As i exited my vehicle (10 yards from the bunkhouse) i saw cow track and thats it. The sun was setting and rather than show us to a blind for the night the guide had us hike to every blind he owned to turn on the feeders. After viewing about 6 stands we went back to the bunkhouse at around 9pm. From there we sat and listened to the guide talk about his professional baseball team he owned and the 180 inch whitetail that he consistently passes on. Nervous that I was going to get to the stand too late i inquired about the timing and was told that dont worry about going out until midnight. During the hunt the motion activated camera came on for about 3 seconds then went out. In the morning the guide asked if we would like to go kayaking. I had paid money to shoot a hog and I didn't want to waste time kayaking. So he left for the whole day while I did my best to scout while staying on the land the guide claimed to own. He had made multiple references to owning 9,000 acres in that general direction. After finding a source of water and 1 week old sign, I decided to hunt there. When the guide came back he had no knowledge of the water and decided that this was in fact a good place to hunt. I asked again about what time the hogs normally show up and he stated this time that midnight was way too late. He drove a truck out to the blind and had the two hunters help carry corn and a feeder to a new location about 300 yards away. Again, after disturbing the hunting area just prior to the hunt the guide asked me to lock up, he was heading back to the city. I sat in the stand for 5 hours while the neighbor shot multiple rifles consistently for the entire time i was there. I finally gave up and went back. This hunt is just like going with that friend of a friend who owns a bunch of land and doesn't know whats going on. Since I had signed up for a money back guarantee if no one shot a hog, I was extremely disappointed. Not only did they not refund me my money but they also acted shaded and dodged my calls. If you are interested in setting up your own feeders and doing most of the work, then this hunt is for you. I did happen to see 2 medium to small aoudad about 500 yards from camp.

This incident happened awhile ago but i still won't come back even after the owner or someone…read morehigher up got involved. i was recommended this place by a close family friend and when my friend and i came to shoot on a Tuesday we were welcomed with great customer service along with talking too one of the employee about his time in the army since i'm also military. Before entering the range the employee told us basic range safety rules and standards and then gave us the all clear. While on the range a range officer was behind us the whole time watching us and talking with us occasionally very nice guy btw. after shooting my shotgun and also renting some rifles to shoot we packed up and thanked both employees while leaving. Fast forward a week my dad wanted to go shoot my new shotgun so we go back and this time an extremely rude employee was helping us inside the building (I can't remember his name because this happened a while ago) i ignored it thinking nothing of it. once my dad and I get on the range i take two shots and this guy comes screaming at me saying i can't shoot my shotgun because of my ammo. i apologize to the employee saying "hey sorry i was here last week and no one told me anything up until now i'll buy the correct shells." he approached my dad and i extremely aggressive and rudely replies "oh yea i remember you and ur friend from last week ur lucky i didn't say anything. also our ammo here is pretty expensive so i don't know if you can afford it or not." after he made that comment i immediately packed up and left because i didn't feel comfortable with this guy just staring at me even after i apologized along with just approaching my dad and i extremely aggressive. Later that day i called them and asked to speak to someone in a leadership position and firstly apologized about the misunderstanding and how i wasn't told about the ammo rule the first time i showed up. whoever was talking too me was extremely understanding and apologized for that guys behavior he said i'm more then welcomed back but unfortunately after that incident i tell people to steer clear of this business. i understand it's a range so rules are important but having employees with loaded weapons act aggressive towards you is a huge no go for me even after stepping away from my shotgun and trying to apologize even after telling this employee the last time i was here i was told nothing about the ammo rule.

Im not an expert and I wouldn't even claim novice. I'm not a stranger to guns but I've never had to shoot one either (the BB gun I had as a kid is the exception). The service staff was great and informing me what gun to practice with. They really took their time explaining. I settled on a 45. The birthday girl was already inside getting a private lesson but she'd been the day before and bought a 22. Another sorority sister gave me a lot of tips so by the time the attendant came to walk me through, I was ready. I started with the 22 and that felt good. I did quite a few practice rounds with that one. I decided to try a small purple gun my sis brought with her. I had to! It was purple! The power from that gun was mightier than its size. I was blown away! So yeah, I went back to the 22 lol. I really enjoyed the day and was glad to celebrate with her but now I have a new interest. I priced the guns, I have no way of knowing whether I'm getting a good deal or not. I decided to have a talk with my cousin to see what he thinks and purchase later. If you've never been, just know the fees add up. You need ear protection & eye protection and they have it available for purchase. If you wear glasses, they count as eye protection. It's crazy loud, I used the ear plugs and the over the ear muffs. And of course there are fees to rent a gun (if you don't bring your own) and for use of the range.

Just buy ammo and go somewhere else to many rules and bad customer service never againread more

Minor work sometimes can be done while you wait and more elaborate stuff may take overnight. The other great thing is they have LAY-AWAY, I used it before, for a shotgun I wanted, but didn't really care to have it right away. It worked out great, I made a few payments here and there, then bam, I was at the shooting range. The prices are pretty good, but what makes them special, is that they offer guns that you won't find at Academy or most commercial gun stores, i.e. AK-47, AK- pistol, SKS style shotguns, etc... So, if you are looking for stuff that you can find at Academy, you'd save a few more dollars for those types of guns at Acadmey since they buy in bulk, but if you can't afford to buy the gun outright then go to Powder Horn and put it on lay away or start saving.
