Today, I called her office to notify her of his death and to ask her about Texas policy regarding the release of his prescription history, as my family needs this information to decide on whether or not to move forward in exploring joining the class-action against Pfizer for their drug Chantix, which she prescribed to my brother. Not only was there no humanity in her tone or in the content of her dialog, but she didn't have the basic decency of professional etiquette and manners to extend even the most perfunctory: "I am sorry for your loss". Her response to my enquiry? - "I have been told that he passed away but I can't confirm or deny that." (What?) If you are wondering how I can be so sure of her exact words, it's because I recorded the conversation (this, by the way, is legal in NY, provided at least one party is aware of the recording). As an executor of my brother's estate, I've made it a policy to record every conversation I have pertaining to his affairs in order to safeguard myself against any potential legal issues. (I'm not a lawyer and have never done this before, so I decided that this is a good way to keep my records-and my memory-in order.) Then, while trying to make sure I understood the protocol of the release, she interrupted me to say: -"Even though...the person...may be dead...there is a $25 charge for the records, and since the request for the HIPPA compliant release of the records has to be mailed [to me] through certified mail, there is also a $5 charge for [my signature] prior to my releasing the records." -"Ah, okay, and these are your charges [or the state's]?" -"Yes, those are my charges." I then just said "Thank you so much for your help" and hung up. It is just so upsetting that people like this exist -- especially when people like this have been given the honor and responsibility of supporting and monitoring the psychological and neuropsychiatric well-being of clinically depressed individuals. This woman is a disgrace to medicine. Zero compassion, zero professionalism. Someone with so little insight into the psychodynamics of such sensitive and complex circumstances cannot be anything but a threat to the demographic that she alleges to help. Her energy literally borders on psychopathy. Please carefully think it through before deciding on making an appointment with her and review the other complaints about her on other websites. Note: I can and will defend everything I stated here if it is challenged as "defamation". I have the recording and all the evidence proving that everything that I stated as fact, is a fact. This review needs to stay up and remain public.
