A special thank you to Kristina the bakery manager. I had stopped into Schnucks to order a cake, the smug and condescending bakery manager said she needed five business days to order a cake. I went in on a Friday to order a cake for Tues which is five days but not five business days. When I tell her I'm going to Dierbergs she says they won't take my order either. This Dierbergs grocery store is really quite nice. They have a huge parking lot with two entrances. The deli and seafood department have great selections and friendly staff to help you. This location has fresh sushi. This store is a good spot to find specialty items that may be difficult to find elsewhere. I like that they try to support local businesses and farmers. They have self-checkout, express and standard lanes. They have paper or plastic bags and they are happy to fill your reusable bags as well. read more

Went to go get some groceries since it was on the way home, I typically go to the much better Dierburgs off of Zumbehl road but decided to give this one a try. Now I am military and my license will be of my original home state. The cashier asked for a manager which I'm assuming is because they thought it was a fake. I came in today to get a rotisserie chicken for the family. Deli was super nice and told me they were just about ready, would be out in a few moments they were making them fresh! Produce is reliably good. Other stuff can be pricy but the selection is really nice to have. I really like the Katie's Pizza and Pasta products they carry both because it's supporting local businesses and because they offer stuff you wouldn't usually see like black garlic pizzas. Their selection of frozen bulgogi and fresh sushi is also great. However, I do always feel like I'm being Punk'd when I get Arthur as a bagger. Like it feels like someone is out to see how slow a human can realistically move without being called out. Or how long a cashier can mess around looking at labels, randomly scooting stuff around on the belt without actually picking it up and scanning it, and making long-talk with folks willing to engage while still maintaining plausible deniability. Today, with only one person in front of us, it took so excruciatingly long between the amount of groceries and the amount of talk that I'm reconsidering this location. He seems unable to talk and check so every time he had something to contribute to the conversation, he'd stop whatever he was doing until he was done speaking. It'd be different if Arthur wasn't the only cashier available sometimes but he's often the only option. I wish we'd taken the time to put all our stuff back in our cart and moved to the aisle that opened up shortly after we got in line as that cashier checked out probably five or six people with easily as much stuff in the time it took us to get anywhere near done. Even without engaging in conversation, he took forever and had to inspect every. Single. Item. whether it has a PLU number or not. He's also not above squashing your produce if you don't engage so I always end up setting my bags in my cart. He does this every time and it's just this exasperating little detail I dread whenever I go to this particular store and it feels so deliberate/passive aggressive. He does not seem to do this to men. read more

I find myself coming here because they stock Paqui Chips and they have a nice selection of fancy cheese. Oddly no Cotija, but they do have sliced Provel. If you're after Cotija, the Schnucks down the road has it. If you're after sliced Provel, it's in the dairy aisle, not the fancy cheese aisle. Speaking of Chips, they also have Rosalita's Cantina chips and salsa. Unfortunately I have to hold a star back due to pricing. They do carry some nice stuff, but the prices on everything are usually a bit higher. You can find bargains here, but you've got to look carefully. I tend to get the generic staples elsewhere and come here to splurge on things like real Roquefort cheese. read more

There are two local grocery chains in the St. Louis region, Schnucks and Dierbergs, Dierbergs being the more upscale of the two. I enjoy shopping here. Sometimes the prices of staple items are considerably higher than Walmart, but they do have good prices to draw you in on other items. During the peak of covid-19, they always had toilet paper.....by selling individual rolls and limiting to two....but they had it! Smart! read more

I am a regular Dierberg's customer, but want to provide feedback to whoever is in charge of the app. The latest update has rendered the 'My List' function unusable. I can't find a way to specify a quantity and the process of searching for an item is clunky in general. Please go back to the previous release for that function. I'm tired of building my shopping list on the Schnuck's app and going back and forth for coupons (that's another negative - lack of meaningful coupons). read more

If you want to find a great selection of seafood i highly recommend Dierbergs. Not too pricey and I always get top notch shrimp.

The poinsettia plant was absolutely gorgeous! I called to have it delivered 1 day earlier and they honored my request!

