It was a great local sporting store that offers full service for purchasing golfing items where they will fit for clubs and help with specialized gear. The store also offers sporting goods of all kinds, including Waters sports, baseball and softball, camping, tennis, running, basketball and football, etc. One of the things we like about Dick's Sporting Goods is the ability to use and purchase their baseball bat warranty which offers a trade in program subject to the terms of the warranty. My husband bought me a $180 pair of Asics from Dicks last night. I put them on and walked around ONLY in my house. After about 30 minutes, they began hurting my feet so I knew they would need to be returned. Today, I went to take them back and the cashier said they can't take back worn shoes. I'm going to post a pic of them because they were still in pristine condition with the tags. The feeling of being stuck with a $180 pair of brand new shoes you can't wear is a bad feeling. Wow this place sucks so if your tall or fat don't bother they only carry small sizes, but on the upside the employees are undertrained and not even able to take security sensors off items without damaging them so shop on Amazon or academy... you'll save money and have fewer holes in your better fitting items. read more

I was kinda excited when I heard Dicks was opening a store in Fort Smith a few years ago. Thought they might keep Academy honest. How wrong was I!!! The highest prices and the poorest customer service I've ever seen. Don't drive to dicks to shop because their website says an item is in stock. This was the worst "buying" experience I have ever had! I put the term "buying" in quotations, because despite the fact that I paid for my product multiple times, I NEVER received it. I made my original online purchase on March 5th. My scheduled delivery date was March 19th (which I thought was odd since according to the web site my item was "in stock and ready to ship", but whatever, I wasn't in a big rush). When my delivery date came and went with no delivery, I started calling Dicks daily. Each person I spoke to there was very pleasant. They were courteous, friendly, and sadly, completely helpless to do anything about my situation other than "send an email to the right people and see what they could find out". Each day when I called back I had to speak to a different person and explain my situation over, because their "system does not allow them to transfer to individual people", but each new person was eager listen and help me solve the issue, only to end up "sending this to the management team under the highest priority to figure out what was going on". On March 22nd I spoke to Brad who put me on hold (for a long time) and came back with the sad news that the shipper had lost my item (a kayak! How do you lose a kayak??), they would "look very hard", and someone from the shipper would call me that day. They didn't. On Wednesday March 23rd (18 days after I ordered my boat!) I called back and got Megan, who finally threw in the towel and agreed to re-order and re-send me a new kayak. They refunded my money, and recharged my credit card (for their system) and a new kayak was going to be delivered by April 6th... It wasn't. I started calling Dick's each day again, going through the SAME issues as before. I spoke with a different person on the 6th, the 9th, the 10th and the 11th none of whom could locate my boat or tell me if it had even been shipped. Then suddenly, on the afternoon of April 11th, I got a call from UPS saying they had my kayak and were on the way to deliver it! I was thrilled... until it showed up dented, scratched and gouged. I had to refuse delivery and send it back. I called and emailed Dick's Customer Service on the 11th and 12th and finally reached someone on the 13th. I told them if they could get it settled THAT DAY I would give this one more shot, but if not, I wanted a refund and would buy the boat elsewhere. They acknowledged that they could not get a straight answer by end of business that day and would cancel the order. Two days later I found the same boat elsewhere and purchased it. THEN Monday the 16th I get an email from Dicks telling me "your shipment is on the way!" and my credit card was RECHARGED. It took MORE phone calls to get that straightened out and my money refunded AGAIN. I wanted to buy from Dick's Sporting Goods to support their stance on Gun Safety, but it does me no good to "buy" something from Dick's if I never get it! I will never EVER buy from Dicks again, and I will tell everyone I know my story. Btw: the identical boat I found and purchased on Amazon was delivered EARLY with no hassle and no damage. read more

Not a helpful location. I called to see if they had waders in stock before I drove there and the kid on the phone told me they did not have any waders in stock. I highly doubt that because we are in the middle of duck season! I asked him to look up the product to see if there were stores close by that had the wader in stock and he refused. He said that information was available online and I should go to the website. Once I asked for his name he changed his tune. Then he tried to be helpful and said maybe he could order them for me and started to ramble on about how they "might" be able to order them, but sometimes could not.
