Lovely apartment on the sixth floor with large balcony. Air conditioning was precise and…read moreresponsive. Bathroom clean, shower was good, although a tad more water pressure would have been good. No restaurant on site is a little inconvenient, but it is an apartment complex, not a hotel to be fair. They do a "breakfast to go" which is a continental breakfast in the mini bar, but at $12, probably cheaper to go elsewhere. Not very happy that when I pre-paid on wotif.com for 1 night they took $100 off my credit card and it took 7 business days to appear again. Why can't hotels just take the credit card number and THEN charge it if someone runs away with something? When there's no restaurant on-site, $100 deposit for one night is too excessive. Parking $10 per night 4 levels down from the hotel. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and a decent selection of FTA and Foxtel channels on the TV. Happy to stay here again, but please do something about the ridiculous deposit you take on check in for a pre-paid 1 night booking - very inconvenient. Other than that, no problems at all.

They had multiple games on, at least a dozen beers and a few ciders on tap at slightly below average prices. All the standard fare for a hotel, although food came out slowly that's understandable given the place was packed to the rafters. They have deals during the week on food and drinks, but it was still affordable for a weekend night out. After the Tahs won they passed out free chips, which I think were just leftover from the bistro but still a nice gesture. All the staff were really friendly and attentive - they appeared to offer table service for some of the larger group tables, were quick to pick up empties, and made pleasant conversation while filling orders at the bar. It looks like a great place to have group events, and there's a dance floor/dj upstairs if you want to hire it for a private party. One was on the night we were there and it didn't interfere too much with the downstairs shenanigans. Poker room to the back and a beer garden with pool table outside added to the mix of customers. Overall, there's something for everyone here.

The good news is that they have fixed the issues since last year. The furniture is now new, the beds are new (still twins though) and there is now wifi. All major improvements and this place needs another chance! I like it much better now. So give it a chance! The housekeepers are friendly and prompt at keeping your room clean.

The KING sized bed is really two twin sized mattresses sitting side by side. The FREE internet in the room is wired - NO WIFI and is painfully slow DSL. The only way to get WIFI in the room is to purchase and setup your own router. But most likely the slow connection isn't going to be useful to use Skype or FaceTime (which has been my main form of communication back to the states). There is no restaurant or food to purchase in the hotel, only a vending machine found in the lobby. The lobby is also where the only WIFI is in the building but it's encrypted. The front desk said they would give me the password but they acted like they'd be doing me a favor. I'm using the washing machine and dryer in the room right now. The front desk provided the detergent. The dryer has been running for over two hours and my load of socks and underwear still aren't dry. Our refrigerator is also not cooling. I placed a bunch of already cold beer into it and the next morning all the beer was warm. I've received reports from numerous other crew members staying here that they're dryers weren't working either. Some don't tumble, some don't heat, some the blower doesn't work and with others all of those features work but the vents are plugged. The only way to dry your clothes in this case is to take the vent pipe off the machine and let the hot air blow into the room. This morning I found a large cock roach on the counter top in the kitchen. This place is starting to gross me out. The shower has A LOT of mold around the window and along the tub edges and floor. This sort of mold can easily become airborne when showering and make you sick. I mentioned the mold to the front desk but they insisted that the room is cleaned regularly, so I guess I don't understand why it's so hard for housekeeping to pour a little bleach and water into a spray bottle and spray the mold in the shower area. The front desk agreed to move me into another room after promising that a repair technician would be by the next day to repair the dryer and the refrigerator. After returning to the room the next day the refrigerator was still warm, the dryer inoperative and the dead roach was still on the counter where he met his demise.
