If you've been to a World Market before then you've practically visited this location. They are all the same. Same inventory, same prices, same layout. If you are looking for more than the food options then be ready to open your wallet. I don't know how anyone could justify paying there prices for furniture. World Market is one of my all time favorite shops! I can spend hours in there just looking around. I always find such unique things that I have to have! They have such cute, fun items and lots of food from far away places. I love their rugs, furniture and kitchen items too! This store is one you want to just kind of wander around and fill your cart with items you can't get anywhere else! I bought some brownies from France and they are the best I've ever eaten and that's saying something! They have beautiful bathroom items as well. I found this lovely hand soap that smells like Peony and roses. I go in just to look around and come out with bags of treasures! They are starting to get in their Christmas items....my favorite! Cost Plus World Market is always feels like a Treasure Hunt. The isles are full of wonderful smells and sights. I have given many of their Bath Items as gifts...beautiful wrapped soaps and bath bombs can be found in this store. Colors and Patterns fill the store with a sense that you are on vacation in another land. Wines are one of my favorite items to purchase at World Market. The World Market Reward Program is worth joining. They have savings on Wine and other items as well. World Market will even text coupon codes to your cell phone for savings. A yearly Birthday Reward is also a nice gesture. This is a fun place to stop while running errands in Chesterfield Commons. I came to the Chesterfield, MO World Market to pick-up an item I purchased online. I was immediately help by Brenda and Janis. They had me sign that I had picked up the item and was done within minutes. This was my first online purchase with an in-store pick-up. It could not have been smoother. I also received a 25% off coupon that I wanted to use via email, but I wasn't sure how to use it. Brenda started to help me, but the check-out line was forming behind me, so I asked her to void the sale and that I would try to find the coupon bar code. I was searching through my emails for the bar code and brenda noticed i was having some difficulty, so she called Janis. Janis has to be the most patient and pleasant person in the world. She help me find the bar code and explained every step of the way how to find it. Both Brenda and Janis tagged teamed to get me an answer. Furniture, home décor, throw pillows, glassware, tableware, tables and chairs, outdoor furniture, wine, snacks and candies from all corners; and much other merchandise to decorate your home. Being on a quest for kitchen chairs, I made a beeline for the Tables and Chairs department, only to find the ONE chair I wanted to investigate more wasn't on the floor. But it was around the perimeter of the store way up high. I was offered assistance, and she wheeled a big ol' ladder over to the chair I wanted to see, climbed up and fetched it down. As it turned out, this chair was on clearance, as it had been discontinued, and the price was pretty amazing. I tried it out, and it was comfortable. But I wasn't blown away by it. I went to World Market a couple of times over the holiday weekend and always received great and prompt service. The manager (?), John, was always in a good mood and very social. One of my wife's favorite places to shop and has more consistent styling than Pier 1. You have to go on a regular basis as the inventory in some sections will change routinely. Also certain items will be marked down at various times during the year. Product quality is decent. Interesting wine department for unusual wines you can't find at other stores in the area. I agree somewhat with the comment on the service level. The don't have many people working at the store and are usually only working the registers. I have never have found them unpleasant though. read more

This is not about any specific World Market store. I have been an avid WM shopper way back when they were Cost Plus on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. This review is about World Market's purchasing policies. I received my birthday discount code this month. I made a purchase today because they also had a free shipping on $49 or more. My purchase, including my 15% birthday discount, exceeded the $49; however, the online site would only allow one discount. I opted for free shipping because it was a much better deal. So the birthday discount isn't a reward at all. Since we are in the midst of a Pandemic and ALL WM stores are closed, you'd think they would have opted to allow for people to use combined discounts while shopping online, especially for WM Reward customers. Holy mother of all things awesome in one store! This place has all the cool obscure things you could ever want. I looked around for some dulce de leche for some cookies I was making and could not find it anywhere. Sarah suggested we try this place, and sure enough they had 2 different kinds to choose from. I was pleased. What pleased me even more so is their wine department, and the prices on said wine. We got 5 bottles of wine that were all 90+ points rated. The prices after the AWESOME member discount (which is free to sign up for). The bottles ranged from 5.99 to 8.99. Combine that with a 10 dollar off coupon, and it was cheap good wine heaven. The market is cleverly laid out because if you have a kid there is some toys or candy within reach no matter where you are in the market. Nice wine and ale/beer prices and selection, plus housewares and some unique furniture. They tend to be understaffed. The young gentleman at the register was very kind and pleasant. Poor thing had a horrible cold and would blow his nose, use hand sanitizer, and then continue to ring people out. They may have considered giving the poor child a task in the back of the store while he was this ill. It's unfortunate retailers don't provide more sick pay for individuals so they could actually stay home when they were ill. If you sign up with email, you receive 10% off and they do have a rewards program. It's worthy shopping if you are looking for out of the ordinary items. read more

I guess I don't understand why stores set up an operating model to where they actually turn business away. I recently went after seeing a sign on their store window about accent tables. I saw two tables that were exactly what I was looking for. The price was very good so I loaded the tables in the cart and started to check out. (this is why I gave them three stars - merchandise, price) One of the attendants came over and quickly looked up their inventory and realized that I had indeed planned to purchase the last two. That was a nonstarter with the attendant. I was given the choice to come back when they had more or go to a different store. It was permissible for me to purchase one but as I was going to use said accent tables as end tables, I really did not want to deal with the complications of procuring the second table whenever another one was available. The attendant asked me if I was sure I wasn't willing to purchase just the one. I asked the attendant if she was sure she wouldn't sell me both. The response to both questions was 'no'. I left with my money and the store lost a sale. I really do miss the days when you could purchase something on the spot. Brick-and-mortar retailers wonder why Wayfair and Amazon do so well. read more

Matt, one of the employees was very nice and very helpful, as was all the other employees...until today when we called to inform them we would be coming to pick up the table. I don't know what his name is but some guy answered and was EXTREMELY RUDE on the phone. He claimed he wouldn't be able to help load the table because the ONLY employees were him...and one girl at a cash register...yeah...right...on a Sunday in Chesterfield Valley. Love this store more than Pier 1. The gourmet and wine section have great items at prices better than other places around town. I was wary of the wine selection when I first started going here, but was pleasantly surprised at the selection.
