I was biking near by a couple weekends ago and got a flat. I went into the store for them to replace it. turns out their bike technician was not there but there was someone at the store who was able to help and get me geared up to make it the 4 miles home. the associate who helped I think his name was John? was super helpful and really appreciated what he did for me! it could have been a good day gone bad but he saved the day, thank you!! read more

I enter every sporting goods stores as a soccer player, runner, and sports fan, so my reviews will always be skewed towards those particular areas. With that said, this is probably the worst Dick's location that I've ever been to. The selection is very limited for soccer gear, which must be a testament to the lack of the local customer base seeking out soccer gear. It's mostly low-end youth gear, too, which makes it nearly useless to adults or even some teenage soccer players. The staff at this location has always been really nice, though, and it's the closest location to where we live, so I still end up going there quite a bit for running and clothing needs (of course, we usually leave empty-handed as they don't have what we're looking for). They do have quite an extensive fan gear section if you're looking to support the local Pittsburgh teams, but this store just doesn't have the overall inventory necessary to be considered a "good" Dick's location. read more

I jumped in the store quickly to get some workout shirts as I need a few extra and was from out of town. The location is convenient and it is easy to park. The store wasn't busy at all. Very nice staff. I found what I needed and was out in no time. I would be back. read more

I initially came in here to buy my son some new shoes, he has a wide foot and hadn't been measured since last school year. He's a kid who loves sports so he had a specific type of shoe in mind that he wanted. He found 2 shoes that he liked (both designed by various nba players as usual), anyway the associate that assisted us measured his foot wrong, which is ok, he seemed young and newer to this so I wasn't upset. I told him that my sons foot was wide so it was probably not the easiest to measure accurately anyway. No big deal; well then he brought the shoes out. Neither one fit right but when I asked him if he had any styles in wide or if he could possibly order another style that has always been a good fit for my son, he was very dismissive and pretty much told me that he couldn't help me. He seemed more interested in his conversation with his fellow associate than trying to make a sale and at one point his friend told him that we were trying to get his attention. If I didn't spot the Carrie underwood line of yoga pants and tops on clearance on my way out, I would have given 1 star but the trip was saved by my last minute find. On a side note I bet if that associate would have known that my mother happens to work for Dick's corporate, he would have worked a little harder to find those kyrie Irving shoes for my son. I did end up calling my mom to let her know about the experience but I made it sound more like a stock issue, which is believable because the past few times I've been at dicks I think their Nike stock has a bit to be desired. I hope this kid acquires some more polished customer service skills in the future and on a side note- I ended up getting suckered into purchasing Jordan's at footlocker house of hoops...which should be called house of people that can't afford to shop here more than once a year!! read more

I was unimpressed with this location...not to mention Dick's Sporting Goods in general. Needless to say, I wouldn't have been here if it was not for my husband's need for some new hunting gear. I decided to take a look around at the women's "sale racks"...however, I felt that the prices were still pretty high. Example: $45 for a Penguins hoodie is not a sale. In Dick's defense, I'm super cheap. I found a table full of running shoes (note: I don't run) and one pair in particular that were very cute but were still pricey. So I was pretty bummed because I would have bought them if they were, say, thirty bucks cheaper. Not to run, of course, but still nice for riding the elliptical, walking at the park, going to yoga class, or - hey - running....errands. Anyhow, I headed back to find the H in the fishing / hunting area. We looked around for about 5 minutes and the guy behind the counter never asked if we needed help. Also, there were a few employees running about, and none of them ever said hello or asked if we needed assistance. Not surprisingly, we left without purchasing anything. read more

I'm not too impressed with this particular Dick's Sporting Goods. It is in a great location in the Waterfront, but the selection seems a bit limited to me. They have what you need, but they don't have many options it seems. I went in there the other day and it looks like they also have a snowboarding section now, which they definitely did not have last season. They also have hunting, golfing and biking, in addition to the other regular deptartments. Your normal Dick's. Nothing spectacular, but it will do. read more

This sporting goods store is large and has many products from which to choose. I most recently bought sling/lawn chairs there. I spent more money than I wanted to, but the quality of the products is good, and I expect to use them for a long time. We were in the store for a while, but employees did not interact with us much, not even when we were checking out. read more

I have frequented this store for years. Steelers and pirates jerseys. Under armor and workout clothes. Prices can be a little high but quality is very good. Have also purchased running paraphernalia, weights etc. They also have a varied assortment of camping equipment, hunter's gear and camo. Convenient waterfront location. read more

I was at this dicks in the waterfront yesterday trying to buy my son new shoes for his birthday. I waited in the shoe area for someone to wait on me for twenty minutes and then Finally asked someone from a different department to help me find the shoe sales guy. They found him and he approached me like I was bothering him and was not helpful at all. He would not find missing shoes from the boxes if my sons size and was terrible at his job. read more

This is an older Dick's Sporting Goods location. Come here for the basics but don't expect to find the huge assortment that you would find at other DSGs throughout the city. I wandered around here for 15 minutes or so one evening and did not have anyone approach me, asking if I needed assistance. I also found a small child in the back of the store playing dangerously on one of the elliptical machines, which is something that both his parents and the store's staff should have addressed. Overall, I'll go here if I need sporting goods basics but would rather drive a little further to a nicer location. read more

I don't see to many options in Pittsburgh for sporting goods. Dick's seems to be the big chain for sporting paraphernalia in this neck of the woods. Their selection is poor especially in the snowboarding and biking section. Maybe it's good for small children who want their first snowboard? It is a very average store with average products. I would like to see some attempt to carry more high end products. I am not into fishing or hunting live prey so I am not sure about these departments? I guess if you want some Under Armor products then this is the place to go because I see aisles upon endless aisles of these types of products. read more

This is one of the older Dick's Sporting Goods location in Pittsburgh, and I've been here for numerous times. Staffs are helpful, atmosphere is relaxing, location is convenient. I always shop for running shoes, gym gears, and really liked the selection overall. The only downside, I think, is that the stocks are sometimes incomplete: either missing popular sizes, or some popular styles are out. Staffs nicely offered to help me order online and ship to me, but if the items are in stock, I can just grad-and-go, that would be much better. Maybe stock more popular items? I bought a Fitbit ChargeHR from this store. I had never had a problem with Dicks Sporting Good before. I wanted to make a claim on my Fitbit because it had stopped working. I called the store and was told they have some in stock. That coming down to the store would be easier than making a claim online. I went down about three hours later to get a new one and they said they have been soldout for days and there was nothing they could do. I was then told to call the warranty company I had purchased. I was then told by them that the store itself should of reimbursed me because it falls under the 30 day return policy. The workers there had absolutely no idea what they were doing. I will never return to this store ever again. I was told three different things by three different workers. It was a horrible experience. It took me an hour to get my money back when it should of took me ten. The workers were not that friendly. I do not recommend anyone going into that store unless they're looking for a horrible experience. read more
