They're VW Audi specialists, but they still don't seem that upmarket. Of course, from a garage you need them to be good at fixing cars, not customer service, but the whole place still seems a bit dirty and 'matey'. Still, they did the tyres in a couple of hours (longer than they said they would, but it was still pretty quick) and the price was apparently quite reasonable, especially for central Oxford. You can see them working on the cars, which is always reassuring and strangely hypnotic to watch. The entrance isn't at all obvious, but just drive into the warehouse-style building, park up and someone will come and help.

Within half an hour of arriving at the garage the problem was accurately diagnosed and as the spare part was unavailable, a temporary replacement part was fashioned from spares - what mastery! I am happy to say that the car now runs beautifully. The mechanics were very friendly and we discussed the car throughout the job; I felt extremely satisfied with the level of service, so much so that I have booked it in for another unrelated electrical fault on Monday. When I made the booking, the owner assured me they would carry out proper due diligence and identify the root cause of the issue. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of that expectation. After a few hours, I was told the "diagnostic" had been done using a diagnostic machine only, with no meaningful additional investigation. There was no visual inspection, no deeper fault-finding, and no attempt to properly validate the issue. They simply repeated the same fault code information I was already aware of. Based on this very superficial check, they quickly recommended a major and expensive repair -- without demonstrating any thorough analysis to justify it. When I asked reasonable questions to understand their process and reasoning, I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude rather than a professional explanation. What's most disappointing is not just the lack of diagnosis, but the lack of honesty and professionalism. If the garage does not have the expertise, time, or willingness to properly diagnose a vehicle, it would be far more professional to say so upfront rather than provide a costly recommendation based on a basic scan. I trusted them to treat both the job and me as a customer with professionalism and respect. Instead, I received neither. I would not return to this garage and would not trust their diagnostic conclusions.

Reasonably priced for quality work. If they need the car for a x amount of time, you can use one of their loan cars (nothing to get excited about though, its a just a few bangers that will get you from A to B, but still, not many mechnics will offer that service. Highly reccomend. They also have the Practical Van Hire franchise, with a good selection of SWB and LWB vans and reasonable prices. Have used this service twice now with absolutely no problems.

They very kindly send a reminder letter when MOT or servicing are due, which is much appreciated, and provide a loan car if/when required. It is really refreshing to find an honest and highly skilled team at reasonable prices and I highly recommend. Dave is a great communicator and kept me informed on progress obtaining the parts. Not only is it great value for money, they are very honest and reliable as well as very nice people - and they really don't want you to spend more money than absolutely necessary. We have pitched up quite a few times with minor problems, eg not being able to change a blown headlight bulb, and they have sorted it straight away. Very loyal to their repeat customers. Dentons really believes in customer service and sorting out your car with honesty. Go there and you won't be disappointed.
