[BREAKfast] Last morning in Berlin we tried this place & can't wait to be back and try more. The place was already busy when we arrived on a Monday morning We catched the last place outside. Inside was enough space left. The service was incredible nice. Our order - drinks and food arrived in the right time and asking for extras like the hot sauce on side was not a problem at all. My coffee treat, the Caribbean Dream was literally a dream, be aware it is sweet and tastes a bit like marzipan. You can pay also by card what doesn't happen often in Berlin. Food was expensive and flavorless. Ordered the eggs which had so many things on top but they just tasted like unseasoned eggs. Ordered the pancakes which A. Were not pancakes (more like scones) B. we ordered 2 but got 4 (and certainly got charged for it too) . C. Were flavorless just like the eggs. D. They charged 2€ for the smallest bit of maple syrup (like 1 ounce). E. "Pancakes" were dry. I seriously do not understand why there was so many people eating there. Don't recommend it at all. But if you guys are in the neighborhood and want to eat somewhere good, go to the place across the street! It's called La petite or something like that and the food there is so delicious and cheaper as well. It's always empty which is weird because the food is cheap and fresh. This is one of the only spots in the area that I found offering a vegan breakfast option, so it's where a friend from out of town and I ended up meeting. The menu is full of delicious- and fresh-looking food, and true to its name, you can get Stullen of all variety. I wasn't in the mood for a sandwich that early in the morning, so I got the porridge, which was tasty and which my toddler son loved. The place is decorated nicely and the people working were all friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is the prices were pretty high for Berlin. I got porridge (which wasn't entirely filling or much of a generous portion) and a black coffee and it came out to 10 euros. If I were to come again I'd probably try the vegan breakfast. It's not a place I'd go out of my way for, but if I were in the area it would be worth visiting again. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience! We've been there on a Saturday for brunch and the place was packed. Yet the service was very welcoming and caring and took time for us. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. I think I've never had such a great first experience going out for brunch in the city. Kudos! I'll be back! Although the location was quite appealing and central I found the service to be (unfortunately) inattentive and horrendously slow. I waited 45 minutes for my meal despite 3 other parties arriving after me and receiving their meals promptly. Unfortunate because it seemed like a great place! read more

Delicious, fresh, healthy. Cute atmostphere. Friendly staff. The most amazing hot chocolate. I personally have found it difficult to find healthy organic places to eat in Berlin's City West. The meals are a bit pricey here, especially for an affordable place like Berlin. A salad with a few add ons and a smoothie will cost around 20€. I personally think it's worth it for the nutritious and delicious fuel you're giving your body. Everything I've had here is excellent! read more

I think I caught them on a bad day. Music played intermittently so not much of an atmosphere in addition to very few patrons at the time. Wifi wasn't working and my dish wasn't anything spectacular. I concur with the reviews that say it took a long time to be served. They also took them a long time to seat us, a long time to offer a menu in English and a long time to take our order. After all that, when we were finally served, we commented on how long it had taken. The waitperson was offended, saying it had taken only 15 minutes and that this was normal. When we disagreed she actually took the food away from us. We reached for it, saying we still wanted it. She backed off, turned, and took the food back inside. Stunned and furious, we walked out. (Full disclosure; we did not pay for two lemonades we had already been served; this was a mistake.) We were pursued by the managers who said they would call the police on us if we did not pay in full. We did but declined to take the food, even as takeout. My husband and I have between us 75 years' experience traveling and eating out in many cultures, and we have never experienced anything like this. It was our first day in Germany, but we did subsequently learn that, in Berlin especially, you do not challenge, question, or make special demands of service people, security guards, receptionists, etc. (there were exceptions, of course). This was all too bad, because Die Stulle's lemonade was terrific. We'll never know what the meal might have been like. read more

This was a great spot to start off our first day in Berlin. We got coffees (super tasty) and an order of chocolate banana pancakes and farm toast with eggs and tomatoes for breakfast. The service was delightful and timely, and the food was delish! The pancakes were definitely more dense than we expected and seemed more like a dessert, but that's on us, not them. Perfect European breakfast and lunch spot. Three tiered meat, cheese, fresh bread and housemade condiment platters, fresh salads. Patio is super charming and they've a great coffee program. Desserts all looked fab. Much more approachable than the nearby touristy tapas or Italian spots. read more

we went for brunch and got the german breakfast cake tier, pancakes, and scrambled eggs. very simple - but all very tasty! Only thing to comment - the service was a bit odd and borderline rude. we were told that our food would take longer "because the boy in the kitchen is very stressed" .... the boy in the kitchen?! perhaps on a sunday brunch time they should employ more than a stressed boy. also, the waitress was a bit odd. we were a mix of german speakers and americans and she said things like "can you smile a bit?" questioned my friend why she moved to germany and then when my friend responded that she moved here for her husband, the waitress immediately responded with "what?! you're the wife?!! how old are you?!" ...really just didn't realize these were appropriate questions and tones to take with customers... we are all in our late 20's early 30's and have not been patronized to that degree in a LONG time. read more
