eye, what I thought was professional and also BLACK OWNED. The harassment that my closest family and friends had to endure was unacceptable. The liaison that was supposed to be there for help and support said multiple rude things to me and also my guests. Just to state a few of the rude and inappropriate things she said "It's 7 o clock and y'all not moving, y'all supposed to be out by 7!!!" I explained to her that my contract states that I have the venue until 8 and we will have all of our things out by that time. I also had to pull up my contract to actually show her that my contract said starting at 2pm- 6 hrs after. She also told my decorator that she should've started popping the balloons at 6:30. My baby shower was scheduled from 3-7. We had ample time to get the decorations down and out by 8pm but because we were so rushed and forced out we were done by 7:30pm to avoid any further conflict. The Liaison also told one of my guests that the trash needed to be taken out, which if I remember correctly, that was supposed to be done by youe staff. The last thing I'm going to share with you but definitely not the least is that she actually went as far as PUTTING HER HANDS ON SOMEONE AND PUSHING THEM because they were entering the wrong door after loading the cars with gifts. After she pushed them out, she slammed and locked the door. I would strongly suggest that you have a long talk with her. I'm sure that she was just having a bad day or she was probably extremely overwhelmed because she had two events going on at the same time. However, as a 8 month pregnant female, I was brought to tears because everyone was so distraught because of the harassment, referring to her as "the wicked witch of Diamondz" The venue was made aware of the issues and did nothing but act as if their staff were in the right. I've been to Diamondz several times --- never had any real issues. Always clean and event-coordinated. I actually celebrated my 33rd birthday party here and had a wonderful time. Renting this venue is pricier than it used to be. I'm sure the owners would work with you. The location is in a shopping center but parking is plentiful. Overall nice venue. read more

You would never know from the outside that this is a banquet hall, it is in a random shopping center. The parking is massive for the location. I have been here twice, for two very different reasons. The first time...well y'all remember those basement parties where the lights are out and it is a big 'ol sweat box. So much that when you go outside your glasses fog up? He he he...perhaps I'm telling my age, but I couldn't tell you one thing about the place from my first experience. Other than it was was HOT. Ha!!! The second time I ventured out was for a wedding. It is just enough space for an intimate event. This time, I can see! There is a small "bar" area, and just enough space for what I would think is an intimate event. I do know that there are two rooms; although, during the wedding only one was utilized. I can totally understand how you can get turned around in this place, as there are several doors, but it really isn't clear where they lead. Worst ever! Rented this venue for four hours.... After I signed the contract then I was told the first hour was for setup and the last hour was for cleanup! Who rents a venue and pays for setup and cleanup... with that said, my family only had the full use of the venue for two hours. Also, the catering service is sub-par. We ordered baked chicken, fried fish, potato salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, dinner rolls, chocolate cake, banana pudding, sweetened ice tea, and fruit-infused water. First of all the water was just regular tap water ( with no fruit), the chicken pieces were just wings and legs, the fish was salty, and the chocolate cake was as dry as the Sahara Desert! With a price point over $22/ per person my family expected all pieces of the chicken to be served (breast, wing, leg, and thigh). I was told by the owner of the catering service that they typically only serve wings (white meat) and legs (dark meat) because breasts are typically dry and cannot be sustained under their burners/warmers without drying them out. Additionally they indicated that breasts were not fully eaten by guests and are wasted. Why would a caterer care who eats what or what is wasted? It's not their money being spent! I believe the caterer is being cheap in this instance. To make insult to injury, I was told that they could reimburse me for the missing fruit in the water ( approximately $5 per the caterer) and possibly the cost of the cake. That's an insult to a family that spent approximately $3,000 to serve 50 family members. Beware... this establishment is shady and do not disclose their practices until after their customers sign their contracts. Note: Apologies does not replace the loss money, food. or time wasted. 5/3/14 Came to the event hall for a Delta Sigma Theta fundraiser day party and book drive. I have also been to this location in the past for a bike club party. The place has plenty of parking as it shares a parking lot with various other stores in the shopping center. The place is a little confusing with the number of entrance and exit doors and they are not clearly marked. Once you find the entrance double doors you walk in and there is space for welcome tables to get checked in and present your tickets. Then there are another set of double doors to get into the main hall area. When you walk in there is a dance floor in front of a slightly elevated platform used for a stage where the DJ was. On either side of the dance floor there are round tables and chairs all over for patrons to sit and eat. There is a hallways near the back area where the bathrooms are located. They also have a bar area in the back for use (customers must provide their own stock for the bar). The place is regular rental hall. It needs some upgrades but overall is ok to hold your event. read more

I was there only for a few to drop off cake and party supplies. Immediately upon arrival I went to the wrong door not know which of the 3 to go into. But instead of the employee helping me with my hands full he yelled through the door to go 2doors down. So once inside I immediately smelled an old building smell and the paint looked so old. The floors as well. I was so shocked because I don't see to many catering or rental halls around this area and was expecting something updated. The good thing I guess is that they had I think 2-3 rooms. Not sure if I would ever use them for one of my events untill some updates are made. read more

I recently had a birthday party here. I held it in the larger room. The temp rose to 80 degrees. It was hard for anyone to have a good time in tempatures that high. I looked for the help saveral times. He told me that he was next door but didn't realize I had gone next door looking for him. But in going next door, I see that it was completely cool in that room. When I finally found the help, he told me the air was as cool as it would get. also, the music next door was so loud it drowned out my program. read more

My daughter had her Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Diamondz Event Center. I was more than pleased with the staff. Courteous, friendly, helpful....and always pleasant. They allowed us to view the hall with our wedding coordinator several times, and always returned our calls in regards to information. They also allowed us rehearsal time and gave us a few extra minutes when we went over. As a business they were very up front with the Do's and Don'ts so we were not blindsided...and we were respectful of the timeframe allotted and the availability of the staff depending on the scheduled calendar. They keep a calendar which makes it helpful to plan and request an event. I would recommend this establishment to others....there prices were reasonable compared to most...and they promptly returned our security deposit within the stated time. read more
