If you don't, you won't be able to get to it and see your account, billing, balance etc. Here's my experience: I went to Anew Era for 5 years. My psychiatrist was knowledgeable, understanding, and helpful. I was manually paying my standard balance each month. And the office people were great. But this place changed in early 2025. Suddenly, my psychiatrist of 4 years was gone, I started getting auto-billed really high amounts I'd never seen before with no explanation, and I was matched with a new psychiatrist I did not choose for myself. I was done when my balance showed $100 right before an appointment--an amount I've seen countless times before. I didn't pay it ahead of time, so they cancelled my appointment, which is completely understandable. But a few days later, I went to pay that $100 balance, and it had jumped to $400. Mind you, I hadn't had an appointment in those few days, the office told me there would be no late fees applied, and my medication was not refilled. How does my typical $100 balance suddenly soar to $400. I have never been charged that much before, so I checked my payment history and it was wiped clean. Why could I not see my previous statements all of the sudden, when I was able to for the past 4 years? I was going to call the office about it, but remembered when I called and asked about odd amounts they auto-charged me for in the past, they were rude, defensive, and wouldn't explain those strange charges. Keep in mind that for four years, my insurance did not change and I made consistent manual payments without a single issue. So recap: out of nowhere, my psychiatrist was gone without a word. They start auto-charging my card without my consent and prior notification--and the amounts are astronomically higher than anything I've paid over the last few years. On another note, the office people who answer the phones are just so awful to deal with. They're always angry, dismissive, not helpful, and rude to the patients for no reason. (I can only assume they're fed up because their phones are ringing off the hook due to all of their company's mistakes, billing discrepancies, sketchy practices, and lack of communication with patients) But office people, do not take your frustrations out on the patients, look at the bigger picture: the company you work for is causing all of these issues that you then have to deal with over the phones. I can only hope most of them are getting new jobs at a reliable company or health group, because they are not having a good time at Anew Era. Don't go here :)

My schedule varies week to week and I've previously never had issue rescheduling appts as conflicts arise, even if I am rescheduling an appt for the following day. Apparently policy has changed since the last time I received treatment. You're now considered a late cancellation and can be fined if you are rescheduling an appt that takes place within the same week, even if you are notifying them with ample time (more than 24 hrs). I have never known a medical office that requires a minimum weeks notice for cancellations/rescheduling, especially one that requires daily appts from patients which are often scheduled all at once for a specific block of time. What's worse is the utter lack of compassion from upper management. Not only are they unwilling to empathize with the difficulties of scheduling around a busy life as a chronically ill person, they will punish their staff, AKA your personal care team, for doing their jobs and accomodating their patients. Absolutely disgusting for a mental health facility to have such little care and respect for struggling people with a goal to get better, all so they can keep a full schedule and make a bigger profit. I have received multiple messages threatening to cancel my appointment if I didn't get my labs turned in before my appointment. I imagine part of the problem is I get my labs done elsewhere so they aren't getting side money from them. I finally called them out and said please refrain from threatening me - I am paying for my providers time and perhaps I may want to talk to my provider first before doing those labs. Got another message an hour later defending such threatening behavior and gloating over their wait list to which I didn't respond and just uploaded my labs though I did consider just cancelling the appointment but figured they'd charge me for it anyway so decided to use them one last time. A couple hours later - appointment cancelled. CLEARLY we have forgotten about treating the patient and not the numbers. Clearly we don't care about talking with a patient about their concerns - you can fully expect it is my way or the highway from this clinic. Or maybe they feel too incompetent to have the numbers last minute and need 2 days to plug them into the algorithm first so they have the answers going into the appointment? I can't think of any other reason they would need the numbers 2 days in advance. Most legit clinics won't even order labs til after the appointment - how else do you know what to order?!?! What if there is a specific symptom you need a specific lab for? Perhaps all the labs aren't really needed? Too bad - you're a number at Modern Thyroid and not a person. You're paying for the full panel whether you need it or not.
