Disclosing policy details, another experience that I wish I avoided. I used my cash app card as there was $ on that card, came to return an item that didn't work out only to be told I could only receive In Store credit. Even though I used a pin which is considered debit they said that was their policy and could only give me store credit. I've used my Cash App cards at several retailers and have never heard or had this issue before. Manager Vanessa assumed I was being "buddies" with someone in the store and it made me not want to buy expensive clothing from there anymore. As a former employer with a nice company I wouldn't recommend this place whatsoever, it is so unorganized and fitting rooms are disgusting. Managers and team members gather around in the front and just talk when it's mid day with customers walking around and they wouldn't even say hey goodafternoon or nothing just chatting and laughing. If I had the option to put zero stars I would have. I walked into that store and got absolutely no help. Was trying to buy 1500 dollars worth of bikes and was told I had to wait 30min for someone to come back from lunch. Then once bikes were picked out I was told again I had to wait another 30 min. Waited the whole time and once we got to the register 300 of the 1500 dollars was in gift cards. Each of my 3 kids had one. I activated the gift cards right in front of the associates and when I tried to use them manager Vanessa accused me of using fraudulent gift cards. Idk if she was profiling me because I am an African American man, but this is not at all what I expected coming to dick's sporting goods. Will never return to this store. Came in looking for something to help with shin splints. Was helped my Michael - who suggested a compression wrap and in-soles. He was very knowledgeable and was able to relate to various sports related ailments. He then sent me to the shoe department to meet with Daniel. Daniel was just as knowledgeable and made quick suggestions for products. He also offered multiple times to measure my feet to determine which insole is best. I declined and took his word on the recommendation. It was refreshing to experience good service in retail.. it's a real battle with online vendors/channels. Will definitely return. Would have given five stars but at the tail end, I was looking forward to giving positive feedback to the cashier. Mike and Daniel said the cashier would ask for it; however, she didn't seem entirely thrilled-- she just asked for the name of who helped me. I gave the names and she wrote it on my receipt. She was Not rude; likely just tired and ready to close out (it was late) I wanted to write this review because the two employees deserve recognition for their efforts. Very helpful and friendly. This Dick's is the saving grace of South Park Mall, but also the reason it's about to turn into a strip mall, now that Ulta picked up a location next door. When they first opened, I was impressed with the selection; they carried an extravagant amount of North Face around winter time and some cute, preppy golf clothes for ladies. I'm not big on workout clothes but they also had a nice collection for runners. Recently, the selection has decreased quite a bit. I wondered how long this particular location could support such high-priced brands, and it is just now starting to prove my point as the collections remain stocked regardless of being brought down to low sale prices. Hang in there Dick's! Even though I'm rooting for the store, I do have a huge problem here. Customer service is horrible. At first I thought it was just because most of the employees seemed very young, but after my last couple visits I'm convinced it's because most of them are just plain rude. Every time we try to find an employee for help, they disappear or turn the other way. Last time we stopped in for jackets we ended up going somewhere else because the cashier had an attitude and seemed like he didn't want to be at work. Even given all that, I know I'll go back out of boredom on a Sunday, so to be fair with my rating system, it's 3 stars overall. I'm a bicycle enthusiast, mechanic and collector. If you're looking for knowledgeable staff... keep moving. If you want a small part, drive on by. They didn't even have tubes to fit the most common size of tire on bikes in their inventory. That would be 26x2.00. Shameful to call it a bike shop. Also more than 1/3 of the bikes I saw on the shelves were misassembled in one way or another. Someone should tell these guys that bicycles are a vehicle that can easily reach speeds well over 20 mph on the slightest decline or with a tailwind and that bike needs to be safe. Deceptive pricing... they had signs on a rack saying that items were $9.98 and when we went to purchase the item they said it was only certain ones while the sign said the price range was from $15-$20 which ours were. They would not give us the price adjustment. read more

First, i am not a national chain guy. I buy local when i can. I went to Dicks to exchange sizes for xmas present workout pants for my spouse being the nice guy i am. They were purchased at Dicks and we dont have one near us. I did not have a gift recpt nor a regular recpt but figured the swap out would be no big deal. I got the vibe they thought i stole the pants. The manager got a new pair in the correct size but had to enter my TX DL # before the exchange was complete. I asked why you need my ID and was told since i didnt have the gift recpt they needed my DL # to put into the registry. OK. 1st time to Dick's SG and my LAST. read more
