The selection is extensive, w/ breads and pastries and cereals and yogurts, both flavored and plain as well as packaged, although why anyone would eat packaged yogurt when real yogurts are available, I don't know. There are also cheeses, a large assortment of olives and meats and a variety of covered hot dishes. Alan had the scrambled eggs and said they were good. I've opted for the cold selections. Plates are cleared quickly when empty and coffee and tea are refilled. I liked the thicker yogurt and the fruit and cheese selection better at Seven Hills and the honey w/ its comb was thicker and more interesting, but this is a very nice breakfast buffet. I enjoy eating unusual things for breakfast and being able to pick and choose. This morning I discovered dried figs and apricots cut in half and what I thought were chick peas, but which turned out to be hazelnuts, also a nice breakfast treat. The selection is broad enough that breakfast won't get boring and I'm looking forward to our last breakfast here tomorrow morning.

I expected it to be very loud with the hard surfaces, but surprisingly it had a nice mellow vibe. They were also very accommodating of being gluten free. Started with two amuse buches: one was a ravioli with meat in a strong beef broth sauce. The pasta was very well prepared (although it was only one small ravioli). The other was gluten free bread, which was not grainy or dense but was chewy with a nice crust, that was good for sopping up the excellent muhammara (red pepper & walnut) sauce. Next was the bonito appetizer. Whoa, that had a very - emphasize that - fishy flavor. I think that's sticking with me. Glad it came with some citrus (orange?) to offset the strong fish flavor. The sweetbreads were delicious. They were fried and served with lightly pickled and salted, thinly sliced gherkin pickles, but these are not the kind the gherkin's you typically think of. The sweetbreads were a little greasy, and the gherkin's helped with that. The beef short ribs were also very rich, and tender and flavorful. Although it was a bit odd for them to be served over a piece of sourdough bread and be topped with a bunch of mint leaves. There were some ephemeral strands of zucchini that was the only other item/vegetable to come with the dish. There were four red wines available by the glass. Three were OK. Two people with two glasses of wine each came out to about $250.

The ambiance here is beautiful - hidden in a small alley on a road beside the Galata Tower, there are lights and music that fill up the narrow path here. Outside seating is super quaint, and the inside of the restaurant is nice too, decorated in a very traditional way. We started off with a shepherds salad because I was in desperate need of fibre after two days of straight protein and carbs . It was a simple Mediterranean style salad, with tomato, onions, cucumbers, and parsley. We then shared a chicken shish and, heavily influenced by the meal we had at Antiochia the day prior, a kebab durum. The durum was good - crispy and meaty - but I think we had the best at Antiochia. It lacked a bit of juice. The chicken shish was delicious though; it was tender, moist, and flavourful. The real star, however, was the kunefe. This dessert was by far the best of its kind we've had in Istanbul! It wasn't too sweet, the inside was creamy (and more mild than some other variations we tried), but it was the clotted cream on top and the pistachio crumble that elevated this to another level. The cream made the dish super buttery and fragrant, adding complexity. Would definitely come again just for the kunefe!
