And I'm more of a Sears scratch and dent when it comes to appliances and mattress sets, having bought my last mattress set at HH Gregg before it shuttered and that was over 16 years ago. To me the process is simple - you pick a firmness, lay on it and pick the one that's most comfy to you. Not difficult at all! Prior to that I'd bought used trundle beds with a mattress on yes, get this, the classifieds in the HSV Times newspaper. So it's been a while since I went shopping for mattress sets. The staff at Mom's memory care recommended we downsize Momma from a queen bed to a full bed as we moved her to her new, smaller apartment. Always rightly concerned for falls they wanted to give her as much walking room as she needed on her newly freshened up apt! Enter BE - where brother has faithfully purchased mattress sets for the past decade. The showroom was stocked with plenty of mattress sets at various price points with various features and sizes. The salesman (didn't get his name) was so knowledgeable and kind and really helped us downselect based on mom's sleeping patterns and her physical size. I tried out the various options using the paper coverings you see at Doctor's offices while sister and brother worked on pricing. We finally all agreed on one and they offer sheets and mattress. Pads and sheet and mattress protectors too. Sort of a one stop shop except no comforters or headboards. (We went next door to shop for those are Goodwill.) The extra helpful bearded salesman offered brother a substantial loyalty discount and off brother went to retrieve the bed set from their warehouse which I think is maybe on Pratt Avenue. We were on our way to move mom into her new apartment as time was awasting! Who knew bedding technology has advanced so much in 16 years with anti allergen this and that and cooling technologies and whatnot! The salesman walked us through the pros and cons of each and we were able to select the pads and protectors that would fit the bill for sweet momma and in her color palette (teal) and the micro sheets were really soft y'all! We met up at Grandview Gardens and during moving stuff realized (d'uh) momma already had a full sized bed and mattress set and didn't need a new one/downsized one after all! She had a full size bed with a queen headboard-becauase she is a queen! Long story long BE accepted the returned mattress set the same day without issue as far as I know and really impressed me with their knowledge and on hand stock and willingness to provide the best customer service possible. Even though I was hopeful to get Mom's cast off queen mattress (which clearly didn't happen) the shopping experience here was so pleasant I'll probably join my brother on being a regular BE shopper in the future and my back will thank me for it!

I chose 3 pieces all having different kinds of sales. I asked her to let me know how much each was not being sure of which discounts each piece had. She promptly just repeated the discounts to me. I took time off work to spend the week fishing with my son and preparing for tournament fishing on several TVA lakes. Our plan was to start on Lake Guntersville Saturday and Monday, then head to Smith Lake Tuesday, Wilson Lake Wednesday, and finish the week at Pickwick. Saturday morning started at 4:15 AM. The boat was loaded, the Ranger Z518 was ready, and we were headed to Guntersville. My son was helping load drinks into the cooler and grabbing the keys to unlock the storage compartments. In the excitement, he accidentally left the keys sitting on the back deck of the boat. We didn't realize it until we arrived at the ramp. Those keys were gone. With all the rod boxes, glove box, front graph, and ignition locked, our week of fishing was suddenly in jeopardy. We drove the route back home looking in the road, hoping to find them. Then we went back to Guntersville and searched again. Finding those keys over 27 miles of highway felt like looking for a needle in a haystack. My son felt terrible. As a dad, the hardest part wasn't losing the keys -- it was seeing him feel like he had ruined our fishing trip. We decided to stop by Bass Pro Shops Huntsville to see if they could help. The Parts Department immediately treated us like family. They listened to our story, helped us find a replacement ignition key, and even searched through extra keys they had to find ones that would work for our rod boxes and glove box. They were busy helping other customers, but they still took the time to help us. That kind of service saved our week. We left with a new set of keys, a big lesson learned, and most importantly -- more time together on the water. This is the kind of company we want to be associated with. Grass Line Baits is a small fishing company built around family, fishing, and helping anglers enjoy time on the water.