I was in the neighborhood and dashed into this Dierberg's for a few necessities and a gift card I needed for the holidays. They had everything I was looking for. Dierberg's is my favorite local grocery store. The stores are always clean and the selection is always ample. They do a good job keeping up on food trends and carrying current products. If I had one observation I'd say the clientele was slightly senior! In fact, so were the checkers and baggers! When the bagger asked me if I needed help out with my two little bags I almost wanted to mention that I thought he'd need help before I would but I refrained! For starters, I never have trouble finding what I need to find. Everything is super organized in the store! The employees are awesome as well. I'm always greeted if the person at the register is not busy. Today I dropped something on the floor and spilled juice. And while I was cleaning it up. I was stopped by an employee and she said "Oh, it's ok, we got it" And reassured me that it wasn't a problem! Wish I would've caught her name!! read more

My wife and I have shopped at this store since it opened. They have managed to maintain a very clean and well-stocked store even through all the supply chain issues. They have a great selection of products and when I can't find something customer service has always been very helpful. They continue to hire friendly staff and maintain their employees. If I lived here this is where I would shop over the Shnuck's down the way. Nice clean layout and wide aisles. You take that for granted living in the city! You could fit three carts down these aisles when I'm use to not being able to pass by a 'granny cart' with my own cart! A TON of pre-packaged/pre-made food for those suppers on the go, or those who don't like to cook. They had a nice and different wine selections although the beer and liquors not so much. I think it has a feel of trying to be a pretentious market, but really is just a Shnucks with some extras thrown in. And extra dangerous that there's a Target right next door! read more

I love Dierbergs and the staff. The people are friendly the store is immaculately clean but the are so overpriced on so many items! I was going to purchase crab legs a few days ago. I was close to Dierberg's so went in to check the price - $12.99 a pound! No way! So I went to Shop N Save - same exact item $7.99 a pound! Unbelievable! The there's the ribs - Bob's ribs are great smoked ribs but they are $16.99 a slab - Shop N Save has fantastic Kretchmar ribs for $9.99! And they are really good! I would hate to stop shopping at Dierberg's but with the new meat and seafood counter at Shop N Save, and such significant price differences, I may have to just shop the sales on staples and go elsewhere for meat and fish! Dierberg's - you need some secret shoppers and to be more competitive! You have to be feeling the loss of customers due to pricing! Love you but I have to leave you! read more

I've now had a second customer service issue at this Dierbergs within the past couple of months and while I didn't think enough of the first incident, I'm now taking time to write something as I think it is needed. As someone that has held leadership position managing teams of people, I've always said you need feedback to help with coaching as well as recognize good actions. That said, the first incident happened a couple of months ago. I had checking out from one of the automated registers and went to purchase some scratch off tickets. The scratch off machine wouldn't accept one of the dollar bills (which I received in change back from the automated register) I was attempting to use. I went up to the young man working the automated register area and asked if he would exchange my dollar bill. The young man took my dollar, inspected it and then proceeded to tell me he couldn't or wouldn't and that I would need to go up to the customer service desk. I conveniently proceeded to leave. The second incident happened to day (12/31/18) around 4:00pm. I went to the customer service area which had two women working two different registers helping guests and I stood in line behind a customer that was completing her transaction. I'm certain the women/employee helping the customer noticed me as she looked my way and it wasn't hard to see someone standing in front of you. When the employee completed the transaction with the customer she immediately left the register and went over to another area (only steps away and still in view) and proceeded to do work in a book. I stood there thinking this must be temporary and that she would come back to help me, but she did not. I even walked over to the other cashier and asked if that register is now closed and the other cashier said no she is still here. At that point I was upset and just left. Now I'm not saying this to just be saying it, but being an African American I'm hoping both situations were not due to my race, but I have to tell you......I'm not sure at all. At this point, I will gladly take my business to Schnucks as I've not had any issues there. read more

So Dierbergs, you want to model your store after Whole Foods Market...well you have a long way to go. Your food prices are higher than Whole Foods. The quality of food is much better at Whole Foods. And most importantly, Dierbergs customer service is lacking. No returned call on bulk item order and no discount for bulk item purchase. It is definitely worth the 25 minute drive to Whole Foods Market vs. the 5 minute drive to Dierbergs. Wishing you the best! read more
