There is a large parking lot in the back. You first walk in where there is a desk and a sitting area; and the room off to the side is where the massage takes place. The style and décor is a little eclectic to my taste and I don't think its a vibe everyone would love. Though, it is nice in its own way. Of note: she has foot wipes in the room for "flip-flop feet" and I couldn't believe my luck! My feet were so hot and sweaty and I was trying to figure out a way to wash them before the massage because I was so embarrassed. I had come from work and couldn't stop at home. These legit made my day haha! I asked for a deep tissue massage, as I am still currently healing from a shoulder injury. Admittedly, it was one of the most deep tissue massages I ever had, and pretty intense. Probably too intense for me, but I wasn't sure what to expect so I thought that's just how it was. However, I went for my physical therapy appointment after that and my therapist had never seen me so relaxed! In addition, it's been about a month and my physical therapist says my body has never reverted back to its previous state since that massage. In my case it was actually too much of a good thing because my muscles and joints weren't strong enough to be so relaxed, but I didn't know this at the time. Truthfully, I would have to come back for a less intense massage to be able to give a fair assessment because it was fairly painful and because I didn't know that I shouldn't have had that deep of a massage, had pain afterwards, but this wasn't her fault. She actually handled the situation super professionally. Theresa is truly a LOVELY person. You can tell she loves what she does, and took some time after the appointment to talk with me about my injury and some other strategies I could try at home. I really appreciated the extra time she spent with me. Overall, I will be sticking with my regular massage therapist but would keep Theresa in mind for the future.

My favorite thing are my Sage and my cleansing candles alongside my protection spray that she recommended that smells wonderful and alongside my spirit guides protecting me, I do feel like the spray helps.. I think Kelly is a unique person to begin with; her personality is kind and empathetic combined with her knowledge and passion for what she does makes your time with her very powerful. Kelly is able to take so much of your personal story and carve out a unique experience. She took me to a very relaxed state, something I could never get to on my own with meditation, talk therapy or self guided meditation. I honestly have never experienced anything like this before and never thought that me, of all people, would be able to feel such deep effects in her sessions. My mind is usually racing, with a long to-do list, or feelings of anxiety, my heart starts to beat too fast and sometimes its hard to take a deep breath. Kelly has been pivotal in helping me with all of this. Something medication, talk therapy and other resources only skim the surface (or provide relief for a short time). After meeting with Kelly a few times, I feel like I am more in control, I understand the way my body reacts and ultimately more 'balanced' than before. I look forward to meeting with Kelly again and hope that others give her a try, she truly is a wonderful person to have in your life.

I went immediately to my chiropractor down the street to see if he could fix it. I ended up getting an MRI on my back. I had herniated the disc and had a couple of bulged discs. I went to a back surgeon that wanted to operate on my back, with no guarantees that it would be fixed. I knew I didn't want surgery or cortisone shots. I've heard too many bad things about them. I told my chiropractor what was going on and he thought that maybe he could help me, but it would take a very long time. In the meantime, Marty Turner owner of the Sacred Tree Massage and Reiki in Newburyport, who I had briefly met through some mutual friends, heard what happened and reached out to me. I knew nothing about massage therapy but was willing to try. Between my chiropractor and Marty Turner, I was pretty much back to normal in 6 months. I own a horse farm, so I'm very active mucking stalls, carrying 5-gallon jugs of water and moving 40 lbs. of hay daily. In the fall I'm raking up about 30 yrds of leaves. I also love to hike and ride in the side x side ATVs. I'm now 65 and still doing all of these things and more. I do go regularly once a month for a 1/2 hr massage to loosen up the muscles. I tried in the beginning to stop going monthly, but found out quickly that I needed to go. If Marty was able to fix my back with the help of the chiropractor, then I suggest that people give him a chance. He is very kind, honest, professional and makes you feel at ease. He will listen intently as to what's going on and will do his best to resolve the issues. Keep in mind, things don't always get fixed with just one visit. It could take several for the muscles to relax and release.
